قَدِمَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع فَقَالَ قَدِمْتَ حَاجّاً فَقَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ أَ تَدْرِي مَا لِلْحَاجِّ قَالَ لَا قَالَ مَنْ قَدِمَ حَاجّاً وَ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ حَسَنَةٍ وَ مَحَا عَنْهُ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ سَيِّئَةٍ وَ رَفَعَ لَهُ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ دَرَجَةٍ وَ شَفَّعَهُ فِي سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ حَاجَةٍ وَ كَتَبَ لَهُ عِتْقَ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ رَقَبَةٍ

“Once a man came to see Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), and he (the Imam) asked him, ’Have you come to perform al-Hajj?’ He replied, ‘Yes, I intend to do so. كَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ‌ مَنْ طَافَ بِهَذَا الْبَيْتِ أُسْبُوعاً وَ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي أَيِّ جَوَانِبِ الْمَسْجِدِ شَاءَ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ سِتَّةَ آلَافِ حَسَنَةٍ وَ مَحَا عَنْهُ سِتَّةَ آلَافِ سَيِّئَةٍ وَ رَفَعَ لَهُ سِتَّةَ آلَافِ دَرَجَةٍ وَ قَضَى لَهُ سِتَّةَ آلَافِ حَاجَةٍ فَمَا عَجَّلَ مِنْهَا فَبِرَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ وَ مَا أَخَّرَ مِنْهَا فَشَوْقاً إِلَى دُعَائِهِ.

دَخَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَ أَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ عَنْ مَسَائِلَ كَثِيرَةٍ فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتُهُ عَظُمَ عَلَيَّ كَلَامُهُ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ نَاوِلْنِي يَدَكَ أَوْ رِجْلَكَ أُقَبِّلُهَا فَنَاوَلَنِي يَدَهُ فَقَبَّلْتُهَا فَذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَدَمَعَتْ عَيْنَايَ فَلَمَّا رَآنِي مُطَأْطِئاً رَأْسِي قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَا مِنْ طَائِفٍ يَطُوفُ بِهَذَا الْبَيْتِ حِينَ تَزُولُ الشَّمْسُ حَاسِراً عَنْ ر
