سُئِلَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ لَوْ شاءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً واحِدَةً وَ لا يَزالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ إِلَّا مَنْ رَحِمَ رَبُّكَ[1] فَقَالَ كَانُوا أُمَّةً واحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ لِيَتَّخِذَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْحُجَّةَ.
