The Case of a Man who Wants to Slaughter an Animal and the Knife by Mistake Cuts off the Head

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ ذَبَحَ شَاةً وَ سَمَّى فَسَبَقَهُ السِّكِّينُ بِحِدَّتِهَا[4] فَأَبَانَ الرَّأْسَ فَقَالَ إِنْ خَرَجَ الدَّمُ فَكُلْ.

“I once asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about the case of a Muslim man who slaughters a sheep and mentions the name of Allah but because of sharpness of the knife he cuts off the head. He (the Imam) said, ‘If blood has come out you can use it for food.’”
