بَابُ السَّفَهِ‌

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ شَرِيفِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ أَبِي غُرَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِنَّ السَّفَهَ خُلُقُ لَئِيمٍ يَسْتَطِيلُ عَلَى مَنْ هُوَ دُونَهُ‌ وَ يَخْضَعُ لِمَنْ [هُوَ] فَوْقَهُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from Sharif ibn Sabiq from al-Fadl ibn abu Qurrah from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Dimwittedness is a bad attitude. Such an individual intimidates those below him and is humble (inferior) before those above him.’”

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ عَنِ الْحَلَبِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

لَا تَسْفَهُوا فَإِنَّ أَئِمَّتَكُمْ لَيْسُوا بِسُفَهَاءَ وَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَنْ كَافَأَ السَّفِيهَ بِالسَّفَهِ فَقَدْ رَضِيَ بِمَا أَتَى إِلَيْهِ حَيْثُ احْتَذَى مِثَالَهُ‌.

2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from certain individuals of his people from abu al-Maghra’ from al-Halabi from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Do not behave as dimwitted ones; your ‘A’immah, recipients of divine supreme covenant, have not been dimwitted people.’ Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has also said, ‘Whoever deals with a dimwitted person in a reciprocal manner is as if he has agreed to what he has faced and has behaved similarly (followed the footsteps of the dimwitted person).”’

[3]الظاهر أنّه رواية اخرى بحذف الاسناد( لح).ص 322

[4]« بما اتى إليه» على بناء المجرد اي جاء إليه من قبل خصمه فالمستتر راجع إلى الموصول. أو التقدير أتى به إليه فالمستتر للخصم، و في المصباح أنّه يأتي متعديا و قد يقرأ« آتى» على بناء الافعال أو المفاعلة.« حيث احتذى» تعليل للرضا و في القاموس احتذى مثاله: اقتدى به( آت).ص 322

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى ع‌ فِي رَجُلَيْنِ يَتَسَابَّانِ فَقَالَ

الْبَادِي مِنْهُمَا أَظْلَمُ وَ وِزْرُهُ وَ وِزْرُ صَاحِبِهِ عَلَيْهِ مَا لَمْ يَتَعَدَّ الْمَظْلُومُ‌.

3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd al- Rahman ibn al-Hajjaj from abu al-Hassan Musa (a.s.) who has said the following: “Two people were abusing each other and the Imam said, ‘The initiator is more unjust. His own sins and the sins of his companion are on him as long as the oppressed one does not transgress.’”

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ عَنْ عِيصِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ‌ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِنَّ أَبْغَضَ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ عَبْدٌ اتَّقَى النَّاسُ لِسَانَهُ‌.

4. A number of our people have narrated from Sahl ibn Ziyad from Safwan from ‘Iys ibn al-Qasim from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘The most hated of the creatures of Allah is one from whose tongue people are afraid.’”
