قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع‌ مَنْ مَرِضَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ فَكَتَمَهُ وَ لَمْ يُخْبِرْ بِهِ أَحَداً أَبْدَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ لَحْماً خَيْراً مِنْ لَحْمِهِ وَ دَماً خَيْراً مِنْ دَمِهِ وَ بَشَرَةً خَيْراً مِنْ بَشَرَتِهِ‌[1] وَ شَعْراً خَيْراً مِنْ شَعْرِهِ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ جُعِلْتُ فِدَاكَ وَ كَيْفَ يُبْدِلُهُ قَالَ يُبْدِلُهُ لَحْماً وَ دَماً وَ شَعْراً وَ بَشَرَةً لَمْ يُذْنِبْ فِيهَا.

‘The Messenger of Allah once visited a man from Ansar (people of Madinah) and he was of a good status before the Messenger of Allah. He visited him in his dying condition and looked at the angel of death near his head. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Be kind to my companion; he is a believing person.’ The angel of death

أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ غَسَّلَ مُؤْمِناً فَقَالَ إِذَا قَلَّبَهُ- اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا بَدَنُ عَبْدِكَ الْمُؤْمِنِ قَدْ أَخْرَجْتَ رُوحَهُ مِنْهُ وَ فَرَّقْتَ بَيْنَهُمَا فَعَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ‌[1] غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ ذُنُوبَ سَنَةٍ إِلَّا الْكَبَائِرَ.

Tf any believer, when washing the dead body of a believer says, “O Allah, this is the body of Your believing servant from which its spirit has come out and is just separated, please grant him forgiveness, and please grant him forgiveness.’” Allah then forgives his one year’s sins except the major ones.”

“I once said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), that people speak against us and do not accept our words, ‘there is no Salah (prayer) for a deceased child’; he has not performed any Salah (prayer). They say, ‘You say that there is no Salah (prayer) for those who have not performed any Salah (prayer).’ We say, ‘Yes that is true.

مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يُصَابُ بِمُصِيبَةٍ فَيَسْتَرْجِعُ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِهِ الْمُصِيبَةَ وَ يَصْبِرُ حِينَ تَفْجَأُهُ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَ كُلَّمَا ذَكَرَ مُصِيبَتَهُ فَاسْتَرْجَعَ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِ الْمُصِيبَةِ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ كُلَّ ذَنْبٍ اكْتَسَبَ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمَا[3].

“I said to abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), ‘I have heard you say, “All of our Shi‘ah will be in paradise just as they are.’” He said, ‘I have told you the truth. He (the Imam) said, ‘O abu Muhammad, speak (think) of your joints coming apart in your grave, and of your relatives abandoning you after your burial, worms coming out from your nose and other worms consuming your flesh; thi

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ‌ نَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص عَنِ الصُّبْحِ وَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَنَامَهُ حَتَّى طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَيْهِ وَ كَانَ ذَلِكَ رَحْمَةً مِنْ رَبِّكَ لِلنَّاسِ أَ لَا تَرَى لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا نَامَ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ لَعَيَّرَهُ النَّاسُ وَ قَالُوا لَا تَتَوَرَّعُ لِصَلَوَاتِكَ فَصَارَتْ أُسْوَةً وَ سُنَّةً فَإِنْ قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِرَجُلٍ نِمْتَ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ قَدْ نَ

“I once heard abu ’Abd Allah (a.s.), say, ‘The Messenger of Allah remained sleeping during the time of the morning Salah (prayer) and Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, made him to remain sleeping until sunrise and this was a blessing from Him for the people. Consider, when one remains sleeping until sunrise, people
