Excellence of Excellent Merchandise to Sell

فِي الْجَيِّدِ دَعْوَتَانِ وَ فِي الرَّدِيِّ دَعْوَتَانِ‌ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الْجَيِّدِ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيكَ وَ فِيمَنْ بَاعَكَ وَ يُقَالُ لِصَاحِبِ الرَّدِيِّ لَا بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيكَ وَ لَا فِيمَنْ بَاعَكَ.

“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘There are two expressions for each of good and bad merchandise: To the owner of good merchandise it is said, “May Allah grant you blessings and the one who sold it to you.” To the owner of bad merchandise it is said, “Allah does not bless you and the one who sold it to you.’””

قَالَ لِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَيَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ تُعَالِجُ قُلْتُ أَبِيعُ الطَّعَامَ فَقَالَ لِي اشْتَرِ الْجَيِّدَ وَ بِعِ الْجَيِّدَ فَإِنَّ الْجَيِّدَ إِذَا بِعْتَهُ قِيلَ لَهُ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيكَ وَ فِيمَنْ بَاعَكَ.
