سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ وَ قَدْ سُئِلَ عَنِ الطِّلَاءِ فَقَالَ إِنْ طُبِخَ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ مِنْهُ اثْنَانِ وَ يَبْقَى وَاحِدٌ فَهُوَ حَلَالٌ وَ مَا كَانَ دُونَ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ فِيهِ خَيْرٌ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, when he was asked about al-Tila’; ‘If it is cooked and boiled until its two-thirds have evaporated and only one-third has remained it then is lawful for use and if it has evaporated less it is devoid of goodness.’”
