لَيْسَ عَلَى الْبُقُولِ وَ لَا عَلَى الْبِطِّيخِ وَ أَشْبَاهِهِ زَكَاةٌ إِلَّا مَا اجْتَمَعَ عِنْدَكَ مِنْ غَلَّتِهِ فَبَقِيَ عِنْدَكَ سَنَةً.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama‘ah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Zakat is not due on legumes, melons and similar things except that if anything of grain accumulated with you remains for one year.”’
