سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- وَ مَنْ قُتِلَ مَظْلُوماً فَقَدْ جَعَلْنا لِوَلِيِّهِ سُلْطاناً فَلا يُسْرِفْ فِي الْقَتْلِ قَالَ نَزَلَتْ فِي الْحُسَيْنِ ع لَوْ قُتِلَ أَهْلُ الْأَرْضِ بِهِ مَا كَانَ سَرَفاً.

364. From him, from Salih, from Al-Hajjaal, from one of his companions, who has reported: I asked Abu Abdullah (asws) about the Statement of Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic: “[17:33] and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying”. He (asws) said: ‘It was Revealed regarding Al-Husayn (asws). Even if all the people of the earth were to be killed for it, it would not be excessive’.
