3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from Aban from ’Isma‘il al-Ju’fiy from ‘Umar ibn Hanzalah who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about Qunut (supplication after recitation) on Friday. He (the Imam) said, ‘You are my messenger to them in this matter. When performing in congregation, it is in the first Rak‘at, but when performing alone, it is in the second Rak‘at before Ruku‘ (bowing down on one’s knees).”’
