سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ مَا أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْكُمْ وَ إِنَّ النَّاسَ سَلَكُوا سُبُلًا شَتَّى فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَخَذَ بِرَأْيِهِ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ وَ مِنْهُمْ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الرِّوَايَةَ وَ إِنَّكُمْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِأَمْرٍ لَهُ أَصْلٌ فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْوَرَعِ وَ الِاجْتِهَادِ وَ اشْهَدُوا الْجَنَائِزَ وَ عُودُوا الْمَرْضَى وَ احْضُرُوا مَعَ قَوْمِكُمْ
‘By Allah (azwj)! There is no one from the people more beloved to me (asws) than you are, and that the people have gone in various directions. So among them is the ‘one’ who takes (religion) to his own opinion, and among them is one who follows his own desires, and among them is the one who follows the narration (Al-Ri
