لَا يَسْتَقِيمُ النَّاسُ عَلَى الْفَرَائِضِ وَ الطَّلَاقِ إِلَّا بِالسَّيْفِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘People do not behave properly in matters of obligations and divorce without the sword (enforcing authority).’”

لَا تَقُومُ الْفَرَائِضُ وَ الطَّلَاقُ إِلَّا بِالسَّيْفِ.
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Obligations and divorce are not dealt with properly without the sword.’”

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ النِّسَاءِ هَلْ يَرِثْنَ الرِّبَاعَ[1] فَقَالَ لَا وَ لَكِنْ يَرِثْنَ قِيمَةَ الْبِنَاءِ قَالَ قُلْتُ فَإِنَّ النَّاسَ لَا يَرْضَوْنَ بِذَا قَالَ فَقَالَ إِذَا وُلِّينَا فَلَمْ يَرْضَ النَّاسُ بِذَلِكَ ضَرَبْنَاهُمْ بِالسَّوْطِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَسْتَقِيمُوا ضَرَبْنَاهُمْ بِالسَّيْفِ.
“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), about women; if they inherit from the house.
