سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ[1].
“This is concerning my question before abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about withdrawing before semen discharge. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is up to the man’s choice.’”
لَا بَأْسَ بِالْعَزْلِ عَنِ الْمَرْأَةِ الْحُرَّةِ إِنْ أَحَبَّ صَاحِبُهَا وَ إِنْ كَرِهَتْ لَيْسَ لَهَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ.
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful to withdraw before semen discharge from the woman who is free, if he likes even if she may not like. She does not have any say in it.’”
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الْعَزْلِ فَقَالَ ذَاكَ إِلَى الرَّجُلِ يَصْرِفُهُ حَيْثُ شَاءَ.
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about withdrawing before semen discharge. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is up to the man. He deals with it as he chooses.’”
كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع لَا يَرَى بِالْعَزْلِ بَأْساً فَقَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ- وَ إِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَ أَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلى أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَ لَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ قالُوا بَلى[2] فَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ الْمِيثَاقَ فَهُوَ خَارِجٌ وَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى صَخْرَةٍ صَمَّاءَ.

Abu Ali al-Ash’ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from Safwan from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from ‘Abd al-Rahman al- Fiaddhdha’ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), did not consider withdrawing before semen discharge as unlawful and he (the Imam) read this
