قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الرَّفِيقَ ثُمَّ السَّفَرَ[1].
Hadith.2436 - Al-Sakuni narrated with his chain of transmission that the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings of Allah (swt) be upon him and his family) said: "First the companion, then the journey."
مَا اصْطَحَبَ اثْنَانِ إِلَّا كَانَ أَعْظَمُهُمَا أَجْراً وَ أَحَبُّهُمَا إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَرْفَقَهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ[2]
وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَا تَصْحَبَنَّ فِي سَفَرٍ مَنْ لَا يَرَى لَكَ مِنَ الْفَضْلِ عَلَيْهِ كَمَا تَرَى لَهُ عَلَيْكَ[3].
Hadith.2438 - Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) said: "Do not accompany in travel anyone who does not regard you with the same esteem that you regard them."
مِنَ السُّنَّةِ إِذَا خَرَجَ الْقَوْمُ فِي سَفَرٍ أَنْ يُخْرِجُوا نَفَقَتَهُمْ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَطْيَبُ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ أَحْسَنُ لِأَخْلَاقِهِمْ[4]
كَانَ يَقُولُ اصْحَبْ مَنْ تَتَزَيَّنُ بِهِ[5] وَ لَا تَصْحَبْ مَنْ يَتَزَيَّنُ بِكَ.
"Accompany those who add to your virtue, and do not accompany those who seek to gain virtue from you."
لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَدْ عَرَفْتَ حَالِي وَ سَعَةَ يَدِي وَ تَوْسِيعِي عَلَى إِخْوَانِي فَأَصْحَبُ النَّفَرَ مِنْهُمْ فِي طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ فَأُوَسِّعُ عَلَيْهِمْ قَالَ لَا تَفْعَلْ يَا شِهَابُ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ بَسَطْتَ وَ بَسَطُوا أَجْحَفْتَ بِهِمْ[1] وَ إِنْ هُمْ أَمْسَكُوا أَذْلَلْتَهُمْ فَاصْحَبْ نُظَرَاءَكَ اصْحَبْ نُظَرَاءَكَ[2].
Hadith.2441 - Shihab ibn Abd Rabbih narrated: I said to Abu Abdullah (as): "You know my situation, my financial capacity, and how I spend generously on my brothers. Sometimes I accompany a group of them on the road to Mecca and provide generously for them." Imam (as) said: "Do not do that, O Shihab. If you are generous
إِذَا صَحِبْتَ فَاصْحَبْ نَحْوَكَ وَ لَا تَصْحَبْ مَنْ يَكْفِيكَ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ مَذَلَّةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ[3]
وَ رَوَى أَبُو خَدِيجَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ الْبَائِتُ فِي الْبَيْتِ وَحْدَهُ شَيْطَانٌ وَ الِاثْنَانِ لُمَةٌ وَ الثَّلَاثَةُ أُنْسٌ[4].
"The one who spends the night alone in the house is a devil; two are a gathering of whisperers; and three bring companionship."
أَحَبُّ الصَّحَابَةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَ مَا زَادَ قَوْمٌ عَلَى سَبْعَةٍ إِلَّا كَثُرَ لَغَطُهُمْ[5]
حَقُّ الْمُسَافِرِ أَنْ يُقِيمَ عَلَيْهِ إِخْوَانُهُ إِذَا مَرِضَ ثَلَاثاً[6]
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَا مِنْ نَفَقَةٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ نَفَقَةِ قَصْدٍ وَ يُبْغِضُ الْإِسْرَافَ إِلَّا فِي حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ[7].
The Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings of Allah (swt) be upon him and his family) said: "There is no spending more beloved to Allah (swt) than moderate spending. He dislikes extravagance, except in Hajj or Umrah."
