قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع شَرُّ مَاءٍ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْأَرْضِ مَاءُ بَرَهُوتَ وَ هُوَ الَّذِي بِحَضْرَمَوْتَ تَرِدُهُ هَامُ الْكُفَّارِ.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from Ja‘far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ariy from al-Qaddah who has narrated the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah from his ancestors (a.s.), has narrated that ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘The worst water on earth is the water of Barahut which is in Hadramawt where the souls (spirits) of unbelievers camp.’”

[2]« هام» جمع هامة و هي الصدى، و رئيس القوم، و الصدى الرجل اللطيف الجسد؛ و الجسد من الآدمي بعد موته؛ و طائر يخرج من رأس المقتول إذا بلى بزعم الجاهلية و كانوا يزعمون أن عظام الميت تصير هامة فتطير على قبره و المراد بالهامة هنا ارواح الكفّار و ابدانهم المثالية.( فى)ص 246
