[١]« المؤلّفة قلوبهم» المشهور بين الاصحاب انهم كفّار يستمالون للجهاد. قال المفيد- رحمه اللّه-: المؤلّفة قسمان: مسلمون و مشركون. و قال العلامة( ره) في القواعد: المؤلّفة قسمان: كفار يستمالون إلى الجهاد أو إلى الإسلام و مسلمون.
إِنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ لَيَكْفُرُونَ بِاللَّهِ جَهْرَةً وَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَخْبَثُ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ أَخْبَثُ مِنْهُمْ سَبْعِينَ ضِعْفاً.
4. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama’a from abu Basir from one of the two Imams (a.s.) who has said the following: “People of Makka disbelieve Allah openly and people of Madina are seventy times filthier than those of Makka.”

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَهْلُ الشَّامِ شَرٌّ أَمْ أَهْلُ الرُّومِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرُّومَ كَفَرُوا وَ لَمْ يُعَادُونَا وَ إِنَّ أَهْلَ الشَّامِ كَفَرُوا وَ عَادَوْنَا.
5. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Husayn ibn Sa’id from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Sayf ibn ‘Amirah from abu Bakr al-Hadrami who has said the following: “Once I asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘Are people of Damascus more evil than the people of Rome?’ The Imam said, ‘People of Rome disbelieved, but are not hostile to us. The people of Damascus have disbelieved and are hostile to us.’”

لَا تُجَالِسُوهُمْ يَعْنِي الْمُرْجِئَةَ لَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ مِلَلَهُمُ الْمُشْرِكَةَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَعْبُدُونَ اللَّهَ عَلَى شَيْءٍ مِنَ الْأَشْيَاءِ.
6. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from Muhammad ibn al- Husayn from al-Nadr ibn Shu’ayb from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Do not sit with them -al-Murji’a. May Allah condemn them! Allah has condemned their pagan nations which do not worship Allah on any good grounds.”

الْمُؤَلَّفَةُ قُلُوبُهُمْ قَوْمٌ وَحَّدُوا اللَّهَ وَ خَلَعُوا عِبَادَةَ مَنْ يُعْبَدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَ لَمْ تَدْخُلِ الْمَعْرِفَةُ قُلُوبَهُمْ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَتَأَلَّفُهُمْ وَ يُعَرِّفُهُمْ لِكَيْمَا يَعْرِفُوا وَ يُعَلِّمُهُمْ.
1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Musa ibn Bakr and Ali ibn Ibrahim from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from a man all from Zurara from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “ Al-Mu’ allafah Qulubuhum (people with inclined hearts to Islam) were a people who had accepted Allah only and had given up the worship of things besides Allah. However, true knowledge and belief that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah had not entered their hearts. The Messenger of Allah showed them kindness, provided them knowledge, so they might know the truth and he would teach them.”
