Paradise

إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ وَ لَمْ يَذْكُرِ النَّبِيَّ وَ آلَهُ ص فِي صَلَاتِهِ يُسْلَكُ بِصَلَاتِهِ غَيْرَ سَبِيلِ الْجَنَّةِ[2] وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ دَخَلَ النَّارَ فَأَبْعَدَهُ اللَّهُ وَ قَالَ ص وَ مَنْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَنَسِيَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيَّ خُطِئَ بِهِ طَرِيقَ الْجَنَّةِ.

“Whenever anyone of you prays and does not mention the Holy Prophet and his family in his prayer, his prayer will be taken to a direction other than that toward paradise. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَنْ ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَنَسِيَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيَّ خَطَّأَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقَ الْجَنَّةِ[4].

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘If my name is mentioned before a person and he forgets to ask from Allah al-Salat (favors) for me, Allah will make him lose the way to paradise.’”

مَنْ أَكْثَرَ ذِكْرَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَظَلَّهُ اللَّهُ فِي جَنَّتِهِ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever speaks of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, very often, Allah will provide him a shadow in paradise.’”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ ذَاكِرُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي الْغَافِلِينَ كَالْمُقَاتِلِ عَنِ الْفَارِّينَ وَ الْمُقَاتِلُ عَنِ الْفَارِّينَ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ.

“The messenger of Allah has said, ‘The speaker of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, among the indifferent people is like a soldier on the offensive while others are running away. The reward for a fighter among runaway ones is paradise.’”

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ التَّسْبِيحُ نِصْفُ الْمِيزَانِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ يَمْلَأُ الْمِيزَانَ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ يَمْلَأُ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ الْأَرْضِ.

“Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said, ‘Al-Tasbih is half of the balance, al- Hamdu li Allah fills out the balance and Allahu Akbar fills from earth to heaven.’”

مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص بِرَجُلٍ يَغْرِسُ غَرْساً فِي حَائِطٍ لَهُ فَوَقَفَ لَهُ‌[1] وَ قَالَ أَ لَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى غَرْسٍ أَثْبَتَ أَصْلًا وَ أَسْرَعَ إِينَاعاً[2] وَ أَطْيَبَ ثَمَراً وَ أَبْقَى قَالَ بَلَى فَدُلَّنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ إِذَا أَصْبَحْتَ وَ أَمْسَيْتَ فَقُلْ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ فَإِنَّ لَكَ إِنْ قُلْتَهُ بِكُلِّ تَسْبِيحَةٍ

“The Messenger of Allah once was passing by a man who was planting a plant in his yard. The Holy Prophet stopped and asked, ‘Should I tell you about a plantation that has stronger roots, ripens faster and is of finer fruits?’ The man said, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah, tell me about it.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘In

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ أَرْبَعَةٌ لَا تُرَدُّ لَهُمْ دَعْوَةٌ حَتَّى تُفَتَّحَ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَ تَصِيرَ إِلَى الْعَرْشِ‌[1] الْوَالِدُ لِوَلَدِهِ وَ الْمَظْلُومُ عَلَى مَنْ ظَلَمَهُ وَ الْمُعْتَمِرُ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ وَ الصَّائِمُ حَتَّى يُفْطِرَ.

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘The prayers of four people are not turned back before the door to heaven opens and they move to the Throne: the prayer of a father for his son, the prayer of an oppressed against his oppressor, the prayer of one who perfonns ‘Umrah until his returning home and the prayer of a person f

إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ ثَلَاثَ سَاعَاتٍ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَ ثَلَاثَ سَاعَاتٍ فِي النَّهَارِ يُمَجِّدُ فِيهِنَّ نَفْسَهُ فَأَوَّلُ سَاعَاتِ النَّهَارِ حِينَ تَكُونُ الشَّمْسُ هَذَا الْجَانِبَ يَعْنِي مِنَ الْمَشْرِقِ مِقْدَارَهَا مِنَ الْعَصْرِ يَعْنِي مِنَ الْمَغْرِبِ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ الْأُولَى وَ أَوَّلُ سَاعَاتِ اللَّيْلِ فِي الثُّلُثِ الْبَاقِي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِلَى أَنْ يَنْفَجِرَ الصُّبْحُ‌[2] يَقُولُ إِنِّي أ

“In three hours of the day and in three hours of the night Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, glorifies Himself. إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يُمَجِّدُ نَفْسَهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَ لَيْلَةٍ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَمَنْ مَجَّدَ اللَّهَ بِمَا مَجَّدَ بِهِ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ كَانَ فِي حَالِ شِقْوَةٍ حَوَّلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَى سَعَادَةٍ يَقُولُ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْعَل

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَنْ قَالَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ غُرِسَتْ لَهُ شَجَرَةٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ مِنْ يَاقُوتَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ مَنْبِتُهَا فِي مِسْكٍ أَبْيَضَ أَحْلَى مِنَ الْعَسَلِ وَ أَشَدَّ بَيَاضاً مِنَ الثَّلْجِ وَ أَطْيَبَ رِيحاً مِنَ الْمِسْكِ فِيهَا أَمْثَالُ ثُدِيِّ الْأَبْكَارِ تَعْلُو عَنْ سَبْعِينَ حُلَّةً وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص خَيْرُ الْعِبَادَةِ قَوْلُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ قَالَ خَيْرُ الْعِ

‘The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever (sincerely) says, ‘No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah’, a tree is planted for him in paradise, from red ruby that grows out of white musk, sweeter than honey, whiter than snow, of a fragrance better than musk, in which there is something like the breast of virgins,

ثَمَنُ الْجَنَّةِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ.

“The cost of paradise is (sincerely) saying: ‘No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah and Allah is greater than everyones’ description.’”

قَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص طُوبَى لِمَنْ قَالَ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ- لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ‌[2].

“Jibril once said to the Messenger of Allah, ‘ Tuba (a tree in paradise) is for those among your followers who (sincerely) say: ‘No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, Allah alone, Allah alone, Allah alone.’”

مَنْ قَالَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ- لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ حَقّاً حَقّاً لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ عُبُودِيَّةً وَ رِقّاً لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ إِيمَاناً وَ صِدْقاً أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بِوَجْهِهِ وَ لَمْ يَصْرِفْ وَجْهَهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ الْجَنَّةَ.

“Whoever says ten times a day, ‘No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, indeed and in all truth, no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, servitude and slavery is for Him, no one deserves to be worshipped except Allah, in belief and affirmation, Allah will turn to him with His face and will not turn away f

يَا أَبَانُ إِذَا قَدِمْتَ الْكُوفَةَ فَارْوِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُخْلِصاً وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّهُ يَأْتِينِي مِنْ كُلِّ صِنْفٍ مِنَ الْأَصْنَافِ أَ فَأَرْوِي لَهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ نَعَمْ يَا أَبَانُ إِنَّهُ إِذَا كَانَ‌ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ وَ جَمَعَ اللَّهُ الْأَوَّلِينَ وَ الْآخِرِينَ فَتُسْلَبُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّا مَن

مَنْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُشْهِدُكَ وَ أُشْهِدُ مَلَائِكَتَكَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ وَ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الرَّحْمَنُ الرَّحِيمُ وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُكَ وَ رَسُولُكَ وَ أَنَّ فُلَانَ بْنَ فُلَانٍ إِمَامِي وَ وَلِيِّي وَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ- رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص وَ عَلِيّاً وَ الْحَسَنَ وَ الْحُسَيْنَ وَ فُلَاناً وَ فُلَاناً حَتَّى يَنْتَهِيَ إِلَيْهِ أَئِمَّتِي

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَقُولُ إِذَا أَصْبَحَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ- اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيراً وَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ‌ بُكْرَةً وَ أَصِيلًا وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعالَمِينَ* كَثِيراً لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ إِلَّا ابْتَدَرَهُنَّ مَلَكٌ وَ جَعَلَهُنَّ فِي جَوْفِ‌[5] جَنَاحِهِ وَ صَعِدَ بِهِنَ‌ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا فَتَقُولُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مَا مَعَكَ فَيَقُول

إِنَّ أَبَا ذَرٍّ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص وَ مَعَهُ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع فِي صُورَةِ دِحْيَةَ الْكَلْبِيِّ وَ قَدِ اسْتَخْلَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَلَمَّا رَآهُمَا انْصَرَفَ عَنْهُمَا وَ لَمْ يَقْطَعْ كَلَامَهُمَا فَقَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع يَا مُحَمَّدُ هَذَا أَبُو ذَرٍّ قَدْ مَرَّ بِنَا وَ لَمْ يُسَلِّمْ عَلَيْنَا أَمَا لَوْ سَلَّمَ لَرَدَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ لَهُ دُعَاءً يَدْعُو بِهِ مَعْرُوفاً عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الس

قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ قَوْلَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَ عَمَلَهُمْ وَ نُورَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَ صِدْقَهُمْ وَ نَجَاةَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ وَ ثَوَابَهُمْ وَ شُكْرَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ وَ نَصِيحَتَهُمْ وَ عَمَلَ الذَّاكِرِينَ وَ يَقِينَهُمْ وَ إِيمَانَ الْعُلَمَاءِ وَ فِقْهَهُمْ وَ تَعَبُّدَ الْخَاشِعِينَ وَ تَوَاضُعَهُمْ وَ حُكْمَ الْفُقَهَاءِ وَ سِيرَتَهُمْ وَ خَشْيَةَ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَ رَغْبَتَهُمْ وَ تَصْدِيقَ الْمُؤْمِنِي

يَا سَعْدُ تَعَلَّمُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّ الْقُرْآنَ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ نَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا الْخَلْقُ وَ النَّاسُ صُفُوفٌ عِشْرُونَ وَ مِائَةُ أَلْفِ صَفٍّ ثَمَانُونَ أَلْفَ صَفٍّ أُمَّةُ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَرْبَعُونَ أَلْفَ صَفٍّ مِنْ سَائِرِ الْأُمَمِ فَيَأْتِي عَلَى صَفِّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فِي صُورَةِ رَجُلٍ فَيُسَلِّمُ فَيَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ فِي دَارِ هُدْنَةٍ[3] وَ أَنْتُمْ عَلَى ظَهْرِ سَفَرٍ وَ السَّيْرُ بِكُمْ سَرِيعٌ وَ قَدْ رَأَيْتُمُ اللَّيْلَ وَ النَّهَارَ وَ الشَّمْسَ وَ الْقَمَرَ يُبْلِيَانِ كُلَّ جَدِيدٍ وَ يُقَرِّبَانِ كُلَّ بَعِيدٍ وَ يَأْتِيَانِ بِكُلِّ مَوْعُودٍ فَأَعِدُّوا الْجَهَازَ[4] لِبُعْدِ الْمَجَازِ- قَالَ فَقَامَ الْمِقْدَادُ بْنُ الْأَسْوَدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا د

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِنَّ الْعَزِيزَ الْجَبَّارَ أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ كِتَابَهُ وَ هُوَ الصَّادِقُ الْبَارُّ فِيهِ خَبَرُكُمْ وَ خَبَرُ مَنْ قَبْلَكُمْ وَ خَبَرُ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ وَ خَبَرُ السَّمَاءِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ لَوْ أَتَاكُمْ مَنْ يُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ لَتَعَجَّبْتُمْ.

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ إِنَّ الْقُرْآنَ زَاجِرٌ وَ آمِرٌ يَأْمُرُ بِالْجَنَّةِ وَ يَزْجُرُ عَنِ النَّارِ.

يَجِي‌ءُ الْقُرْآنُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِي أَحْسَنِ مَنْظُورٍ إِلَيْهِ صُورَةً فَيَمُرُّ بِالْمُسْلِمِينَ فَيَقُولُونَ هَذَا الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا فَيُجَاوِزُهُمْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّينَ فَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنَّا فَيُجَاوِزُهُمْ إِلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ فَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنَّا حَتَّى يَنْتَهِيَ إِلَى رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ أَظْمَأْتُ هَوَاجِرَهُ‌[2] وَ أَسْهَرْتُ

“On the Day of Judgment the Holy Quran will come in the best shape and form. He will pass by the Muslims who will say, ‘This man is from us.’ He will pass toward the prophets who will say that he is of us, then he will pass toward the special angels who will say that he is one of us until he is before the Lord of Majes

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِنَّ الدَّوَاوِينَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ثَلَاثَةٌ دِيوَانٌ فِيهِ النِّعَمُ وَ دِيوَانٌ فِيهِ الْحَسَنَاتُ وَ دِيوَانٌ فِيهِ السَّيِّئَاتُ فَيُقَابَلُ بَيْنَ دِيوَانِ النِّعَمِ وَ دِيوَانِ الْحَسَنَاتِ فَتَسْتَغْرِقُ النِّعَمُ عَامَّةَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَ يَبْقَى دِيوَانُ السَّيِّئَاتِ فَيُدْعَى بِابْنِ آدَمَ الْمُؤْمِنِ لِلْحِسَابِ فَيَتَقَدَّمُ الْقُرْآنُ أَمَامَهُ فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ فَيَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ تَعَلَّمُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ صَاحِبَهُ فِي صُورَةِ شَابٍّ جَمِيلٍ شَاحِبِ اللَّوْنِ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ الْقُرْآنُ‌[1] أَنَا الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَسْهَرْتُ لَيْلَكَ وَ أَظْمَأْتُ هَوَاجِرَكَ وَ أَجْفَفْتُ رِيقَكَ وَ أَسَلْتُ دَمْعَتَكَ أَئُولُ مَعَكَ حَيْثُمَا أُلْتَ وَ كُلُّ تَاجِرٍ مِنْ وَرَاءِ تِجَارَتِهِ وَ أَنَا الْيَوْمَ لَكَ مِنْ وَرَاءِ تِجَارَةِ كُلِّ تَاجِرٍ وَ

Through the same chain of narrators it is narrated from abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) who has said the following: ‘‘The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Learn the Holy Quran; on the Day of Judgment it will come to his friends in the form of a most beautiful young person of pale complexion and will speak to his friend saying, “

مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ وَ هُوَ شَابٌّ مُؤْمِنٌ اخْتَلَطَ الْقُرْآنُ بِلَحْمِهِ وَ دَمِهِ وَ جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَعَ السَّفَرَةِ الْكِرَامِ الْبَرَرَةِ وَ كَانَ الْقُرْآنُ حَجِيزاً عَنْهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ إِنَّ كُلَّ عَامِلٍ قَدْ أَصَابَ أَجْرَ عَمَلِهِ غَيْرَ عَامِلِي فَبَلِّغْ بِهِ أَكْرَمَ عَطَايَاكَ قَالَ‌ فَيَكْسُوهُ اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْجَبَّارُ حُلَّتَيْنِ مِنْ حُلَلِ الْجَنَّ

“If a young believing person reads the Holy Quran, it mixes with his flesh and blood. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, will include him among the honorable and virtuous carriers of the message of Allah and on the Day of Judgment the Holy Quran will be his supporter. The Holy Quran will say, ‘O Lord, every worke

سَمِعْتُ مُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ لِرَجُلٍ أَ تُحِبُّ الْبَقَاءَ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ وَ لِمَ قَالَ لِقِرَاءَةِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَسَكَتَ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ بَعْدَ سَاعَةٍ يَا حَفْصُ مَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِنَا وَ شِيعَتِنَا وَ لَمْ يُحْسِنِ الْقُرْآنَ عُلِّمَ فِي قَبْرِهِ لِيَرْفَعَ اللَّهُ بِهِ مِنْ دَرَجَتِهِ فَإِنَّ دَرَجَاتِ الْجَنَّةِ عَلَى قَدْرِ آيَاتِ الْقُرْآنِ يُقَالُ لَه

“I heard Musa ibn Ja’far (a.s.) asking a man, ‘Do you like to live forever in this world’? The man said, ‘Yes, I do so.’ The Imam asked, ‘Why would you do so?’ The man said, ‘So that I can read {Say, "He is God, the One"}’ The Imam (a.s.) remained calm for a while and after an hour said, ‘O Hafs, if any of our lovers a

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ حَمَلَةُ الْقُرْآنِ عُرَفَاءُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَ الْمُجْتَهِدُونَ قُوَّادُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةَ[1] وَ الرُّسُلُ سَادَةُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةَ.

“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘The carriers of the Holy Quran will be the most knowledgeable people of paradise, the assiduously working people will be the leaders in paradise and the messengers will be the masters of the people of paradise.’”

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ نَسِيَ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مُثِّلَتْ لَهُ فِي صُورَةٍ حَسَنَةٍ وَ دَرَجَةٍ رَفِيعَةٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَإِذَا رَآهَا قَالَ مَا أَنْتِ مَا أَحْسَنَكِ لَيْتَكِ لِي فَيَقُولُ أَ مَا تَعْرِفُنِي أَنَا سُورَةُ كَذَا وَ كَذَا وَ لَوْ لَمْ تَنْسَنِي رَفَعْتُكَ إِلَى هَذَا.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If one forgets a chapter from the Holy Quran it will appear to him in the best form and high position in paradise. When he will see it he will say how beautiful you are! I wish you were mine.’ It will ask, ‘Do you not know me? I am chapter so and so, had you not forgotten me I would ha

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ عَلَيَّ دَيْناً كَثِيراً وَ قَدْ دَخَلَنِي مَا كَانَ الْقُرْآنُ يَتَفَلَّتُ مِنِّي فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع- الْقُرْآنَ الْقُرْآنَ إِنَّ الْآيَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ وَ السُّورَةَ لَتَجِي‌ءُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حَتَّى تَصْعَدَ أَلْفَ دَرَجَةٍ يَعْنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَتَقُولُ لَوْ حَفِظْتَنِي لَبَلَغْتُ بِكَ هَاهُنَا.

‘The Holy Quran, the Holy Quran! On the Day of Judgment the chapter and the verse of the Holy Quran will come and say, ‘Had you not forgotten me I would have taken you today to such and such high ranks in paradise.’”

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا كَانَ يَعْلَمُ السُّورَةَ ثُمَّ نَسِيَهَا أَوْ تَرَكَهَا وَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَشْرَفَتْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ فَوْقٍ فِي أَحْسَنِ صُورَةٍ فَتَقُولُ تَعْرِفُنِي فَيَقُولُ لَا فَتَقُولُ أَنَا سُورَةُ كَذَا وَ كَذَا لَمْ تَعْمَلْ بِي وَ تَرَكْتَنِي أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ لَوْ عَمِلْتَ بِي لَبَلَغْتُ بِكَ هَذِهِ الدَّرَجَةَ وَ أَشَارَتْ بِيَدِهَا إِلَى فَوْقِهَا.

“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘If a man knows a chapter then forgets it or just leaves it and will enter paradise, it will appear above him in the best form and ask, “Do you know me?” He will say, ‘No, I do not know you. ’ It will say, “I am chapter so and so, you did not follow me and left me. I swear by Allah

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص‌ نَوِّرُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ بِتِلَاوَةِ الْقُرْآنِ وَ لَا تَتَّخِذُوهَا قُبُوراً كَمَا فَعَلَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَ النَّصَارَى صَلَّوْا فِي الْكَنَائِسِ وَ الْبِيَعِ‌[1] وَ عَطَّلُوا بُيُوتَهُمْ فَإِنَّ الْبَيْتَ إِذَا كَثُرَ فِيهِ تِلَاوَةُ الْقُرْآنِ كَثُرَ خَيْرُهُ وَ اتَّسَعَ أَهْلُهُ وَ أَضَاءَ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ كَمَا تُضِي‌ءُ نُجُومُ السَّمَاءِ لِأَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا.

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع‌ الْبَيْتُ الَّذِي يُقْرَأُ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ وَ يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِيهِ تَكْثُرُ بَرَكَتُهُ وَ تَحْضُرُهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ تَهْجُرُهُ الشَّيَاطِينُ وَ يُضِي‌ءُ لِأَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ كَمَا تُضِي‌ءُ الْكَوَاكِبُ‌[4] لِأَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ وَ إِنَّ الْبَيْتَ الَّذِي لَا يُقْرَأُ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ وَ لَا يُذْكَرُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِيهِ تَقِلُّ بَرَكَتُهُ وَ تَهْجُرُهُ الْمَلَا

مَنْ قَرَأَ آيَةً مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ قَائِماً يُكْتَبُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ مِائَةُ حَسَنَةٍ فَإِذَا قَرَأَهَا فِي غَيْرِ صَلَاةٍ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ- عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ وَ إِنِ اسْتَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ حَسَنَةً وَ إِنْ خَتَمَ الْقُرْآنَ لَيْلًا صَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ وَ إِنْ خَتَمَهُ نَهَاراً صَلَّتْ عَلَيْهِ الْحَفَظَ

“Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever reads from the Holy Quran in his prayer in a standing position, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, writes down for him the reward for one hundred good deeds for each letter and if one reads from the Holy Quran without being in prayer, Allah writes down for him the rewa

دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَقَالَ لَهُ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ أَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فِي لَيْلَةٍ فَقَالَ لَا قَالَ فَفِي لَيْلَتَيْنِ قَالَ لَا قَالَ فَفِي ثَلَاثٍ قَالَ هَا وَ أَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ إِنَّ لِرَمَضَانَ حَقّاً وَ حُرْمَةً لَا يُشْبِهُهُ شَيْ‌ءٌ مِنَ الشُّهُورِ[2] وَ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ ص يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُهُمُ الْقُرْآنَ فِي شَهْرٍ أَو

مَنْ قَرَأَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ مَرَّةً بُورِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ بُورِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ بُورِكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَ عَلَى جِيرَانِهِ وَ مَنْ قَرَأَهَا اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ مَرَّةً بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ قَصْراً فِي الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ الْحَفَظَةُ اذْهَبُوا بِنَا إِلَى قُصُورِ أَخِينَا فُلَانٍ فَنَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا وَ مَنْ قَر

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Badr from Muhammad ibn Marwan from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Whoever reads Chapter 1 12 of the Holy Quran once receives blessings. Whoever reads it twice, he and his family receive blessings. Whoever reads it three times, he,

لَا تَمَلُّوا مِنْ قِرَاءَةِ- إِذا زُلْزِلَتِ الْأَرْضُ زِلْزالَها فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ كَانَتْ قِرَاءَتُهُ بِهَا فِي نَوَافِلِهِ لَمْ يُصِبْهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِزَلْزَلَةٍ أَبَداً وَ لَمْ يَمُتْ بِهَا وَ لَا بِصَاعِقَةٍ وَ لَا بِآفَةٍ مِنْ آفَاتِ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَمُوتَ وَ إِذَا مَاتَ نَزَلَ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّهِ فَيَقْعُدُ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا مَلَكَ الْمَوْتِ ارْفُقْ بِوَلِيِّ الل

“Do not be dismayed in reading Chapter 99 of the Holy Quran. If one reads it in the optional prayers, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, protects him, all the time, against earthquakes and will not die thereby or by lightening and of worldly calamities until the time of his death. إِذَا سَلَّمَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَجْهَرْ بِسَلَامِهِ لَا يَقُولُ سَلَّمْتُ فَلَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيَّ وَ لَعَلَّهُ يَكُونُ قَدْ سَلَّمَ وَ لَمْ يُسْمِعْهُمْ فَإِذَا رَدَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَجْهَرْ بِرَدِّهِ وَ لَا يَقُولُ الْمُسَلِّمُ سَلَّمْتُ فَلَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيَّ ثُمَّ قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَقُولُ لَا تَغْضَبُوا وَ لَا تُغْضِبُوا أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ وَ أَطِيبُوا الْكَلَامَ وَ صَلُّوا بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّاسُ نِيَامٌ ت

“When anyone of you offers the greeting of peace he should say it loud and clear so he will not complain that no one answered his greeting of peace. He may have offered, but no one may have heard it and when any one of you answers the greeting he should say it loud and clear so that the one offering it will not say, ‘I

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِذَا قُمْتَ بِاللَّيْلِ فَاسْتَكْ فَإِنَّ الْمَلَكَ يَأْتِيكَ فَيَضَعُ فَاهُ عَلَى فِيكَ وَ لَيْسَ مِنْ حَرْفٍ تَتْلُوهُ وَ تَنْطِقُ بِهِ إِلَّا صَعِدَ بِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَلْيَكُنْ فُوكَ طَيِّبَ الرِّيحِ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘When you wake up during the night (for Salah (prayer)) you should brush your teeth; the angel comes and places his mouth over your mouth. Every word you say, he climbs with it to the heaven. Your mouth should have a pleasant smell.’”

بَيْنَا أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع قَاعِدٌ وَ مَعَهُ ابْنُهُ مُحَمَّدٌ إِذْ قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ ائْتِنِي بِإِنَاءٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ[2] فَأَتَاهُ بِهِ فَصَبَّهُ بِيَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي‌[3] جَعَلَ الْمَاءَ طَهُوراً وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ نَجِساً ثُمَّ اسْتَنْجَى فَقَالَ- اللَّهُمَّ حَصِّنْ فَرْجِي وَ أَعِفَّهُ وَ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَتِي وَ حَرِّمْهَا عَلَى النَّارِ ثُمَّ اسْتَنْش

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Qasim af-Khazzaz, from ’Abd af-Rahman ibn Kathir who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, has said that once, ’Amir al-Mu’minin, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, while Muhammad, his son was present, asked him to bring water for Wudu’. إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَتَبَسَّمَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ رَأَيْنَاكَ رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ فَتَبَسَّمْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ عَجِبْتُ لِمَلَكَيْنِ هَبَطَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ يَلْتَمِسَانِ عَبْداً مُؤْمِناً صَالِحاً فِي مُصَلًّى كَانَ يُصَلِّي فِيهِ لِيَكْتُبَا لَهُ عَمَلَهُ فِي يَوْمِهِ وَ لَيْلَتِهِ فَلَمْ يَجِدَاهُ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ فَعَرَجَا إِلَى السَّم

He was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, we saw you. Why did you raise your head t

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَنْ عَادَ امْرَأً مُسْلِماً فِي مَرَضِهِ صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ إِنْ كَانَ صَبَاحاً حَتَّى يُمْسُوا وَ إِنْ كَانَ مَسَاءً حَتَّى يُصْبِحُوا مَعَ أَنَّ لَهُ خَرِيفاً فِي الْجَنَّةِ[3].

“I heard abu Ja’far (a.s.), say, ‘If one visits a Muslim patient, that day seventy thousand angels pray for him from morning until night, if the visit is in the morning and until morning, if the visit takes place in the evening, and such visitor will have a house in paradise.”’

أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ عَادَ مُؤْمِناً خَاضَ فِي الرَّحْمَةِ خَوْضاً فَإِذَا جَلَسَ غَمَرَتْهُ الرَّحْمَةُ فَإِذَا انْصَرَفَ وَكَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لَهُ وَ يَسْتَرْحِمُونَ عَلَيْهِ وَ يَقُولُونَ طِبْتَ وَ طَابَتْ لَكَ الْجَنَّةُ إِلَى تِلْكَ السَّاعَةِ مِنْ غَدٍ وَ كَانَ لَهُ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ خَرِيفٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ قُلْتُ وَ مَا الْخَرِيفُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ قَالَ زَاوِيَةٌ فِي الْجَن

“Abu Ja’far (a.s.), has said, ‘If a believing person visits a believing patient, he enters deep into mercy, and when he sits down, mercy covers him altogether. When he returns, Allah assigns seventy thousand angels to ask forgiveness and mercy for him saying, “You did a good deed, may paradise become your dwelling,” un

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ عَادَ مَرِيضاً نَادَاهُ مُنَادٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِاسْمِهِ يَا فُلَانُ طِبْتَ وَ طَابَ لَكَ مَمْشَاكَ بِثَوَابٍ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ[2].

‘If one visits a patient, a caller from the heaven calls, “O so and so, you have done a good deed. I congratulate you for your walking to paradise.’””

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِذَا حِيلَ بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ الْكَلَامِ‌[5] أَتَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص وَ مَنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ‌[6] فَجَلَسَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَ الْآخَرُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ فَيَقُولُ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَمَّا مَا كُنْتَ تَرْجُو فَهُوَ ذَا أَمَامَكَ وَ أَمَّا مَا كُنْتَ تَخَافُ مِنْهُ فَقَدْ أَمِنْتَ مِنْهُ ثُمَّ يُفْتَحُ لَهُ بَابٌ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ هَذَا مَنْزِلُكَ مِنَ الْجَنَّة

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that when a dying person loses the ability to speak, the Messenger of Allah comes to him along with whomever Allah wants. The Messenger of Allah sits near his right side and the other on his left side. The Messenger of Allah then says, ‘What you hoped for is in front of you, you are saf

مِنْكُمْ وَ اللَّهِ يُقْبَلُ وَ لَكُمْ وَ اللَّهِ يُغْفَرُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بَيْنَ أَحَدِكُمْ‌[1] وَ بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغْتَبِطَ وَ يَرَى السُّرُورَ وَ قُرَّةَ الْعَيْنِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَبْلُغَ نَفْسُهُ هَاهُنَا وَ أَوْمَأَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى حَلْقِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّهُ إِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ وَ احْتُضِرَ حَضَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص وَ عَلِيٌّ ع وَ جَبْرَئِيلُ وَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ ع فَيَدْنُو مِنْهُ عَلِيٌّ ع فَيَقُولُ يَا رَسُولَ اللّ

“I heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) say, ‘Only from you, by Allah, it (good deeds) is accepted and only your sins are forgiven. There is nothing between any one of you and bliss, joy and the delight of heart, except the time when the soul reaches here’ - pointing to his throat he continued - ‘and when that time comes the Me

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ‌ فَلَوْ لا إِذا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ‌ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ‌ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صادِقِينَ‌[1] فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ ثُمَّ أُرِيَ مَنْزِلَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَيَقُولُ رُدُّونِي إِلَى الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى أُخْبِرَ أَهْلِي بِمَا أَرَى فَيُقَالُ لَهُ لَيْسَ إِلَى ذَلِكَ سَبِيلٌ.

“Once I said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘These are the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, “When it (the soul) reaches the throat. ... if you are truthful.’” (56: 82- 87) The Imam said, ‘When it reaches the throat then it sees its dwelling in paradise and says, “Return me to the worldly life so I can inform my f

رَوَى أَصْحَابُنَا أَنَّ حَدَّ الْقَبْرِ إِلَى التَّرْقُوَةِ وَ قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى الثَّدْيِ وَ قَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ قَامَةِ الرَّجُلِ حَتَّى يُمَدَّ الثَّوْبُ عَلَى رَأْسِ مَنْ فِي الْقَبْرِ وَ أَمَّا اللَّحْدُ فَبِقَدْرِ مَا يُمْكِنُ فِيهِ الْجُلُوسُ قَالَ وَ لَمَّا حَضَرَ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع الْوَفَاةُ أُغْمِيَ عَلَيْهِ فَبَقِيَ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ رَفَعَ عَنْهُ الثَّوْبَ ثُمَّ قَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَو

the depth of the grave is up to one’s collarbones. Certain ones have said that it is up to one’s chest and still others say that it is up to the whole height of a man, so one can pull the sheet over the head of those in the grave. The depth of Lahad is as high as one can sit straight inside. He (the narrator) has said

امْشِ أَمَامَ جَنَازَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ الْعَارِفِ وَ لَا تَمْشِ أَمَامَ جَنَازَةِ الْجَاحِدِ فَإِنَّ أَمَامَ جَنَازَةِ الْمُسْلِمِ مَلَائِكَةً يُسْرِعُونَ بِهِ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَ إِنَّ أَمَامَ جَنَازَةِ الْكَافِرِ مَلَائِكَةً يُسْرِعُونَ بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ[2].

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Walk in front of the coffin of a knowledgeable Muslim but do not walk in front of the coffin of a rejecter (of belief). In front of the coffin of a Muslim, angels who hasten to paradise walk, but in front of the coffin of an unbeliever, angels walk who hasten with him (the unbeliever)
