Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from al-Hassan ibn al-Jahm who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), once showed me a pin made of iron and a powder container of bones and said that this belonged to abu al-Hassan with which he applied eye powder and I also apply eye powder to my eyes.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Ahmad ibn al-Mubarak from al-Husayn ibn al-Hassan ibn ‘Asem from his father who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’If one sleeps with eye powder containing Athmad (antimony) but without musk, he remains immune from Ma’ al-Aswad (a certain eye illness) all the time as long as he sleeps with it.”’
