لَا يَكُونُ الْقُرْءُ فِي أَقَلَّ مِنْ عَشَرَةِ أَيَّامٍ فَمَا زَادَ أَقَلُّ مَا يَكُونُ عَشَرَةٌ مِنْ حِينِ تَطْهُرُ إِلَى أَنْ تَرَى الدَّمَ.

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘The minimum Hayd (menses) free period is ten days, that is, the time from the end of one period of Hayd (menses) to the beginning of the second one.’”

The minimum duration of Hayd (menses) free period is ten days. This is because when a woman experiences Hayd (menses) it is of a greater amount and it takes ten days. It continues and as time passes and she grows older, the duration of her Hayd (menses) reduces to three days. In this condition it does not go higher and

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked, when I was in his presence, about the case of a woman who experiences a discharge of yellowish color. He (the Imam) said, ‘What is before Hayd (menses) is of Hayd (menses) and what is after Hayd (menses) is not Hayd (menses).”’

سُئِلَ عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهَا الدَّمُ فَلَا تَدْرِي أَ طَهُرَتْ أَمْ لَا قَالَ تَقُومُ قَائِماً وَ تُلْزِقُ بَطْنَهَا بِحَائِطٍ وَ تَسْتَدْخِلُ قُطْنَةً بَيْضَاءَ وَ تَرْفَعُ رِجْلَهَا الْيُمْنَى فَإِنْ خَرَجَ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْقُطْنَةِ مِثْلَ رَأْسِ الذُّبَابِ دَمٌ عَبِيطٌ لَمْ تَطْهُرْ[1] وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَخْرُجْ فَقَدْ طَهُرَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ وَ تُصَلِّي.

“Abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about the case of a woman who experiences her blood discharge to have stopped but does not know if she is Hayd-free or not. إِذَا أَرَادَتِ الْحَائِضُ أَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ فَلْتَسْتَدْخِلْ قُطْنَةً فَإِنْ خَرَجَ فِيهَا شَيْ‌ءٌ مِنَ الدَّمِ فَلَا تَغْتَسِلْ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَرَ شَيْئاً فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ وَ إِنْ رَأَتْ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ صُفْرَةً فَلْتَتَوَضَّأْ وَ لْتُصَلِّ.

الْمُسْتَحَاضَةُ إِذَا ثَقَبَ الدَّمُ الْكُرْسُفَ اغْتَسَلَتْ لِكُلِّ صَلَاتَيْنِ وَ لِلْفَجْرِ غُسْلًا- وَ إِنْ لَمْ يَجُزِ الدَّمُ الْكُرْسُفَ فَعَلَيْهَا الْغُسْلُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ مَرَّةً وَ الْوُضُوءُ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ وَ إِنْ أَرَادَ زَوْجُهَا أَنْ يَأْتِيَهَا فَحِينَ تَغْتَسِلُ هَذَا إِنْ كَانَ دَمُهَا عَبِيطاً وَ إِنْ كَانَتْ صُفْرَةً فَعَلَيْهَا الْوُضُوءُ.
