4. Ali has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who said: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of a man who marries a virgin girl through mut‘ah. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful as long as she is not under age (or it does cause her humiliation).”’

5. Ali has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘When is a girl not considered a child? Is it a girl who is six or seven years old?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘No, a nine-year-old girl is not considered a child and all of them are unanimous that a girl who is nine years old is not considered a child unless there is weakness in her reason, otherwise, when she becomes nine years old she becomes mature.’”

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Marriage in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) is not permissible with a slave-girl without the permission of her people.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Aban ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Isa ibn abu Mansur who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful to marry a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) by the permission of her master.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Muhammad ibn ‘Isma’il who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), ‘A man has a free wife; if he can marry a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) by the permission of her master.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so.’ It also is narrated that marriage of a slave-girl in the manner of al-Mut‘ah (advantageous marriage) when one has a free wife is not permissible.’”
