1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father and Muhammad ibn Yahya from Ahmad ibn Muhammad all from ibn Mahbub from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, ‘. . . It is the coloring of Allah. Who has a better color than Allah’s color?’ (2:138), Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) said, ‘It (color) stands for al-Islam.’ In the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, ‘. . . He has established a firm hold onto the strong grip’. . . (2:256), he said, ‘It (the strong grip) is the faith and belief in Allah, Who is One and has no partners.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Hisham ibn al-Hakam who has said the following: “I once asked abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), about two drain-shoots; one is rain water and the other urine which mix with each other and drops thereof sprinkle over one’s clothes. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful (when it still is raining).”’

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Hariz from Sadir al-Sayrafiy who has said the following: “I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I know someone is asking for help, but I do not know if he is a Muslim or not.’ The Imam said, ‘You can give charity to one whom you do not know is a friend or enemy of the truth. Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Glorious, has said, “Say good words to people.” (2:83) Do not give charity to those who are hostile to the truth or call people to something of falsehood.’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from af-Nawfafiy from af-Sakuniy who has said the following: “This is concerning my question before abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘What is the meaning of the words of the Holy Prophet, . . commitment of a person of the lowest position among them becomes a commitment of all of them (Muslims)?’” He (the Imam) replied, ‘It means, if the Muslim army surrounds a stronghold of the pagans and a man comes up saying, “Grant me immunity so I can debate your man.” If a man of the lowest position in the Muslim army grants him immunity, it becomes obligatory for all of them to fulfill that commitment.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Khalid from his father from Muhammad ibn Sinan from al-Husayn from Murazim from his brother who has said the following: “A man once said to abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘A boy is born to me. He (the Imam) said, ‘May Allah enable you to thank the Benefactor, bless you with the gift and make him to grow up to manhood! May Allah grant you the chance to enjoy his virtuous deeds!’”

Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from ibn abu Najran from ‘Asem ibn Humayd from Muhammad ibn Qays who has narrated the following: “Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin once issued a judgment, about the case of a man who made a will and the beneficiary who was absent, died before the testator, that the benefit belongs to the heir of the beneficiary.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘If one makes a will, regardless of his absence or presence, if the beneficiary dies before the testator, the benefit belongs to the heir of the beneficiary unless the testator changes his will before his death.’”

Ali Bin Muhammad, from someone he has mentioned, from Muhammad Bin Al-Husayn, and Humeyd Bin Zyad, from Al-Hassan Bin Muhammad Al-Kindy altogether, from Ahmad Bin Al-Hassan Al-Maysami, from a man from his companions who said: ‘I read the answer from Abu Abdullah (asws) to a man from his (asws) companions. After this (having Praised Allah (azwj),), I (asws) hereby advise you all to fear Allah (azwj), for He (azwj) has Taken the responsibility for the one who is pious to turn them around from what He (azwj) Abhors towards what He (azwj) Loves, and Sustain him from where he does not expect. So beware of becoming from those who are feared by the servants due to their sins whereas they themselves feel secure from the consequences of their own sins. Allah (azwj) cannot be deceived about His (azwj) Paradise, nor can that be achieved which is with Him (azwj) except by being obedient to Him (azwj), Allah (azwj) Willing’.

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from his father from ‘Abd Allah ibn al-Fadl al-Nawfaliy from his father who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), was asked about giving charity to an unidentified person. He replied, ‘You can give charity to one for whom you feel sympathy in your heart.’ He said, ‘Give him less than a dirham.’ I asked, ‘What is the maximum I can give?’ He replied, ‘It is four Dawaniq (a certain measurement of things).”’

2. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Ibrahim ibn Ishaq al-Ahmar from ‘Abd Allah ibn Hammad from Abu Maryam al-Ansari from Abu Barza al-Aslami who has said the following: “A child was born to al-Hasan ibn Ali (a.s.), and Quraysh came to congratulate him and saying, ‘Congratulations to you for the birth of the rider (the knight).’ He (the Imam) said, ‘What kind of expression is this! Say, 'May Allah enable you to thank the Benefactor for the blessed gift, may Allah make him to grow up to manhood and may Allah give you the chance to enjoy his good deeds!'"

Hamid ibn Ziyad has narrated from Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn Sama’a from more than one person from Aban from Muhammad ibn Muslim from one of them (a.s.) who has said the following: “About the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, ‘. . . It is the coloring of Allah. Who has a better color than Allah’s color?’ (2:138), the Imam said, ‘Color stands for al-lslam, the religion.’ He, about the words of Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, also said, ‘Whoever then rejects the Taghut (falsehood) and establishes belief in Allah he, thus, has established his grasp securely with the strongest grip...,’ The Imam said, "It (strongest grip) means belief.’”

Ahmad ibn Muhammad from has narrated from Ali ibn al-Hakam from al-Kahiliy from a man who has said the following: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I sometimes, pass by and water from a drain-shoot falls on me. At such time, I know, people take Wudu’. He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful. You do not need to ask (inquire).’ I (the narrator) then asked, ‘What happens if rain water falls on me and I see its color is changed; there are signs of dirt with it and several drops sprinkle and fall on me, while on the roof of the house people take Wudu’. Should we keep our clothes on us in such condition?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful. You do not need to wash your clothes. Everything and substance which has become unclean turns clean when rain falls on it.’”

A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Bakr ibn Salih from those whom he has mentioned who has said the following: “Once a man congratulated another man on the birth of his son by saying, ‘Congratulation for the birth of the rider (the knight).’ Al-Hasan (a.s.) then said, ‘How would you know if he will be a rider or walking on foot?’ He asked, ‘I pray to Allah to keep my soul in service for your cause, what I should say?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Say, “May Allah enable you to thank the Benefactor. May the gift be a blessing for you and may Allah make him to grow up to manhood! May Allah give you the chance to enjoy his good deeds.'"

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ayyub ibn Nuh from al-‘Abbas ibn ’Amir who has narrated the following: “I once asked him (the Imam) (a.s.), about the case of man in whose favor a will is made but he dies before taking possession and has not left any heirs. He (the Imam) said, ‘You must search for his heirs or master then give it to him.’ I then asked, ‘What happens if I cannot find any guardian for him?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘Try to find out his guardian and if you cannot find, and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, knows your effort, then give it in charity on his behalf.’”

He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful up to three days unless it is found out to have become Najis (unclean) by something after rainfall. If such drops sprinkle after three days, then you must wash, but if the road is clean, then you do not need to wash.’”

Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Yahya from Talhah ibn Zayd who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that he has read in the book of Ali (a.s.), that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, wrote the following in a letter for al-Muhajirun, al- Ansar and those who join them from the people of Yathrib: ‘Every mobilization that is arranged for an armed confrontation must be continued step by step with legitimacy and justice among the Muslims. It is not permissible to start a war without the permission of the people (who will maintain it). The rights of neighbors are just like one’s soul that must be held harmless and sinless. The respect and honor of a neighbor is like the honor and respect of a mother and father. A believing person does not make peace just for himself, ignoring the other believer during a war for the cause of Allah, except on the basis of justice and equality.’”

[1]تأنيثها باعتبار انها صفة للجماعة أو الطائفة اي كل جماعة غازية. و قوله:« غزت بما يعقب» لعل قوله:« بما» زيد من النسّاخ و في التهذيب« غزت معنا» فقوله:« يعقب» خبر و على ما في النسخ لعل قوله:« بالمعروف» بدل أو بيان لقوله:« بما يعقب» و قوله« فانه» خبر، أي كل طائفة غازية بما يعزم أن يعقب و يتبع بعضها بعضا فيه و هو المعروف و القسط بين المسلمين فانه لا يجوز له حرب إلّا باذن أهلها أي أهل الغازية أو فليعلم هذا الحكم.( آت)ص 31

Muhammad ibn ’Isma‘il has narrated from al-Fadl ibn Shadhan from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Rib‘i ibn ‘Abd Allah from al-Fudayl ibn Yasar who has said the following: “It is about a man who takes Ghusl (bath) due to sexual matters and water drops sprinkle into the water container. Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘It is not harmful. Allah has not sanctioned anything in religion which causes hardships for you.”’

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَغْتَسِلُ فِي مُغْتَسَلٍ يُبَالُ فِيهِ وَ يُغْتَسَلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ فَيَقَعُ فِي الْإِنَاءِ مَاءٌ يَنْزُو مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ.

Al-Husayn ibn Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad, from af-Washsha’, from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman, from ‘Umar ibn Yazid who has said the foiiowing: “I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I may take Ghusl (bath) in a place which is used for taking Ghusl (bath) due to sexual matters, and urination and water-drops sprinkle from the ground into the water container.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is not harmful.’”
