6. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Mu‘awiyah ibn Wahab from abu ‘Usamah Zayd al-Shahham who has said the following: “I once went to visit my master abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), when he (the Imam) was having sikbajah (broth with vinegar) of cow meat.’”

7. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Sa‘dan ibn Muslim from ’Isma‘il ibn Jabir who has said the following: “Once I was with ‘Abd Allah ‘Alayhi al-Salam, and he (the Imam) asked for table-spread with food. Tharid and meat was brought and he (the Imam) asked for oil which he (the Imam) poured on the meat and I ate with him (the Imam).”’

8. Zurarah has narrated from certain persons of his people in a marfu‘ manner the following: “He (the Imam) said that the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Tharid is a blessing.’”

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ghiyath ibn Ibrahim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ’Do not eat from the top of Tharid but eat from its sides because blessing is in its top.’”

10. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from ‘Umayyah ibn ‘Amr from al-Shu’ayriy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘You must extinguish the flame of malice with meat and Tharid (bread in broth).’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Hassan from Musa ibn ‘Umar from Ja‘far ibn Bashir from Ibrahim ibn Mehzam from abu Maryam from al-Asbagh ibn Nabatah who has said the following: “I once went to visit ’Amir al-Mu’minin and before him (the Imam) there was roasted meat. He (the Imam) said to me, ‘Come close and eat.’ I said, ‘O ’Amir al-Mu’minin, this thing is harmful for me.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Come close. I will teach you certain words with which not even one thing will harm you of which you are afraid. Say, ‘In the name of Allah, the best of names, to the fill of the earth and sky, the Beneficent, the Merciful, the one with whose name not even one thing and illness harms.’ Now you can have lunch with us.’”

2. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “I once in al-Madinah became very weak and visited abu al-Hassan (a.s.). He (the Imam) said, ‘I can see you are very weak.’ I replied, ‘Yes, I feel weak.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Eat kabab .’ I then ate kabab and I was cured.’”
