نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَنْ كُلِّ مُسْكِرٍ فَكُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ فَالظُّرُوفُ الَّتِي يُصْنَعُ فِيهَا مِنْهُ فَقَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَ المُزَفَّتِ وَ الْحَنْتَمِ وَ النَّقِيرِ قُلْتُ وَ مَا ذَاكَ قَالَ الدُّبَّاءُ الْقَرْعُ وَ المُزَفَّتُ الدِّنَانُ وَ الْحَنْتَمُ جِرَارٌ خُضْرٌ وَ النَّقِيرُ خَشَبٌ كَانَتِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ يَنْقُرُونَهَا حَتَّى يَصِيرَ لَهَا أَجْوَافٌ يَنْبِذُونَ فِيهَا.
3. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from al-Hassan ibn Mahbub from Khalid ibn Jarir from abu al-Rabi’ al-Shamiy who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, prohibited all intoxicating substances, thus, all intoxicating substances are unlawful for consumption. I then asked about utensils in which such things are made. He (the Imam) said, ‘The Messenger of Allah prohibited the use of pumpkins as pots (used in fermentation of raw material for liquor), al-Danan, casks (a large container coated with asphalt), containers of pottery and palm tree trunks (curved as a container used in fermentation of raw material for intoxicating substances) in the time of ignorance before Islam.’”

لَا يَحْرُمُ الْعَصِيرُ حَتَّى يَغْلِيَ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn abu Nasr from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Juice (grape juice) is not unlawful until it boils.’”

لَا بَأْسَ بِشُرْبِ الْعَصِيرِ سِتَّةَ أَيَّامٍ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ مَعْنَاهُ مَا لَمْ يَغْلِ.
2. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Muhammad ibn ‘Asem who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not unlawful to drink juice (grape juice) up to six days.’ Ibn abu ‘Umayr has said, ‘It means that it does not become intoxicating liquor and unlawful before it comes to a boil.’”

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ شُرْبِ الْعَصِيرِ فَقَالَ اشْرَبْهُ مَا لَمْ يَغْلِ فَإِذَا غَلَى فَلَا تَشْرَبْهُ قَالَ قُلْتُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ الْغَلَيَانُ قَالَ الْقَلْبُ.
3. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from abu Yahya al-Wasitiy from Hammad ibn ‘Uthaman who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about drinking juice (grape juice). He (the Imam) said, ‘You can drink it before it is boiled. Once it is boiled then do not drink.’ I then asked saying, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, what is boiling?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is fluctuation (fermentation) and change.’”

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ إِذَا نَشَّ الْعَصِيرُ أَوْ غَلَى حَرُمَ.
4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from al-Hassan ibn al-Jahm from Dharih who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘When juice (grape juice) begins to simmer or boil it becomes unlawful to use it for drink.’”

كُلُّ عَصِيرٍ أَصَابَتْهُ النَّارُ فَهُوَ حَرَامٌ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُ.
1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn Mahbub from ‘ Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Any juice (grape juice) which fire has touched is unlawful to use until two-thirds of it is evaporated and only one-third has remained.’”

سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْعَصِيرِ يُطْبَخُ بِالنَّارِ حَتَّى يَغْلِيَ مِنْ سَاعَتِهِ فَيَشْرَبُهُ صَاحِبُهُ قَالَ إِذَا تَغَيَّرَ عَنْ حَالِهِ وَ غَلَى فَلَا خَيْرَ فِيهِ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ ثُلُثَاهُ وَ يَبْقَى ثُلُثُهُ.
2. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn abu Najran from Muhammad ibn al-Haytham from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about grape juice which is cooked on fire until it boils for one hour; then the owner drinks it. He (the Imam) said, ‘If it changes and boils, it then becomes devoid of goodness until two-thirds of it is evaporated and only one-third has remained.’”
