Resting or Riding During Sa‘y

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَطُوفُ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ أَ يَسْتَرِيحُ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِنْ شَاءَ جَلَسَ عَلَى الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ وَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَيَجْلِسُ‌[3].

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about a man who performs Sa‘y between al-Safa’ and al-Marwah: if he can rest. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, he can do so on al-Safa’ or al-Marwah or in between.’”

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ع عَنِ النِّسَاءِ يَطُفْنَ عَلَى الْإِبِلِ وَ الدَّوَابِّ أَ يُجْزِئُهُنَّ أَنْ يَقِفْنَ تَحْتَ الصَّفَا وَ الْمَرْوَةِ قَالَ نَعَمْ بِحَيْثُ يَرَيْنَ الْبَيْتَ.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of women who perform Sa‘y between al-Safa’ and al-Marwah on camels and stumpers; if they can stop below al-Safa’ and al-Marwah. He (the Imam) said, ‘Yes, they can do so in a way that they can see the House.’”
