خُذْ حَصَى الْجِمَارِ مِنْ جَمْعٍ وَ إِنْ أَخَذْتَهُ مِنْ رَحْلِكَ بِمِنًى أَجْزَأَكَ[1].
“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said, ‘You must pick up the pebbles for al-Jamar from Jam‘ and if you pick them up from your lodging in Mina’ it also is sufficient.’”
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الْحَصَى الَّتِي يُرْمَى بِهَا الْجِمَارُ فَقَالَ تُؤْخَذُ مِنْ جَمْعٍ وَ تُؤْخَذُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ مِنًى[2].
‘It is taken from Jam‘ and thereafter from Mina’.’”

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn al-Hakam from Ali ibn abu Hamzah from abu Basir who has said the following: “I once heard abu ‘Abd Allah, ‘Alayhi al-Salam, say, ‘Pick up the pebbles and do not break anything thereof.’”

كُرِهَ الصُّمُّ مِنْهَا وَ قَالَ خُذِ الْبُرْشَ[5].
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Pebbles of solid structure are disliked.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Take such pebbles that are not solid and are of several colors.’”
حَصَى الْجِمَارِ تَكُونُ مِثْلَ الْأَنْمُلَةِ وَ لَا تَأْخُذْهَا سَوْدَاءَ وَ لَا بَيْضَاءَ وَ لَا حَمْرَاءَ خُذْهَا كُحْلِيَّةً مُنَقَّطَةً تَخْذِفُهُنَّ خَذْفاً وَ تَضَعُهَا عَلَى الْإِبْهَامِ وَ تَدْفَعُهَا بِظُفُرِ السَّبَّابَةِ وَ ارْمِهَا مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي وَ اجْعَلْهُنَّ عَنْ يَمِينِكَ كُلَّهُنَّ وَ لَا تَرْمِ عَلَى الْجَمْرَةِ وَ تَقِفُ عِنْدَ الْجَمْرَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ وَ لَا تَقِفْ عِنْدَ جَمْرَةِ ا
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Pebbles for al-Jamar must be of the size of fingertips. You must not take the black ones, white ones, or red ones. Take those, which are like knickknack and dotted. You should hurl them by placing them on the thump and hurl them with the nail of your index finger. Throw them from the s
يَجُوزُ أَخْذُ حَصَى الْجِمَارِ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الْحَرَمِ إِلَّا مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ وَ مَسْجِدِ الْخَيْفِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is permissible to take the pebbles for al-Jamar from all parts of al-Haram (the sacred area) except Masjid al-Haram and Masjid of al-Khif.’”
سَأَلْتُهُ مِنْ أَيْنَ يَنْبَغِي أَخْذُ حَصَى الْجِمَارِ قَالَ لَا تَأْخُذْهُ مِنْ مَوْضِعَيْنِ مِنْ خَارِجِ الْحَرَمِ وَ مِنْ حَصَى الْجِمَارِ وَ لَا بَأْسَ بِأَخْذِهِ مِنْ سَائِرِ الْحَرَمِ[3].
“I once asked abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘From where the pebbles must be taken?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘You must not take them from two places, from non-al-Haram (the sacred area) and from the pebble of al-Jamar. It is not harmful to take them from other parts of al-Haram (the sacred area).”’
خُذْ حَصَى الْجِمَارِ ثُمَّ ائْتِ الْجَمْرَةَ الْقُصْوَى الَّتِي عِنْدَ الْعَقَبَةِ فَارْمِهَا مِنْ قِبَلِ وَجْهِهَا وَ لَا تَرْمِهَا مِنْ أَعْلَاهَا وَ تَقُولُ وَ الْحَصَى فِي يَدِكَ- اللَّهُمَّ هَؤُلَاءِ حَصَيَاتِي فَأَحْصِهِنَّ لِي وَ ارْفَعْهُنَّ فِي عَمَلِي ثُمَّ تَرْمِي وَ تَقُولُ مَعَ كُلِّ حَصَاةٍ- اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُمَّ ادْحَرْ عَنِّي[1] الشَّيْطَانَ اللَّهُمَّ تَصْدِيقاً بِكِتَابِكَ وَ عَلَى سُنَّةِ
