Embarrassing the Recipient of a Favor

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى كَرِهَ لِي سِتَّ خِصَالٍ وَ كَرِهْتُهَا لِلْأَوْصِيَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِي وَ أَتْبَاعِهِمْ مِنْ بَعْدِي مِنْهَا الْمَنُّ بَعْدَ الصَّدَقَةِ.

The Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, “Allah, the most Blessed, the most High, dislikes to find six characteristics within me, and I dislike finding them with the executors of my wills from my descendents and their followers. Of

قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ الْمَنُّ يَهْدِمُ الصَّنِيعَةَ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Embarrassing a recipient, after giving charity destroys the virtue of this benevolent deed.’”
