أَرَى أَنْ لَا يُحْلَفَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ أَمَّا قَوْلُ الرَّجُلِ لَا بَلِ شَانِئِكَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ قَوْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَ لَوْ حَلَفَ

Hadith.4288 - Hammad narrated from al-Halabi, from Abu Abdillah (as), who said: "I believe that one should only swear by Allah (swt). As for a man's saying, 'No, by your enemy,' this is from the sayings of Jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic era of ignorance). If people were to swear by this or similar expressions, swearing by Allah (swt) would be abandoned. As for a man's saying, 'Ya Hanah, Ya Hanah' (O so-and-so), it is merely calling a name, and I see no harm in it. And as for saying, 'By the life of Allah (swt)' (La 'amr Allah (swt)) and 'By the oath of Allah (swt)' (Aym Allah (swt)), these are indeed swearing by Allah (swt)."

[4]مخفف قولهم« لا أب لشانئك» أي لمبغضك كما في بعض النسخ، و هذه كلمة كانوا-- ينطقون بها في ضمن كلامهم مرددا كما هو عادة كل أحد من ترداد شيء ضمن كلامه مثل« يغفر اللّه لك» و« للّه أبوك» و« يرحمك اللّه» و أمثال ذلك، و فائدته أنّه قد ينسى المتكلم ما يريد أن يقوله فيردد هذه الكلمة حتّى يتذكر ما كان قد نسيه، و ليس هذا و أمثاله حلفا و يمينا الا أنّه قد يمكن جعل« لا بل شانئك» قسما نظير ما يقال: ليمت أبى ان كنت قلت ذاك، و لست ابن أبي أو هلك ابني، و أمّا في أكثر الامر فليس قسما البتة.ص 363
