1. Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from al-Hassan ibn Ali al-Washsha’ from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from ‘Udaym ibn al-Hurr who has said the following: “I once heard abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘Allah, most Blessed, most High, has established a certain limit for women every month.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hammad from al-Halabiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the words of Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, ‘. . . if you doubt . . (65:4) He (the Imam) said, ‘Whatever takes place after a month is doubtful.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Ali ibn Ahmad ibn ‘Ushaym from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn abu Nasr who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the minimum and maximum period of time of Hayd (menses). He (the Imam) said, ‘It is three days and its maximum is not more than ten days.’”

Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Mu‘awiyah ibn ‘Ammar who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘The minimum duration of Hayd (menses) is three days and its maximum is ten days.’”

Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan and Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father all from Safwan ibn Yahya who has said the following: “I once asked abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about the minimum duration of Hayd (menses). He (the Imam) said, ‘Its minimum is three days and the longest is ten days.’”
