عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْيَمَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ:

إِذَا اتَّهَمَ الْمُؤْمِنُ أَخَاهُ انْمَاثَ الْإِيمَانُ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ‌ كَمَا يَنْمَاثُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibrahim ibn ‘Umar al-Yamani from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “‘When a believer accuses his brother (in faith), belief melts away in his heart just as salt melts away in water.’”

كَتَبَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِلَى الشِّيعَةِ لَيَعْطِفَنَّ ذَوُو السِّنِّ مِنْكُمْ وَ النُّهَى عَلَى ذَوِي الْجَهْلِ وَ طُلَّابِ الرِّئَاسَةِ أَوْ لَتُصِيبَنَّكُمْ لَعْنَتِي أَجْمَعِينَ‌.

From him, from Ali Bin Asbaat, from Al-A’la Bin Razeyn, from Muhammad Bin Muslim who said: Abu Abdullah wrote to the Shiites: ‘Let those who are elderly from among you be sympathetic, and prohibit the ignorant ones and the seekers of leadership, or else you will all be affected by my (asws) curse’.

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَنِ اتَّهَمَ أَخَاهُ فِي دِينِهِ- فَلَا حُرْمَةَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَ مَنْ عَامَلَ أَخَاهُ بِمِثْلِ مَا عَامَلَ‌ بِهِ النَّاسَ فَهُوَ بَرِي‌ءٌ مِمَّا يَنْتَحِلُ‌.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain individuals of his people from al-Husayn ibn Hazim from Husayn ibn ‘Umar ibn Yazid from his father who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whenever one accuses his brother (in belief) in his religious matters, religious relations will cease to exist between them. Whoever deals with his brother (in belief) just as he deals with other people, his religious relations (religious brotherhood) toward him all comes apart.’”

قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي كَلَامٍ لَهُ‌ ضَعْ أَمْرَ أَخِيكَ عَلَى أَحْسَنِهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ مَا يَغْلِبُكَ مِنْهُ‌ وَ لَا تَظُنَّنَّ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَرَجَتْ مِنْ أَخِيكَ سُوءاً وَ أَنْتَ تَجِدُ لَهَا فِي الْخَيْرِ مَحْمِلًا.

3. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from his father from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from al-Husayn ibn al-Mukhtar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said in one of his speeches, ‘Deal with the issues related to your brother (in belief) with best interpretations until you receive overwhelming evidence to support the facts. Do not act on (evil) guesswork about a word that has come from your brother (in belief) as long as you can manage to find a place for it in goodness.’”

[1]« ضع أمر أخيك» أي احمل ما صدر عن أخيك من قول أو فعل على أحسن محتملاته و إن كان مرجوحا من غير تجسس حتّى يأتيك منه أمر لا يمكنك تأويله، فان الظنّ قد يخطئ و التجسس منهى عنه و في بعض النسخ‌[ يقلبك‌] بالقاف.ص 362
