سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص يَقُولُ‌ إِذَا مَاتَ الْمَيِّتُ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَا تَكْتُمُوا مَوْتَهُ أَهْلَهُ فَإِنَّهَا أَمَانَةٌ لِعِدَّةِ امْرَأَتِهِ تَعْتَدُّ وَ مِيرَاثُهُ يُقْسَمُ‌ بَيْنَ أَهْلِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ الْمَيِّتُ مِنْهُمْ فَيَذْهَبَ نَصِيبُهُ‌[1].

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) say: 'When a person dies during a journey, do not conceal his death from his family, for it is a trust concerning the waiting period (ʿiddah) of his wife so that she may observe it, and his inheritance can be distributed among his fa

إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى آخَى بَيْنَ الْأَرْوَاحِ فِي الْأَظِلَّةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ الْأَجْسَادَ بِأَلْفَيْ عَامٍ[2] فَلَوْ قَدْ قَامَ قَائِمُنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَرَّثَ الْأَخَ الَّذِي آخَى بَيْنَهُمَا فِي الْأَظِلَّةِ وَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثِ الْأَخَ فِي الْوِلَادَةِ

Hadith.5793 - The Prophet (sw) said; "Begin (good behaviors and conduct) with those whom you support (family)."

الْمُسْلِمُ مِرْآةٌ لِأَخِيهِ.

Hadith.5795 - The Prophet (sw) said; "A Muslim is a mirror to his brother."

لَا يَحِلُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ الْمُؤْمِنَ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ.

Hadith.5809 - The Prophet (sw) said; "It is not permissible for a believer to abandon his believing brother for more than three days."

لَا صَدَقَةَ وَ ذُو رَحِمٍ مُحْتَاجٌ.

Hadith.5828 - The Prophet (sw) said; "There is no charity while a close relative is in need." (needy relatives have a bigger right over the money that was to be given in charity elsewhere)

وَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي وَصِيَّتِهِ لِابْنِهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ‌ يَا بُنَيَّ إِيَّاكَ وَ الِاتِّكَالَ عَلَى الْأَمَانِيِّ فَإِنَّهَا بَضَائِعُ النَّوْكَى‌[3] وَ تَثْبِيطٌ عَنِ‌ الْآخِرَةِ وَ مِنْ خَيْرِ حَظِّ الْمَرْءِ قَرِينٌ صَالِحٌ جَالِسْ أَهْلَ الْخَيْرِ تَكُنْ مِنْهُمْ بَايِنْ أَهْلَ الشَّرِّ وَ مَنْ يَصُدُّكَ عَنْ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ وَ ذِكْرِ الْمَوْتِ

Hadith.5834 - The Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said in his will to his son Muhammad ibn Al-Hanafiyyah, may Allah (swt) be pleased with him: "O' my son, beware of relying on vain hopes, for they are the merchandise of the foolish and a hindrance from the Hereafter. إِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَسَعُوا النَّاسَ بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ فَسَعُوهُمْ بِأَخْلَاقِكُمْ[5]

أَعْبَدُ النَّاسِ مَنْ أَقَامَ الْفَرَائِضَ‌[8] وَ أَسْخَى النَّاسِ مَنْ أَدَّى‌ زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ وَ أَزْهَدُ النَّاسِ مَنِ اجْتَنَبَ الْحَرَامَ وَ أَتْقَى النَّاسِ مَنْ قَالَ الْحَقَّ فِيمَا لَهُ وَ عَلَيْهِ وَ أَعْدَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ رَضِيَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا يَرْضَى لِنَفْسِهِ وَ كَرِهَ لَهُمْ مَا يَكْرَهُ لِنَفْسِهِ وَ أَكْيَسُ النَّاسِ مَنْ كَانَ أَشَدَّ ذِكْراً لِلْمَوْتِ وَ أَغْبَطُ النَّاسِ مَنْ كَانَ تَحْتَ التُّرَ

Hadith.5840 - Yunus ibn Zabyan narrated from Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), that he said: "Being well-known for worship is a source of suspicion. طُوبَى لِمَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ وَ حَسُنَ عَمَلُهُ فَحَسُنَ مُنْقَلَبُهُ إِذْ رَضِيَ عَنْهُ رَبُّهُ وَ وَيْلٌ لِمَنْ طَالَ عُمُرُهُ وَ سَاءَ عَمَلُهُ فَسَاءَ مُنْقَلَبُهُ إِذْ سَخِطَ عَلَيْهِ رَبُّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَ[1]

لَوْ لَا أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى أَخْبَرَكَ مَا أَخْبَرْتُكَ مَا شَرِبْتُ خَمْراً قَطُّ لِأَنِّي عَلِمْتُ أَنِّي إِنْ شَرِبْتُهَا زَالَ عَقْلِي وَ مَا كَذَبْتُ قَطُّ لِأَنَّ الْكَذِبَ يَنْقُصُ الْمُرُوءَةَ وَ مَا زَنَيْتُ قَطُّ لِأَنِّي خِفْتُ أَنِّي إِذَا عَمِلْتُ عُمِلَ بِي وَ مَا عَبَدْتُ صَنَماً قَطُّ لِأَنِّي عَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ لَا يَضُرُّ وَ لَا يَنْفَعُ قَالَ فَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ ص يَدَهُ عَلَى عَاتِق

"Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, revealed to His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him and his family: 'I have thanked Jafar ibn Abi Talib (as) for four qualities.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, called him and informed him. Jafar (as) said: 'If Allah (swt), Blessed and Exalted,

وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌[2] قَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ جَلَالُهُ عِبَادِي كُلُّكُمْ ضَالٌّ إِلَّا مَنْ هَدَيْتُهُ‌[3] وَ كُلُّكُمْ فَقِيرٌ إِلَّا مَنْ أَغْنَيْتُهُ‌[4] وَ كُلُّكُمْ مُذْنِبٌ إِلَّا مَنْ عَصَمْتُهُ.

Hadith.5848 - Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "Allah (swt), the Glorious and Exalted, said: 'O' My servants, all of you are misguided except those whom I have guided. All of you are in need except those whom I have enriched. And all of you are sinners except those whom I

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِ سَبْعَةُ حُقُوقٍ وَاجِبَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ عَلَيْهِ‌[2] الْإِجْلَالُ لَهُ فِي عَيْنِهِ وَ الْوُدُّ لَهُ فِي صَدْرِهِ وَ الْمُوَاسَاةُ لَهُ فِي مَالِهِ وَ أَنْ يُحَرِّمَ غِيبَتَهُ‌[3] وَ أَنْ يَعُودَهُ فِي مَرَضِهِ وَ أَنْ يُشَيِّعَ جَنَازَتَهُ وَ أَنْ لَا يَقُولَ فِيهِ بَعْدَ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا خَيْراً.

وَ رَوَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ع قَالَ‌ كُنْ لِمَا لَا تَرْجُو أَرْجَى مِنْكَ لِمَا تَرْجُو فَإِنَّ مُوسَى بْنَ عِمْرَانَ ع خَرَجَ يَقْتَبِسُ لِأَهْلِهِ نَاراً فَكَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَرَجَعَ نَبِيّاً وَ خَرَجَتْ مَلِكَةُ سَبَإٍ فَأَسْلَمَتْ مَعَ سُلَيْمَانَ ع وَ خَرَجَ سَحَرَةُ فِرْع

"Be more hopeful for what you do not expect than for what you expect. For indeed, Musa ibn Imran (as), peace be upon him, went out to bring fire for his family and returned as a prophet after Allah (swt), the Mighty and Majestic, spoke to him. The Queen of Sheba went out and embraced Islam with Prophet Sulayman, peace

وَ رَوَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص أَنَّهُ قَالَ‌ أَشْرَافُ أُمَّتِي حَمَلَةُ الْقُرْآنِ وَ أَصْحَابُ اللَّيْلِ‌[3].

Hadith.5855 - Abdullah ibn Abbas narrated from the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, that the Prophet (sw) said: "The nobles of my nation are the bearers of the Qur'an and those who engage in prayer during the night."

وَ نَزَلَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع‌[4] عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا جَبْرَئِيلُ عِظْنِي فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا مُحَمَّدُ عِشْ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مَيِّتٌ وَ أَحْبِبْ مَنْ شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مُفَارِقُهُ وَ اعْمَلْ مَا شِئْتَ فَإِنَّكَ مُلَاقِيهِ شَرَفُ الْمُؤْمِنِ صَلَاتُهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ عِزُّهُ كَفُّ الْأَذَى عَنِ النَّاسِ.

Hadith.5858 - Ali ibn Mahziyar narrated from Al-Husayn ibn Said, from Al-Harith ibn Muhammad ibn Al-Numan Al-Ahwal, known as Sahib Al-Taq, from Jamil ibn Salih, from Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as), from his forefathers, peace be upon them, who said that the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessi

حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ قَالَ قَالَ لِي أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ع‌ إِنَّ عِيَالَ الرَّجُلِ أُسَرَاؤُهُ فَمَنْ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَةً فَلْيُوَسِّعْ عَلَى أُسَرَائِهِ فَإِنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ أَوْشَكَ أَنْ تَزُولَ تِلْكَ النِّعْمَةُ.

Hadith.5867 - Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Malik Al-Fazari Al-Kufi narrated from Ja'far ibn Muhammad ibn Sahl, from Said ibn Muhammad, from Masadah, who said that Abu Al-Hasan Imam Musa ibn Jafar Al-Kadhim (as), peace be upon them, said: "Indeed, a man's family are his captives. So whoever Allah (swt) blesses with a bounty

وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌[5] قَالَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ جَلَالُهُ أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ أَطَاعَنِي- لَمْ أَكِلْهُ إِلَى غَيْرِي وَ أَيُّمَا عَبْدٍ عَصَانِي وَكَلْتُهُ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ أُبَالِ فِي أَيِّ وَادٍ هَلَكَ.

Hadith.5869 - Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, said: "Allah (swt), the Glorified and Exalted, said: 'Whoever of My (swt) servants obeys Me (swt), I will not entrust him to anyone other than Myself (swt). And whoever disobeys Me (swt), I will leave him to himself, and I will not

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص‌ كَلِمَتَانِ غَرِيبَتَانِ فَاحْتَمِلُوهُمَا كَلِمَةُ حِكْمَةٍ مِنْ سَفِيهٍ فَاقْبَلُوهَا وَ كَلِمَةُ سَفَهٍ مِنْ حَكِيمٍ فَاغْفِرُوهَا[2].

قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ : "ثَلاَثٌ أَخَافُهُنَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي مِنْ بَعْدِي اَلضَّلاَلَةُ بَعْدَ اَلْهُدَى وَ مَضَلاَّتُ اَلْفِتَنِ وَ شَهْوَةُ اَلْبَطْنِ وَ اَلْفَرْجِ".

Hadith.5881 - In the narration of Ismail ibn Muslim, the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace be upon him and his family) said: "Three things I fear for my nation after me: deviation after guidance, misleading temptations, and the desires of the stomach and the private parts."

وَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اَللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ بِقَوْمٍ يَتَشَاءَلُونَ حَجَراً فَقَالَ "مَا هَذَا وَ مَا يَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَيْهِ" قَالُوا لِنَعْرِفَ أَشَدَّنَا وَ أَقْوَانَا قَالَ "أَ فَلاَ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَى أَشَدِّكُمْ وَ أَقْوَاكُمْ" قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ قَالَ "أَشَدُّكُمْ وَ أَقْوَاكُمُ اَلَّذِي إِذَا رَضِيَ لَمْ يُدْخِلْهُ رِضَاهُ فِي إِثْمٍ وَ لاَ بَاطِلٍ وَ إِذَا سَخِطَ لَمْ يُخْرِجْهُ س

They replied: "So we may know who among us is the strongest and most powerful." Prophet (sw) said: "Shall I not guide you to the strongest and

قَالَ زَيْنُ الْعَابِدِينَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع‌ أَلَا إِنَّ أَحَبَّكُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَحْسَنُكُمْ عَمَلًا وَ إِنَّ أَعْظَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ حَظّاً أَعْظَمُكُمْ فِيمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ رَغْبَةً وَ إِنَّ أَنْجَى النَّاسِ مِنْ عَذَابِ اللَّهِ أَشَدُّهُمْ لِلَّهِ خَشْيَةً وَ إِنَّ أَقْرَبَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَوْسَعُكُمْ خُلُقاً وَ إِنَّ أَرْضَاكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَسْبَغُكُمْ عَلَى عِيَالِهِ وَ إِن

وَ قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ص‌[3] بَادِرُوا إِلَى رِيَاضِ الْجَنَّةِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا رِيَاضُ الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ حَلَقُ الذِّكْرِ[4].

Hadith.5888 - The Prophet of Allah (swt), peace be upon him and his family, said: "Hasten towards the gardens of Paradise." They asked: "O' Messenger of Allah (swt), what are the gardens of Paradise?" Prophet (sw) replied: "The gatherings of remembrance (of Allah (swt))."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لِعَلِيٍّ ع‌ يَا عَلِيُّ لَا تُشَاوِرَنَّ جَبَاناً فَإِنَّهُ يُضَيِّقُ عَلَيْكَ الْمَخْرَجَ وَ لَا تُشَاوِرَنَّ بَخِيلًا فَإِنَّهُ يَقْصُرُ بِكَ عَنْ غَايَتِك وَ لَا تُشَاوِرَنَّ حَرِيصاً فَإِنَّهُ يُزَيِّنُ لَكَ شَرَهاً وَ اعْلَمْ أَنَّ الْجُبْنَ وَ الْبُخْلَ وَ الْحِرْصَ غَرِيزَةٌ يَجْمَعُهَا سُوءُ الظَّنِّ.

Hadith.5889 - Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace be upon him and his family, said to him: "O' Ali (as), do not consult a coward, for he will restrict you from finding a solution. Do not consult a miser, for he will hinder you from reaching your goal. And do not consult a greed

سَمِعْتُ الصَّادِقَ جَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ ع يَقُولُ‌ مَنْ أَخْرَجَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ ذُلِّ الْمَعَاصِي إِلَى عِزِّ التَّقْوَى أَغْنَاهُ اللَّهُ بِلَا مَالٍ وَ أَعَزَّهُ بِلَا عَشِيرَةٍ وَ آنَسَهُ بِلَا أَنِيسٍ وَ مَنْ خَافَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَخَافَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يَخَفِ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَخَافَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ وَ مَنْ رَضِيَ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ

Hadith.5890 - Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Whoever Allah (swt), the Almighty and Majestic, brings out from the humiliation of sins to the honor of piety, Allah (swt) enriches him without wealth, honors him without a tribe, and comforts him without a companion. عَلِّمْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً فَقَالَ ع عَلَيْكَ بِالْيَأْسِ مِمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ فَإِنَّهُ الْغِنَى الْحَاضِرُ قَالَ زِدْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِيَّاكَ وَ الطَّمَعَ فَإِنَّهُ الْفَقْرُ الْحَاضِرُ قَالَ زِدْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِذَا هَمَمْتَ بِأَمْرٍ فَتَدَبَّرْ عَاقِبَتَهُ فَإِنْ يَكُ خَيْراً أَوْ رُشْداً اتَّبَعْتَهُ وَ إِنْ يَكُ شَرّاً أَوْ غَيّاً تَرَكْتَهُ.

'A man came to the Messenger of Allah (swt), peace and blessings be upon him and his family, and said: "Teach me something, O' Messenger of Allah (swt)." Prophet (sw) said: "You must renounce what is in the hands of people, for it is immediate wealth." The man said: "Increase me (in knowledge), O' Messenger of Allah (s

وَ سُئِلَ الصَّادِقُ ع‌ مَا حَدُّ حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ قَالَ تُلِينُ جَانِبَكَ وَ تُطِيبُ كَلَامَكَ وَ تَلْقَى أَخَاكَ بِبِشْرٍ حَسَنٍ.

Hadith.5897 - Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked: "What is the definition of good character?" Imam (as) replied: "It is to be gentle in your behaviour, speak kindly, and meet your brother with a cheerful face."

الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ أُهْدِيَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص بَغْلَةٌ أَهْدَاهَا لَهُ كِسْرَى أَوْ قَيْصَرُ فَرَكِبَهَا النَّبِيُّ ص بِجُلٍّ مِنْ شَعْرٍ وَ أَرْدَفَنِي خَلْفَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي يَا غُلَامُ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ‌[3] وَ احْفَظِ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ أَمَامَكَ- تَعَرَّفْ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي الرَّخَاءِ- يَعْرِفْكَ فِي الشِّدَّةِ[1] إِذَا سَأَلْتَ فَاسْأَلِ اللَّهَ وَ إِذَا اسْتَعَنْتَ فَاسْتَع

Al-Fadl ibn Al-Abbas said: A mule was gifted to the Messenger of Allah (swt) (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) by Kisra (the Persian emperor) or Qayṣar (the Roman emperor). وَ رَوَى حَمَّادُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنِ الصَّادِقِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ع قَالَ‌ فِي حِكْمَةِ آلِ دَاوُدَ يَنْبَغِي لِلْعَاقِلِ أَنْ يَكُونَ مُقْبِلًا عَلَى شَأْنِهِ‌[2] حَافِظاً لِلِسَانِهِ عَارِفاً بِأَهْلِ زَمَانِهِ.

"In the wisdom of the family of Dawud (as), it is fitting for a wise person to be focused on his own affairs, to safeguard his tongue, and to be aware of the people of his time."

مَنْ لَمْ يُبَالِ مَا قَالَ وَ مَا قِيلَ فِيهِ فَهُوَ شِرْكُ شَيْطَانٍ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يُبَالِ أَنْ يَرَاهُ النَّاسُ مُسِيئاً فَهُوَ شِرْكُ شَيْطَانٍ وَ مَنِ اغْتَابَ أَخَاهُ الْمُؤْمِنَ مِنْ غَيْرِ تِرَةٍ بَيْنَهُمَا[3] فَهُوَ شِرْكُ شَيْطَانٍ وَ مَنْ شُغِفَ بِمَحَبَّةِ الْحَرَامِ وَ شَهْوَةِ الزِّنَا فَهُوَ شِرْكُ شَيْطَانٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ ع لِوَلَدِ الزِّنَا عَلَامَاتٌ أَحَدُهَا بُغْضُنَا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَ ثَانِيهَا أَ

سِبَابُ الْمُؤْمِنِ فُسُوقٌ وَ قِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ وَ أَكْلُ لَحْمِهِ مِنْ مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى وَ حُرْمَةُ مَالِهِ كَحُرْمَةِ دَمِهِ[1]

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى الرِّضَا ع قَالَ‌ لِلْإِمَامِ عَلَامَاتٌ يَكُونُ أَعْلَمَ النَّاسِ وَ أَحْكَمَ النَّاسِ وَ أَتْقَى النَّاسِ وَ أَحْلَمَ النَّاسِ وَ أَشْجَعَ النَّاسِ وَ أَسْخَى النَّاسِ وَ أَعْبَدَ النَّاسِ وَ يُولَدُ مَخْتُوناً وَ يَكُونُ مُطَهَّراً وَ يَرَى مِنْ خَلْفِهِ كَمَا يَرَى مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَ لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ ظِلٌ‌[2

"The Imam has (various divinely appointed) signs: He, (The Imam (as)) will be the most knowledgeable of people, the most wise of people, the most God-fearing of people, the most patient of people, the most courageous of people, the most generous of people, and the most devoted in worship among people.
