4. Abu Ali al-Ash‘ariy has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abd al-Jabbar from ibn Faddal from Tha’labah ibn Maymun from Muhammad ibn Muslim who has said the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), said, ‘Woad has affected my molar teeth. 5 ”

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from a number of his people from Ali ibn Asbat from his uncle Ya‘qub ibn Salim who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘At the time al-Husayn (a.s.), was murdered he had applied hair dye with woad. 5 ”

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from Yunus from abu Bakr al-Hadramiy who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about applying hair dye with woad. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful. At the time al-Husayn (a.s.), was murdered he had applied hair dye with woad. 5 ”

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from his father from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad al-Jawhariy from al-Husayn ibn ‘Umar ibn Yazid from his father who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘Applying black hair dye is entertaining for women and show one’s firmness to the enemy. 5 ”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from Fadalah ibn Ayyub from Hariz from a Mawla’ of Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, who has said the following: “I once heard Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, saying that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Apply hair dye with henna, it increases eyesight, grows hair, sweetens the smell and comforts the wife.’”
