قَالَ لَمَّا سَيَّرَ عُثْمَانُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِلَى الرَّبَذَةِ[7] شَيَّعَهُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ عَقِيلٌ وَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ ع وَ عَمَّارُ بْنُ يَاسِرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْوَدَاعِ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ‌ ع يَا أَبَا ذَرٍّ إِنَّكَ إِنَّمَا غَضِبْتَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- فَارْجُ مَنْ غَضِبْتَ لَهُ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ خَافُوكَ عَلَى دُنْيَاهُمْ وَ خِفْتَهُمْ عَلَى دِينِكَ فَأَرْ

When Uthman exiled Abu Dharr to Al-Rabadha, Amir-ul-Mu'minin (a.s.), and Aqil (as), and al-Hasan (asws), and Al-Husayn (asws), and Ammar Bin Yasser bid farewell to him. So when they were inside the valley, Amir-ul-Mu'minin (asws) said; ‘O Abu Dharr! You were angry for the Sake of Allah, so have hope from His Anger. The

لَا تَرَوْنَ مَا تُحِبُّونَ حَتَّى يَخْتَلِفَ بَنُو فُلَانٍ‌[4] فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمْ فَإِذَا اخْتَلَفُوا طَمِعَ النَّاسُ وَ تَفَرَّقَتِ الْكَلِمَةُ وَ خَرَجَ السُّفْيَانِيُّ. حَدِيثُ الصَّيْحَةِ

‘You will not be seeing what you would love to (appearance of Al-Qaim (asws)) until the Clan of so and so (Clan of Abbas) differing in what is between them. So when they differ, the people would become greedy and the words would be separated, and Al-Sufyani would come out’.

‘I was in the presence of Abu Al-dawaniq, so I heard him saying, initiating it himself, ‘O saif Bin Umair! It is necessary for a caller to call in the name of a man from the sons of Abu Talib (as)’. كُنْتُ جَالِساً عِنْدَ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ ع فَقَالَ آيَتَانِ تَكُونَانِ قَبْلَ قِيَامِ الْقَائِمِ ع لَمْ تَكُونَا مُنْذُ هَبَطَ آدَمُ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ تَنْكَسِفُ الشَّمْسُ فِي النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ وَ الْقَمَرُ فِي آخِرِهِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ تَنْكَسِفُ الشَّمْسُ فِي آخِرِ الشَّهْرِ وَ الْقَمَرُ فِي النِّصْفِ فَقَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مَا تَقُولُ‌[3] وَ لَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ ل

‘Two Signs would occur before the rising of Al-Qaim (asws) which have never occurred since the descent of Adam (as) to the earth – A solar eclipse in the middle of the Month of Ramadhan, and the lunar (eclipse) at the end of it’. I heard Abu Abdullah (asws) saying: ‘I (asws) and my (asws) father (asws) went out until we (asws) arrived in between the Grave and the Pulpit (of the Rasool Allah (saww)). Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘Indeed! And for everything is an essence and the essence of the children of Adam (as) is Muhammad (saww), and us (asws), and our (asws) Shites after us (asws). How lovely are our (asws) Shites! What will be closer to the Throne of Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic than them on the Day of Judge

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ أَشْكُو إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَحْدَتِي وَ تَقَلْقُلِي‌[2] بَيْنَ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى تَقْدَمُوا وَ أَرَاكُمْ وَ آنَسَ بِكُمْ فَلَيْتَ هَذِهِ الطَّاغِيَةَ أَذِنَ لِي فَأَتَّخِذَ قَصْراً فِي الطَّائِفِ فَسَكَنْتُهُ وَ أَسْكَنْتُكُمْ مَعِيَ وَ أَضْمَنَ لَهُ أَنْ لَا يَجِي‌ءَ مِنْ نَاحِيَتِنَا مَكْرُوهٌ أَبَداً.

‘I complain to Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic of my loneliness, and restlessness among the people of Al-Medina, until you (Shi'ites) come over and I see you, and be comforted by you. If only this tyrant would allow me, so I would take a fort in Al-Ta'if, so I would dwell in it and you would all dwell in it with me. I

لَمَّا حَفَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْخَنْدَقَ مَرُّوا بِكُدْيَةٍ[4] فَتَنَاوَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْمِعْوَلَ مِنْ يَدِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع أَوْ مِنْ يَدِ سَلْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ‌[5] فَضَرَبَ بِهَا ضَرْبَةً فَتَفَرَّقَتْ بِثَلَاثِ فِرَقٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَقَدْ فُتِحَ عَلَيَّ فِي ضَرْبَتِي هَذِهِ كُنُوزُ كِسْرَى وَ قَيْصَرَ فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ يَعِدُنَا بِكُنُوزِ كِسْرَى وَ قَيْصَرَ وَ

When the Rasool Allah (saww) dug the trench (Al-Khandaq), he (saww) came across a rock. So the Rasool Allah (saww) took a pickaxe from the hand of Amir-ul-Momineen (asws), or from the hand of Salman (ra). He (saww) struck by it at the rock and it split into three pieces. The Rasool Allah (saww) said: ‘With this strike

إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى رِيحاً يُقَالُ لَهَا الْأَزْيَبُ‌[1] لَوْ أَرْسَلَ مِنْهَا مِقْدَارَ مَنْخِرِ ثَوْرٍ[2] لَأَثَارَتْ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَ الْأَرْضِ وَ هِيَ الْجَنُوبُ.

Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘Allah (azwj) Blessed and High has a Wind which is called ‘Al-Azeyb). If He (azwj) Sends from it the measurement (which comes out of) the nostril of a bull, it would raise what is in between the sky and the earth, and this is (known as) the South (Wind)’.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى لِابْنِ آدَمَ‌ إِنْ نَازَعَكَ بَصَرُكَ إِلَى بَعْضِ مَا حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْكَ فَقَدْ أَعَنْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ بِطَبَقَيْنِ فَأَطْبِقْ وَ لَا تَنْظُرْ وَ إِنْ نَازَعَكَ لِسَانُكَ إِلَى بَعْضِ مَا حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْكَ فَقَدْ أَعَنْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ بِطَبَقَيْنِ فَأَطْبِقْ وَ لَا تَكَلَّمْ وَ إِنْ نَازَعَكَ فَرْجُكَ إِلَى بَعْضِ مَا حَرَّمْتُ عَلَيْكَ فَقَدْ أَعَنْتُكَ عَل

‘Allah (azwj) Blessed and High Said to the Children of Adam (as): “If your eye dispute for some of what I (azwj) have Prohibited to you, so I (azwj) have Aided you with two layers (eyelids), so close them and do not look. And if your tongue disputes for some of what I (azwj) have Prohibited to you, so I (azwj) have Aid

ثَلَاثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ فَلَا يُرْجَ خَيْرُهُ مَنْ لَمْ يَسْتَحِ مِنَ الْعَيْبِ وَ يَخْشَ اللَّهَ بِالْغَيْبِ‌[3] وَ يَرْعَوِ عِنْدَ الشَّيْبِ.

Abu Abdullah (asws) has said: ‘Three things, which if they are in someone, so there is no hope of goodness from him – The one who is never ashamed of the faults, and (never) fears Allah (azwj) for the Hidden, and (never becomes) pious during old age’.

قُلْتُ لِجَمِيلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا أَتَاكُمْ شَرِيفُ قَوْمٍ فَأَكْرِمُوهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ لَهُ‌ وَ مَا الشَّرِيفُ قَالَ قَدْ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ الشَّرِيفُ مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ‌[1] قَالَ قُلْتُ فَمَا الْحَسِيبُ قَالَ الَّذِي يَفْعَلُ الْأَفْعَالَ الْحَسَنَةَ بِمَالِهِ وَ غَيْرِ مَالِهِ قُلْتُ فَمَا الْكَرَمُ قَالَ التَّقْوَى.

The Rasool Allah (saww) said: ‘If a respectable person of a people comes, so be kind to him’. He said, ‘Yes’. I said to him, ‘And what is the respectable one?’ He said, ‘I had asked Abu Abdullah (asws) about that, so he (asws) said that the honourable one is the one who is wealthy’. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ مَا أَشَدَّ حُزْنَ النِّسَاءِ وَ أَبْعَدَ فِرَاقَ الْمَوْتِ‌[2] وَ أَشَدُّ مِنْ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ فَقْرٌ يَتَمَلَّقُ صَاحِبُهُ ثُمَّ لَا يُعْطَى شَيْئاً. حَدِيثُ يَأْجُوجَ وَ مَأْجُوجَ‌

Abu Abdullah (asws) has said that the Rasool Allah (saww) said: ‘There is nothing more intense than the grief of a woman, nor anything more remote than the separation of the death, and more intense than all of that is poverty. One flatters his companion, who then does not give him anything’.

A person handed over to me six or seven hundred Dirhams for Abu Abdullah (asws). So it was in my bag, When I arrived at Al-Hafeera, my bag had split and whatever was in it had gone. I got the officer in Al-Medina to concur with it. He said, ‘Are you the one whose bag split and your belongings were gone?’ I said, ‘Yes’.

“May Allah have mercy on a servant who endears us to the people and does not make them detest us. By Allah, if they were to narrate the beauty of our words, they would become honored through it, and no one would be able to criticize them for anything. But one of them hears a single word and distorts it into ten.”

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع- عَنْ قَوْلِ الرَّجُلِ لِلرَّجُلِ جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْراً مَا يَعْنِي بِهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ خَيْراً نَهَرٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ[4] مَخْرَجُهُ مِنَ الْكَوْثَرِ وَ الْكَوْثَرَ مَخْرَجُهُ مِنْ سَاقِ الْعَرْشِ عَلَيْهِ مَنَازِلُ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ وَ شِيعَتِهِمْ عَلَى حَافَتَيْ ذَلِكَ النَّهَرِ جَوَارِي نَابِتَاتٌ كُلَّمَا قُلِعَتْ وَاحِدَةٌ نَبَتَتْ أُخْرَى سُمِّيَ‌[5] بِذَلِكَ

I asked Abu Abdullah (asws) about the words which a person would say to another person, ‘جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْراً’ ‘May Allah (azwj) Reward you with goodness (Khair)’, what is meant by it?’ So Abu Abdullah (asws) said: ‘Khair’ is a river in the Paradise, a tributary from Al-Kawsar. And Al-Kawsar comes out from the Pilla

إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ نَهَراً حَافَتَاهُ حُورٌ نَابِتَاتٌ فَإِذَا مَرَّ الْمُؤْمِنُ بِإِحْدَيهُنَّ فَأَعْجَبَتْهُ اقْتَلَعَهَا فَأَنْبَتَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَكَانَهَا. حَدِيثُ الْقِبَابِ‌

Abu Abdullah (asws) having said: ‘In the Paradise is a river on banks of which are Houries are thriving. So if the Believer passes by one of them, and she pleases him, he uproots her (takes her away). So Allah (azwj) Mighty and Majestic Implants another one in her place’.

قَالَ لِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع لَيْلَةً وَ أَنَا عِنْدَهُ وَ نَظَرَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ قَالَ يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ هَذِهِ قُبَّةُ أَبِينَا آدَمَ ع وَ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ سِوَاهَا تِسْعاً وَ ثَلَاثِينَ قُبَّةً فِيهَا خَلْقٌ مَا عَصَوُا اللَّهَ طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ.

‘O Abu Hamza! This is a dome of our father Adam (as), and Allah (azwj) has thirty-nine others (similar ones) for those creatures who have not disobeyed Allah (azwj) even for the blink of an eye’.
