Chapter on What a Person Should Say When Performing Hajj or Tawaf on Behalf of Another

نَعَمْ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ إِحْرَامِهِ بَعْدَ مَا يُحْرِمُ اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصَابَنِي فِي سَفَرِي هَذَا مِنْ نَصَبٍ أَوْ شِدَّةٍ أَوْ بَلَاءٍ أَوْ شَعَثٍ‌[3] فَأْجُرْ فُلَاناً فِيهِ وَ أْجُرْنِي فِي قَضَائِي عَنْهُ‌[4].

I asked him about a man performing Hajj on behalf of his brother, his father, or another person. Should he say anything specific? قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ إِخْوَانِكَ فَائْتِ الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ وَ قُلْ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ مِنْ فُلَانٍ‌[1].

Hadith.2968 - In a narration from Mu'awiyah ibn Ammar, Abu Abdullah (as) said: "If you wish to perform Tawaf around the Ka'bah on behalf of one of your brothers, go to the Black Stone and say: 'In the name of Allah (swt), O Allah (swt), accept this from [the name of the person].'"

إِنْ شَاءَ فَعَلَ وَ إِنْ شَاءَ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ قَدْ حَجَّ عَنْهُ وَ لَكِنْ يَذْكُرُهُ عِنْدَ الْأُضْحِيَّةِ إِذَا هُوَ ذَبَحَهَا[4].
