قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع لِعَبَّادِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ الْبَصْرِيِّ الصُّوفِيِّ وَيْحَكَ يَا عَبَّادُ غَرَّكَ أَنْ عَفَّ بَطْنُكَ وَ فَرْجُكَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَقُولُ فِي كِتَابِهِ‌ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ‌ وَ قُولُوا قَوْلًا سَدِيداً يُصْلِحْ لَكُمْ أَعْمالَكُمْ‌[4] اعْلَمْ أَنَّهُ لَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللَّهُ مِنْكَ شَيْئاً حَتَّى تَقُولَ قَوْلًا عَدْلًا.
