كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ قَالَ- اللَّهُمَّ بِاسْمِكَ أَحْيَا وَ بِاسْمِكَ أَمُوتُ فَإِذَا قَامَ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ قَالَ- الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانِي بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنِي وَ إِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ وَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَنْ قَرَأَ عِنْدَ مَنَامِهِ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي آلِ عِمْرَانَ- شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَ الْمَلائِكَةُ وَ آيَةَ السُّخْرَةِ وَ آيَةَ السَّجْدَةِ وُكِّلَ بِهِ شَيْطَانَانِ يَحْفَظَانِهِ مِنْ مَرَدَةِ الشَّيَاطِينِ شَاءُوا أَوْ أَبَوْا وَ مَعَهُمَا مِنَ اللَّهِ ثَلَاثُونَ مَلَكاً يَحْمَدُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ يُسَبِّحُونَهُ وَ يُهَلِّلُونَهُ وَ يُكَبِّرُونَهُ وَ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ إِلَى أَنْ يَنْتَبِهَ ذَلِكَ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ وَ ثَوَابُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ.
16. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad and Ahmad ibn Muhammad all from Ja’far ibn Muhammad al-Ash’ari from ibn al-Qaddah from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: “When the Messenger of Allah were about to go to his bed he would say, ‘O Lord, in Your name I live and in Your name I will die,’ and when he would wake up he would say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, Who has given me life after causing me to die and before Him is the resurrection.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever recites verse 255 of Chapter two before going to sleep three times, verses 18,19 of Chapter three, verse 54 of Chapter 7 and verses 53-54 of Chapter 41 two devils will be assigned to protect him against the rebellious devils whether they like or dislike it, and with them from Allah there will be thirty angels who praise Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, glorify Him, testify that no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, say that Allah is greater than can be described, plead before Allah for forgiveness for him until that servant (of Allah) wakes up and he will receive all the reward for it (whatever the angels have said).”’

[2]آية السخرة في سورة الأعراف« إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّماواتِ- إلى قوله رَبُّ الْعالَمِينَ-». و قيل:« إلى فريب من المحسنين». و قال الشيخ بهائى( ره) المراد بالآية الجنس و سميت سخرة لدلالتها على تسخير اللّه تعالى للأشياء و تذليله لها. و المشهور ان المراد بآية السخرة آيتان في آخر حم السجدة: سنريهم آياتنا إلى آخر السورة»( آت).ص 539
مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَقْرَأُ آخِرَ الْكَهْفِ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ إِلَّا تَيَقَّظَ فِي السَّاعَةِ الَّتِي يُرِيدُ.
17. Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Kufi has narrated from Hamdan al-Qalanisi from Muhammad ibn al-Walid from Aban from ‘Amir ibn ‘Ubayd Allah ibn Judha’a from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever recites verse 110 of Chapter 18 he will wake up at the hour he wants to wake up.”

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص مَنْ أَرَادَ شَيْئاً مِنْ قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ وَ أَخَذَ مَضْجَعَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ لَا تُؤْمِنِّي مَكْرَكَ وَ لَا تُنْسِنِي ذِكْرَكَ وَ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ أَقُومُ سَاعَةَ كَذَا وَ كَذَا إِلَّا وَكَّلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهِ مَلَكاً يُنَبِّهُهُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ.
18. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Nawfali from al-Sakuni from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “The Holy Prophet has said, ‘Whoever likes to wake up at night, at the time of going to sleep should say, “(In the name of Allah) O Lord, do not allow me to ignore Your anger, do not allow me to forget speaking of You, do not make me of the careless ones, so I will wake up at such and such hour,” Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, will assign an angel to wake him up at that time.’”

رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْهِ حِينَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ وَ هُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُكَ تُحَرِّكُ شَفَتَيْكَ حِينَ خَرَجْتَ فَهَلْ قُلْتَ شَيْئاً قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ مَنْزِلِهِ قَالَ حِينَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ثَلَاثاً- بِاللَّهِ أَخْرُجُ وَ بِاللَّهِ أَدْخُلُ وَ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَتَوَكَّلُ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ لِي فِي وَجْهِي هَذَا بِخَيْرٍ وَ اخْتِمْ لِي بِخَيْرٍ وَ قِنِي شَرَّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِناصِيَتِها إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلى صِراطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ لَمْ يَزَلْ فِي ضَمَانِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ حَتَّى يَرُدَّهُ اللَّهُ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي كَانَ فِيهِ. - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ مِثْلَهُ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from abu Ayyub al-Khazzaz from abu Hamza who has said the following: “Once I saw Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) moving his lips when he wanted to go out of his house while standing at the door. I said, ‘I saw you at the door moving your lips when coming out, did you say something?’ The Imam said, ‘Yes, when a man is leaving his home he should say, “Allah is greater than can be described, [three times], by the help of Allah I come out and by the help of Allah I enter and in Allah I place my trust, [three times]. O Lord, open to me this with goodness and finish it with goodness, protect me against the evil of every moving thing on earth that You keep in Your control. My Lord is on the right path,” he will continue to be under the protection of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, until He brings him back to the place where he was before.’” Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn al-Hakam from abu Ayyub from abu Hamza has narrated a similar Hadith.
