سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْباً فَنَدِمَ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرَ وَ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَةً فَعَرَفَ أَنَّهَا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَحْمَدَهُ.
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘If a servant commits a sin and then regrets, Allah forgives him before he asks forgiveness. If a servant receives a favor from Allah and he learns that it is from Allah, He grants him forgiveness (protection) before he offers his thanks.’”
