إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهَا الْمَاءَ الْمَالِحَ أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحاً وَ الْمَاءَ الْعَذْبَ أَرْبَعِينَ صَبَاحاً حَتَّى إِذَا الْتَقَتْ وَ اخْتَلَطَتْ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ قَبْضَةً فَعَرَكَهَا عَرْكاً شَدِيداً جَمِيعاً ثُمَّ فَرَّقَهَا فِرْقَتَيْنِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْ كُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا عُنُقٌ مِثْلُ[4] عُنُقِ الذَّرِّ فَأَخَذَ عُنُقٌ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَ عُنُقٌ إِلَى النَّارِ. ح
‘Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic Created the earth, then Sent to it the salty water for forty mornings, and the sweet water for forty mornings until they met and got mixed.
