عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَمَّنْ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع

فِي رَجُلٍ يُعْطِي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ رَجُلًا وَ هُوَ يَرَى أَنَّهُ مُعْسِرٌ فَوَجَدَهُ مُوسِراً قَالَ لَا يُجْزِئُ عَنْهُ.

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from al-Husayn ibn ‘Uthman from the one whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who pays Zakat to a person whom as he sees is a needy person, but later finds out to be affluent. He (the Imam) said, ‘Such payment is not sufficient for Zakat.’”

مَا عَذَّبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَوْماً قَطُّ وَ هُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ وَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَكْرَمُ مِنْ أَنْ يَرْزُقَهُمْ شَيْئاً ثُمَّ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يَفْرُغُوا مِنْهُ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Faddal from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, has never made a people to undergo suffering while eating food. Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is honorable. He does not give people sustenance, then make them to undergo suffering before they finish eating their food.’”

فِي رَجُلٍ عَجَّلَ زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ ثُمَّ أَيْسَرَ الْمُعْطَى قَبْلَ رَأْسِ السَّنَةِ قَالَ يُعِيدُ الْمُعْطِي الزَّكَاةَ.

2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from all from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from al-Ahwal who has said the following: “About a man who pays his Zakat before due time then the recipient becomes affluent before due time (end of the year), abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Zakat payer must pay again.’”

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى أَشْرَكَ بَيْنَ الْأَغْنِيَاءِ وَ الْفُقَرَاءِ فِي الْأَمْوَالِ فَلَيْسَ لَهُمْ أَنْ يَصْرِفُوا إِلَى غَيْرِ شُرَكَائِهِمْ.

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Muhammad ibn al-Husayn from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from abu al-Maghra’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Allah, most Blessed, most High, has made the affluent to share their wealth with the needy people; thus, they must not share it with others (affluent ones).”’
