3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu ‘ Umayr from Jamil ibn Darraj who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about killing crows and disquieting them in al-Haram (the sacred area). He (the Imam) said, ‘You must not kill them. I was with Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), and he saw me troubling them. He (the Imam) said to me, ‘Do not kill them or trouble them; they do not trouble anything.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘ Abd Allah al-Barqiy from Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Sulayman from abu Ayyub al-Madiniy from Sulayman ibn Ja‘far al-Ja‘fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘On each wing of the Hoopoe in Assyrian language it is written, ‘Family of Muhammad are the best of creatures.’”

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ya’qub ibn Yazid from Ali ibn Ja’far who has said the following: “I once asked my brother, abu al-Hassan (a.s.), about Hoopoe, killing and slaughtering it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It must not be troubled or slaughtered, it is a very good bird.’”

It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith from Ali ibn Muhammad from abu Ayyub al-Madiniy from Sulayman Ja’fariy who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited killing hoopoes, shrike, al-Suwwam (a certain bird) and honey bees.’”
