مَا تَخَتَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِلَّا يَسِيراً حَتَّى تَرَكَهُ[2].
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah used the ring for a very little time and then he (the Messenger of Allah) abandoned it.’”
مَا تَخَتَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِلَّا يَسِيراً حَتَّى تَرَكَهُ[2].

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص كَانَ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would wear the ring on his right hand.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْعَقِيقِ فَإِنَّهُ مُبَارَكٌ وَ مَنْ تَخَتَّمَ بِالْعَقِيقِ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُقْضَى لَهُ بِالْحُسْنَى.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Wear a ring of carnelian; it is blessed and one who uses a ring of carnelian has a good chance to end up in goodness.’”
رَأَيْتُ فِي يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع فَصَّ عَقِيقٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا الْفَصُّ فَقَالَ عَقِيقٌ رُومِيٌّ وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ تَخَتَّمَ بِالْعَقِيقِ قُضِيَتْ حَوَائِجُهُ.
“If one uses carnelian as his ring his wishes come true.’””
شَكَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص أَنَّهُ قُطِعَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّرِيقُ فَقَالَ ص هَلَّا تَخَتَّمْتَ بِالْعَقِيقِ فَإِنَّهُ يَحْرُسُ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ.
“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said that once a man complained before the Messenger of Allah, O Allah grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to your cause, that on the road he was robbed. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Why did you not wear the ring of ‘Aqiq (carnelian) which is protects from
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْيَوَاقِيتِ فَإِنَّهَا تَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ.
“The Messenger of Allah (saww) has said, ‘You must use rubies as rings; they disallow poverty.’”
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى ع وَ فِي إِصْبَعِهِ خَاتَمٌ فَصُّهُ فَيْرُوزَجٌ نَقْشُهُ اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ[1] فَأَدَمْتُ النَّظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ تُدِيمُ النَّظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ كَانَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع خَاتَمٌ فَصُّهُ فَيْرُوزَجٌ نَقْشُهُ اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ فَقَالَ أَ تَعْرِفُهُ قُلْتُ لَا فَقَالَ هَذَا هُوَ تَدْرِي مَا سَبَبُهُ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ هَذَا حَجَرٌ أَه
“I once visited abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), and on his finger was a ring with a stone which was turquoise with an engraving that said, ’Allah is the owner’. I continued looking on it and he (the Imam) asked, ’Why do you continue looking at it?’ I replied, ‘I have received information that Ali, ’Amir al-Mu’minin had a r
كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّ ص مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَبِي ع الْعِزَّةُ لِلَّهِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the engraving on the ring of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’. ذَكَرْنَا خَاتَمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَقَالَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَهُ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَدَعَا بِحُقٍّ مَخْتُومٍ فَفَتَحَهُ وَ أَخْرَجَهُ فِي قُطْنَةٍ فَإِذَا حَلْقَةُ فِضَّةٍ وَ فِيهِ فَصٌّ أَسْوَدُ عَلَيْهِ مَكْتُوبٌ سَطْرَانِ- مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ فَصَّ النَّبِيِّ ص أَسْوَدُ.
“Once we mentioned the ring of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and he (the Imam) said, ‘Will you like if I show you?’ I replied, ‘Yes, (I will be delighted to see it).’ He (the Imam) then asked for a sealed package and took from it a
قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّا رُوِّينَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص كَانَ يَسْتَنْجِي وَ خَاتَمُهُ فِي إِصْبَعِهِ وَ كَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص- مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَدَقُوا قُلْتُ فَيَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ نَفْعَلَ قَالَ إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ كَانُوا يَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي الْيَدِ الْيُمْنَى وَ إِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمْ تَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي الْيُسْرَى قَالَ فَسَك
“I once said to Abu al-Hasan, al-Thani (a.s.), ‘We narrate in Hadith that the Messenger of Allah (saww) after using the rest room performed cleansing while wearing his ring on his finger and so also did ’Amir al-Mu’minin. The engraving on the ring of the Messenger of Allah said, ‘Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’. He
كَانَ نَعْلُ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص وَ قَائِمَتُهُ فِضَّةً وَ كَانَ بَيْنَ ذَلِكَ حَلَقٌ مِنْ فِضَّةٍ وَ لَبِسْتُ دِرْعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَكُنْتُ أَسْحَبُهَا وَ فِيهَا ثَلَاثُ حَلَقَاتِ فِضَّةٍ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهَا وَ ثِنْتَانِ مِنْ خَلْفِهَا.

أَنَّ حِلْيَةَ سَيْفِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص كَانَتْ فِضَّةً كُلُّهَا قَائِمَتُهُ وَ قِبَاعُهُ.
‘The sword of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was decorated with gold and silver, as well as its Qa’imah (handle) and Qiba‘ (hilt).”’
إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص تَخَتَّمَ فِي يَسَارِهِ بِخَاتَمٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَ طَفِقَ النَّاسُ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى عَلَى خِنْصِرِهِ الْيُسْرَى حَتَّى رَجَعَ إِلَى الْبَيْتِ فَرَمَى بِهِ فَمَا لَبِسَهُ. - عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْوَشَّاءِ عَنِ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ حَاتِمِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مِثْلَهُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, wore the ring on his left hand which was of gold then he appeared among people who continued staring at it. دَخَلَ قَوْمٌ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع فَقَالُوا يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ نَرَى فِي مَنْزِلِكَ أَشْيَاءَ نَكْرَهُهَا وَ إِذَا فِي مَنْزِلِهِ بُسُطٌ وَ نَمَارِقُ فَقَالَ ع إِنَّا نَتَزَوَّجُ النِّسَاءَ فَنُعْطِيهِنَّ مُهُورَهُنَّ فَيَشْتَرِينَ مَا شِئْنَ لَيْسَ لَنَا مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ.
In his home there were pleasing spreading and cushions. He (the Imam) (a.s.), said, ‘We marry women and give them their mahr (dower). They buy whatever they want and we do not have anything to say about it.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا يَمْسَحْ أَحَدُكُمْ بِثَوْبِ مَنْ لَمْ يَكْسَهُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You must not touch the clothes of one who has not yet worn them.’”
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الشَّيْبِ فِي لِحْيَتِهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص نُورٌ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ شَابَ شَيْبَةً فِي الْإِسْلَامِ كَانَتْ لَهُ نُوراً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ قَالَ فَخَضَبَ الرَّجُلُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْخِضَابَ قَالَ نُورٌ وَ إِسْلَامٌ فَخَضَبَ الرَّجُلُ بِالسَّوَادِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص نُورٌ وَ إِسْلَامٌ وَ إِيمَانٌ وَ مَحَبَّةٌ إِلَى نِسَائِك
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that once a man came to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Messenger of Allah) looked at the signs of oldness in his beard. The Holy Prophet said, ‘It is light.’ He (the Messenger of Allah) then said,
دَخَلَ قَوْمٌ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ص فَرَأَوْهُ مُخْتَضِباً بِالسَّوَادِ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَمَدَّ يَدَهُ إِلَى لِحْيَتِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فِي غَزَاةٍ غَزَاهَا أَنْ يَخْتَضِبُوا بِالسَّوَادِ لِيَقْوَوْا بِهِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ.
‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, in an armed expedition commanded them to apply black dye so they can overpower the pagans.’”
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ خِضَابِ اللِّحْيَةِ وَ الرَّأْسِ أَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ فَقَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ إِنَّ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ص لَمْ يَخْتَضِبْ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا مَنَعَهُ قَوْلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِنَّ هَذِهِ سَتُخْضَبُ مِنْ هَذِهِ.
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of coloring the beard and head if it is of Sunnah. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, it is of the Sunnah .’ I then said, ‘’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), did not use dye.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is because of the words of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muha
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ خِضَابِ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالَ قَدْ خَضَبَ النَّبِيُّ ص وَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ وَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع بِالْكَتَمِ[2].
‘The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, applied it as well as al-Husayn and abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, with al- Katam (a plant that looks like myrtle and gives out a black dye).”’
خَضَبَ النَّبِيُّ ص وَ لَمْ يَمْنَعْ عَلِيّاً ع إِلَّا قَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ ص تَخْتَضِبُ هَذِهِ مِنْ هَذِهِ وَ قَدْ خَضَبَ الْحُسَيْنُ وَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, applied hair dye and ’Amir al-Mu’minin did not apply it because of the words of the Holy Prophet, ‘This will be dyed with this’ . Al-Husayn and abu Ja’far, ‘Alayhi
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص نَفَقَةُ دِرْهَمٍ فِي الْخِضَابِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ نَفَقَةِ دِرْهَمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ فِيهِ أَرْبَعَ عَشْرَةَ خَصْلَةً يَطْرُدُ الرِّيحَ مِنَ الْأُذُنَيْنِ وَ يَجْلُو الْغِشَاءَ عَنِ الْبَصَرِ وَ يُلَيِّنُ الْخَيَاشِيمَ وَ يُطَيِّبُ النَّكْهَةَ وَ يَشُدُّ اللِّثَةَ وَ يَذْهَبُ بِالْغَشَيَانِ وَ يُقِلُّ وَسْوَسَةَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَ تَفْرَحُ بِهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ يَسْتَبْشِرُ بِهِ الْمُؤْمِنُ وَ
“The Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Spending one dirham on hair dye is better than spending one dirham in the way of Allah. There are fourteen advantages in it. It dispels air from the ears, brightens gloominess from the eyes, soft
سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ص يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص اخْتَضِبُوا بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ وَ يُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ وَ يُطَيِّبُ الرِّيحَ وَ يُسَكِّنُ الزَّوْجَةَ.
“I once heard Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Apply hair dye with henna, it increases eyesight, grows hair, sweetens the smell and comforts the wife.’”
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَا تَقُولُ فِي إِطَالَةِ الشَّعْرِ فَقَالَ كَانَ أَصْحَابُ مُحَمَّدٍ ص مُشْعِرِينَ يَعْنِي الطَّمَ[1].
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about growing long hairs. He (the Imam) said that companions of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, clipped their hairs.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنِ اتَّخَذَ شَعْراً فَلْيُحْسِنْ وِلَايَتَهُ أَوْ لِيَجُزَّهُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘If one keeps hairs he must maintain them properly or clip them.”’
قُلْتُ لَهُ أَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَفْرُقُ شَعْرَهُ قَالَ لَا إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص كَانَ إِذَا طَالَ شَعْرُهُ كَانَ إِلَى شَحْمَةِ أُذُنِهِ.
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, parted his hairs. He (the Imam) said, ‘No, the Messenger of Allah would keep his hairs long enough to reach his ear lobe only.’”
قُلْتُ إِنَّهُمْ يَرْوُونَ أَنَّ الْفَرْقَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ قَالَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ قُلْتُ يَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ ص فَرَقَ قَالَ مَا فَرَقَ النَّبِيُّ ص وَ لَا كَانَ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ع تُمْسِكُ الشَّعْرَ.
“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘They narrated that parting the hairs is of Sunnah. He (the Imam) said, ‘Of the Sunnahl’ I said, ‘They think that the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, parted his hairs.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The Holy Proph
قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع الْفَرْقُ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ قَالَ لَا قُلْتُ فَهَلْ فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ كَيْفَ فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص وَ لَيْسَ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ قَالَ مَنْ أَصَابَهُ مَا أَصَابَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَفْرُقُ كَمَا فَرَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَقَدْ أَصَابَ سُنَّةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص وَ إِلَّا فَلَا قُلْتُ لَهُ كَيْفَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص حِينَ صُدَّ عَنِ الْبَيْتِ وَ ق
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if parting hairs is of Sunnah. He (the Imam) replied, ‘No, it is not of Sunnah.’ I then asked if the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, parted his hairs.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he (the Messenger of A
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِنَّ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ مِنَ الشَّارِبِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْإِطَارَ[1].
The mustache must be trimmed until the lips become visible.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا يُطَوِّلَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ شَارِبَهُ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَتَّخِذُهُ مَخْبَأً يَسْتَتِرُ بِهِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘You must not allow your mustache to grow long; Satan makes it his hiding place and cover.’”
مَرَّ بِالنَّبِيِّ ص رَجُلٌ طَوِيلُ اللِّحْيَةِ فَقَالَ مَا كَانَ عَلَى هَذَا لَوْ هَيَّأَ مِنْ لِحْيَتِهِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلَ فَهَيَّأَ لِحْيَتَهُ بَيْنَ اللِّحْيَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَلَمَّا رَآهُ قَالَ هَكَذَا فَافْعَلُوا.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that a man with a long beard once passed by the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, who said, ‘He would not look like that had he prepared his beard.’ This remark reached that man and he prepared his beard, t
كَثْرَةُ تَسْرِيحِ الرَّأْسِ[2] تَذْهَبُ بِالْوَبَاءِ وَ تَجْلِبُ الرِّزْقَ وَ تَزِيدُ فِي الْجِمَاعِ.
“The Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Combing of the head very often removes al-Waba’ (fever), attracts sustenance and increases one’s ability to go to bed with one’s wife.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص تَقْلِيمُ الْأَظْفَارِ يَمْنَعُ الدَّاءَ الْأَعْظَمَ وَ يُدِرُّ الرِّزْقَ.

قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع مَنْ أَخَذَ مِنْ أَظْفَارِهِ وَ شَارِبِهِ كُلَّ جُمُعَةٍ وَ قَالَ حِينَ يَأْخُذُ- بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَ بِاللَّهِ وَ عَلَى سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص لَمْ يَسْقُطْ مِنْهُ قُلَامَةٌ وَ لَا جُزَازَةٌ إِلَّا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا عِتْقَ نَسَمَةٍ وَ لَا يَمْرَضُ إِلَّا مَرَضَهُ الَّذِي يَمُوتُ فِيهِ.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لِلرِّجَالِ قُصُّوا أَظَافِيرَكُمْ وَ لِلنِّسَاءِ اتْرُكْنَ فَإِنَّهُ أَزْيَنُ لَكُنَّ.
‘Men must clip their fingernails and women must keep them because it is more beautifying for them.’”
احْتَبَسَ الْوَحْيُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ص فَقِيلَ لَهُ احْتَبَسَ الْوَحْيُ عَنْكَ فَقَالَ ص وَ كَيْفَ لَا يَحْتَبِسُ وَ أَنْتُمْ لَا تُقَلِّمُونَ أَظْفَارَكُمْ وَ لَا تُنَقُّونَ رَوَاجِبَكُمْ[1].
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’Once a lapse took place in coming of divine revelation to the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Messenger of Allah) was asked, ’Has coming of divine revelation to you stopped?’ He (the Messenger of Alla
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَكْتَحِلُ بِالْإِثْمِدِ[4] إِذَا أَوَى إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ وَتْراً وَتْراً.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, applied al-Athmad (antimony) to his eyes before going to bed, once in each eye. 5 ”
إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص كَانَ يَكْتَحِلُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنَامَ أَرْبَعاً فِي الْيُمْنَى وَ ثَلَاثاً فِي الْيُسْرَى.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, applied eye powder before going to sleep-four times in the right and three in the left.’”
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مِنْ أَخْلَاقِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ ع السِّوَاكُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’It is of the moral discipline of the prophets to brush one’s teeth.’”
السِّوَاكُ مِنْ سُنَنِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Brushing one’s teeth is of the Sunnah and moral discipline of the prophets.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَا زَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع يُوصِينِي بِالسِّوَاكِ حَتَّى خَشِيتُ أَنْ أَدْرَدَ وَ أُحْفِيَ.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَوْصَانِي جَبْرَئِيلُ ع بِالسِّوَاكِ حَتَّى خِفْتُ عَلَى أَسْنَانِي.

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Jibril recommend me to brush my te
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَا لِي أَرَاكُمْ قُلْحاً مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَسْتَاكُونَ[1].
“He (the Imam) has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, once said, ‘Why do I see you, people, with yellow teeth, what is the matter with you, why do you not brush your teeth?”
فِي وَصِيَّةِ النَّبِيِّ ص لِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ص عَلَيْكَ بِالسِّوَاكِ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ.
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that it is in the will of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, to ’Amir al- Mu’minin that says, ‘You must brush your teeth for every Salat (prayer).”’
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ كانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَدْخُلِ الْحَمَّامَ إِلَّا بِمِئْزَرٍ.
‘If one believes in Allah and in the life hereafter, he must not enter a bathhouse without a loincloth.’”
دَخَلْتُ أَنَا وَ أَبِي وَ جَدِّي وَ عَمِّي حَمَّاماً بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَإِذَا رَجُلٌ فِي بَيْتِ الْمَسْلَخِ فَقَالَ لَنَا مِمَّنِ الْقَوْمُ فَقُلْنَا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِرَاقِ فَقَالَ وَ أَيُّ الْعِرَاقِ قُلْنَا كُوفِيُّونَ فَقَالَ مَرْحَباً بِكُمْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكُوفَةِ أَنْتُمُ الشِّعَارُ[1] دُونَ الدِّثَارِ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا يَمْنَعُكُمْ مِنَ الْأُزُرِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ عَوْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا تَغْسِلُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ بِطِينِ مِصْرَ فَإِنَّهُ يَذْهَبُ بِالْغَيْرَةِ وَ يُورِثُ الدِّيَاثَةَ.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا يَدْخُلِ الرَّجُلُ مَعَ ابْنِهِ الْحَمَّامَ فَيَنْظُرَ إِلَى عَوْرَتِهِ وَ قَالَ لَيْسَ لِلْوَالِدَيْنِ أَنْ يَنْظُرَا إِلَى عَوْرَةِ الْوَلَدِ وَ لَيْسَ لِلْوَلَدِ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى عَوْرَةِ الْوَالِدِ وَ قَالَ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص النَّاظِرَ وَ الْمَنْظُورَ إِلَيْهِ فِي الْحَمَّامِ بِلَا مِئْزَرٍ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘A man must not enter a bathhouse with his son where he can look at his private parts.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Parents cannot look at the private parts of
لَمَّا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ رَسُولَهُ ص بِإِظْهَارِ الْإِسْلَامِ وَ ظَهَرَ الْوَحْيُ رَأَى قِلَّةً مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ كَثْرَةً مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَاهْتَمَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص هَمّاً شَدِيداً فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ إِلَيْهِ جَبْرَئِيلَ ع بِسِدْرٍ مِنْ سِدْرَةِ الْمُنْتَهَى فَغَسَلَ بِهِ رَأْسَهُ فَجَلَا بِهِ هَمَّهُ.
“Ali (a.s.), has said, ‘When Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, commanded the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, to publicly announce his mission, he saw the small number of Muslims and the large number of the pagans. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ كانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلَا يَتْرُكْ عَانَتَهُ فَوْقَ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً وَ لَا يَحِلُّ لِامْرَأَةٍ تُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ تَدَعَ ذَلِكَ مِنْهَا فَوْقَ عِشْرِينَ يَوْماً.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘One who believes in Allah and in the Day of Judgment, must not keep his pubic hairs for more than forty days. It is not lawful for a woman who believes
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَطْلِي الْعَانَةَ وَ مَا تَحْتَ الْأَلْيَتَيْنِ فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ.
