2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Hisham ibn Salim who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, about eating fresh (raw) meat. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is the food of beasts.”’

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from al-Hassan ibn Ali from ‘Abd al-Samad ibn Bashir from ‘ Atiyyah brother of al-Mighra’ who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), that companions of al-Mughirah prohibit eating of meat which is dried up in the sun and fire has not touched it. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to eat it.’”

2. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith in a marfu‘ manner who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), if meat can be dried up by salting and leaving in the shade. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not unlawful to eat it because salt has changed it.’”

3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Musa ibn al-Hassan from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan, al-Thalith (a.s.), would say, ‘I have not used anything for food more inducing illnesses than dried up meat, that is, al-Qadid.’”

4. It is narrated from the narrator of the previous Hadith who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), would say, ‘Al-Qadid (dried up meat) is a bad kind of meat because it softens in the stomach and induces every kind of illness and it does not benefit anything, instead it harms.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from certain persons of his people in a marfu ‘ manner who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘There are two good things that never enter a bad stomach which they do not repair, and there are two bad things which never enter a good stomach which they do not damage. The two good things are pomegranate and warm water, and the two bad things are cheese and al-Qadid (dried up meat).”’

6. He has said that:Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Three things destroy the body; perhaps kill a person. One is eating of rotten meat, going to the bath with a full stomach and going to bed with old women. He has said that abu Ishaq al-Nahawandiy has added, going to bed with women when one’s stomach is full.’”
