سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةً وَ جَعَلَ مَهْرَهَا عِشْرِينَ أَلْفاً وَ جَعَلَ لِأَبِيهَا عَشَرَةَ آلَافٍ كَانَ الْمَهْرُ جَائِزاً وَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لِأَبِيهَا فَاسِداً.

1. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu’alla’ ibn Muhammad Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from all from al-Washsha’ who has said the following: “I once heard al-Rida’ (a.s.), saying, ‘If a man marries a woman for a mahr (dower) of twenty thousand of which ten thousand is for her father, mahr (dower) is permissible but that which is for her father is invalid.’”
