سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع عَنِ الذَّبِيحَةِ بِاللِّيطَةِ وَ بِالْمَرْوَةِ[1] فَقَالَ لَا ذَكَاةَ إِلَّا بِحَدِيدَةٍ.
“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), if an animal can be slaughtered with a piece of sharp wood or stone. He (the Imam) said, ‘Without iron it is not a proper slaughtering.”’
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الذَّبِيحَةِ بِالْعُودِ وَ الْحَجَرِ وَ الْقَصَبَةِ قَالَ فَقَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ع لَا يَصْلُحُ الذَّبْحُ إِلَّا بِالْحَدِيدَةِ.
‘Without iron slaughtering is not proper.’”
لَا يُؤْكَلُ مَا لَمْ يُذْبَحْ بِحَدِيدَةٍ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Animals that are not slaughtered with iron cannot be used for food.’”
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ الذَّكَاةِ فَقَالَ لَا يُذَكَّى إِلَّا بِحَدِيدَةٍ نَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع.
‘Slaughtering cannot properly be done without iron and ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), prohibited slaughtering without it.’”
