1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from the one whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who pays Zakat to a person whom as he sees is a needy person, but later finds out to be affluent. He (the Imam) said, ‘Such payment is not sufficient for Zakat.’”

[1]حمل على ما إذا قصر في التفحص عن فقره و قال في المدارك: المشهور بين الاصحاب بل المقطوع به في كلامهم جواز الدفع إلى مدعى الفقر إذا لم يعلم له أصل مال من غير تكليف بينة و لا يمين و المشهور ايضا. ذلك فيما إذا علم له أصل مال.( آت)ص 545
