إِذَا لَبِسْتَ نَعْلَكَ أَوْ خُفَّكَ فَابْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ وَ إِذَا خَلَعْتَ فَابْدَأْ بِالْيَسَارِ.
When wearing on begin with the right foot and when taking off your al-Khuff (half-boot) or shoe begin with the left foot.’”
إِذَا لَبِسْتَ نَعْلَكَ أَوْ خُفَّكَ فَابْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ وَ إِذَا خَلَعْتَ فَابْدَأْ بِالْيَسَارِ.

كَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا لَبِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ نَعْلَهُ فَلْيَلْبَسِ الْيَمِينَ قَبْلَ الْيَسَارِ وَ إِذَا خَلَعَهَا فَلْيَخْلَعِ الْيُسْرَى قَبْلَ الْيُمْنَى.
‘When one of you wears his shoes he must wear on the right foot first then the left foot, when taking off you should remove from the left before the right.’”
لَا تَمْشِ فِي حِذَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ قُلْتُ وَ لِمَ قَالَ لِأَنَّهُ إِنْ أَصَابَكَ مَسٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لَمْ يَكَدْ يُفَارِقُكَ إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ.
‘Do not walk with one pair of shoe.’ I asked, ‘Why I must not walk with one shoe?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It is because if a touch of Satan reaches you, it will never go away, unless Allah wants otherwise.’”
مَنْ مَشَى فِي حِذَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ فَأَصَابَهُ مَسٌّ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ لَمْ يَدَعْهُ إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ.
“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘If one walks with one shoe and if a touch of Satan reaches, him it will not leave him unless Allah wants otherwise.’”
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَمْشِي فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَ يُصْلِحُ الْأُخْرَى لَا يَرَى بِذَلِكَ بَأْساً.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), walked with one shoe while repairing the other one, and he did not consider it harmful.’”
كَانَ خَاتَمُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص مِنْ وَرِقٍ.
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the ring of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was made of leaf (dirham).’”
كَانَ خَاتَمُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص مِنْ وَرِقٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لَهُ كَانَ فِيهِ فَصٌّ قَالَ لَا.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the ring (insignia) of the Messenger of Allah, was made of leaf (dirham).’ I then asked if it had any stone, and he (the Imam) said, ‘No, it did not have a stone.’”
مِنَ السُّنَّةِ لُبْسُ الْخَاتَمِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Wearing the ring (insignia) is of the noble tradition.’”
الْفَصُّ مُدَوَّرٌ وَ قَالَ هَكَذَا كَانَ خَاتَمُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص.
‘The stone of a ring is round and that is how the ring of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, was.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَا تَخَتَّمْ بِالذَّهَبِ فَإِنَّهُ زِينَتُكَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said to ’Amir al- Mu’minin, ‘Your ring must not be made of gold because it is your beautification in the next life.’”
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَا تَخَتَّمُوا بِغَيْرِ الْفِضَّةِ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ مَا طَهُرَتْ كَفٌّ فِيهَا خَاتَمُ حَدِيدٍ.
‘Do not use any ring other than what is made of silver, because the Messenger of Allah has said, “A hand which has a ring of iron does not become clean.’””
لَا تَجْعَلْ فِي يَدِكَ خَاتَماً مِنْ ذَهَبٍ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Do not wear on your hand a ring of gold.’”
إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ يَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي أَيْمَانِهِمْ فَقَالَ كَانَ أَبِي يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَسَارِهِ وَ كَانَ أَفْضَلَهُمْ وَ أَفْقَهَهُمْ[1].
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about wearing the ring on the right hand saying, ‘I have seen banu Hashim wearing rings on their right hands.’ He (the Imam) said, ‘My father would wear it on his left hand and he was the most excellent among them with more power of wisdom.’”
سَأَلْتُ أَخِي مُوسَى ع عَنِ الْخَاتَمِ يُلْبَسُ فِي الْيَمِينِ فَقَالَ إِنْ شِئْتَ فِي الْيَمِينِ وَ إِنْ شِئْتَ فِي الْيَسَارِ.
“I once asked my brother, Musa (a.s.), about the ring; if it is worn on the right hand. He (the Imam) said, ‘You can wear it on the right or left, as you wish.’”
مَا تَخَتَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِلَّا يَسِيراً حَتَّى تَرَكَهُ[2].
“Abu ‘ Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah used the ring for a very little time and then he (the Messenger of Allah) abandoned it.’”
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص كَانَ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, would wear the ring on his right hand.’”
كَانَ عَلِيٌّ وَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ ص يَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي أَيْسَارِهِمْ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that Ali, al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, would wear the ring on their left hands.’”
كَانَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ ع يَتَخَتَّمَانِ فِي يَسَارِهِمَا.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, wore the ring on their left hands.’”
كَانَ الْحَسَنُ وَ الْحُسَيْنُ ع يَتَخَتَّمَانِ فِي يَسَارِهِمَا.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, wore the ring on their left hands.’”
أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع كَانَ يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that al-Hassan and al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, wore the ring on their right hands (fingers).”’
كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع يَتَخَتَّمُ فِي يَمِينِهِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin would wear the ring on his right hand.’”
قَوَّمُوا خَاتَمَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَأَخَذَهُ أَبِي مِنْهُمْ بِسَبْعَةٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ بِسَبْعَةِ دَرَاهِمَ قَالَ بِسَبْعَةِ دَنَانِيرَ.
“Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘They evaluated the ring of abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), and my father bought it for seven.’ I then asked, ‘Was it seven dirham?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘It was seven dinars.’”
الْعَقِيقُ يَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ وَ لُبْسُ الْعَقِيقِ يَنْفِي النِّفَاقَ.
“Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said, ‘Carnelian disallows poverty and wearing carnelian dispels hypocrisy.’”
مَنْ سَاهَمَ بِالْعَقِيقِ كَانَ سَهْمُهُ الْأَوْفَرَ.
“Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’, has said, ‘One who achieves a share of carnelian his share is a plentiful share.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْعَقِيقِ فَإِنَّهُ مُبَارَكٌ وَ مَنْ تَخَتَّمَ بِالْعَقِيقِ يُوشِكُ أَنْ يُقْضَى لَهُ بِالْحُسْنَى.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, has said, ‘Wear a ring of carnelian; it is blessed and one who uses a ring of carnelian has a good chance to end up in goodness.’”
رَأَيْتُ فِي يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع فَصَّ عَقِيقٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا الْفَصُّ فَقَالَ عَقِيقٌ رُومِيٌّ وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ تَخَتَّمَ بِالْعَقِيقِ قُضِيَتْ حَوَائِجُهُ.
“If one uses carnelian as his ring his wishes come true.’””
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع الْعَقِيقُ أَمَانٌ فِي السَّفَرِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Agate is safety on a journey.’”
كَانَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ مَنِ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَماً فَصُّهُ عَقِيقٌ لَمْ يَفْتَقِرْ وَ لَمْ يُقْضَ لَهُ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ.
“Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said that abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), would say, ‘One who uses ‘Aqiq (carnelian) as the stone of his ring does not become poor and he ends up only in goodness.’”
بَعَثَ الْوَالِي إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ آلِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فِي جِنَايَةٍ فَمَرَّ بِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَقَالَ أَتْبِعُوهُ بِخَاتَمِ عَقِيقٍ فَأُتِيَ بِخَاتَمِ عَقِيقٍ فَلَمْ يَرَ مَكْرُوهاً.
“Once, the governor summoned a man of Ale abu Talib in a criminal case, and he passed by abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), who said, ‘Follow him with a ring of ‘Aqiq (carnelian)’. ‘Aqiq (carnelian) ring was brought and he did not experience any undesirable matters.’”
شَكَا رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص أَنَّهُ قُطِعَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّرِيقُ فَقَالَ ص هَلَّا تَخَتَّمْتَ بِالْعَقِيقِ فَإِنَّهُ يَحْرُسُ مِنْ كُلِّ سُوءٍ.
“He (the Imam) (a.s.), has said that once a man complained before the Messenger of Allah, O Allah grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to your cause, that on the road he was robbed. The Messenger of Allah said, ‘Why did you not wear the ring of ‘Aqiq (carnelian) which is protects from
كَانَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْيَوَاقِيتِ فَإِنَّهَا تَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ.
“Al-Rida’ (a.s.), has said that abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), would say, ‘You must use ruby as a ring, it disallows poverty.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْيَوَاقِيتِ فَإِنَّهَا تَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ.
“The Messenger of Allah (saww) has said, ‘You must use rubies as rings; they disallow poverty.’”
قَالَ لِي يَوْماً وَ أَمْلَى عَلَيَّ مِنْ كِتَابٍ التَّخَتُّمُ بِالزُّمُرُّدِ يُسْرٌ لَا عُسْرَ فِيهِ.
“He (the Imam), Alayhi al-Salam, one day said to me dictating in a book, ‘Using emerald in a ring is a comfort which is free of difficulties.’”
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْيَوَاقِيتِ فَإِنَّهَا تَنْفِي الْفَقْرَ.
‘You must use ruby in the ring; it disallows poverty.’”
يُسْتَحَبُّ التَّخَتُّمُ بِالْيَاقُوتِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah, Alayhi al-Salam, has said, ‘It is Mustahab (desirable) to use ruby as a ring.’”
مَنْ تَخَتَّمَ بِالْفَيْرُوزَجِ لَمْ يَفْتَقِرْ كَفُّهُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ’If one uses a ring of turquoise his palm does not become poor.’”
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي الْحَسَنِ مُوسَى ع وَ فِي إِصْبَعِهِ خَاتَمٌ فَصُّهُ فَيْرُوزَجٌ نَقْشُهُ اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ[1] فَأَدَمْتُ النَّظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَا لَكَ تُدِيمُ النَّظَرَ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّهُ كَانَ لِعَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع خَاتَمٌ فَصُّهُ فَيْرُوزَجٌ نَقْشُهُ اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ فَقَالَ أَ تَعْرِفُهُ قُلْتُ لَا فَقَالَ هَذَا هُوَ تَدْرِي مَا سَبَبُهُ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ هَذَا حَجَرٌ أَه
“I once visited abu al-Hassan, Musa (a.s.), and on his finger was a ring with a stone which was turquoise with an engraving that said, ’Allah is the owner’. I continued looking on it and he (the Imam) asked, ’Why do you continue looking at it?’ I replied, ‘I have received information that Ali, ’Amir al-Mu’minin had a r
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع تَخَتَّمُوا بِالْجَزْعِ الْيَمَانِيِّ فَإِنَّهُ يَرُدُّ كَيْدَ مَرَدَةِ الشَّيَاطِينِ.
“’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), has said, ‘Use Yemenite carnelian as the ring; it dispels plots, the evil plans of defiant Satans.’”
نِعْمَ الْفَصُّ الْبِلَّوْرُ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Al-Billur (crystal) is very good for the stone of a ring.”’
كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّ ص مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَبِي ع الْعِزَّةُ لِلَّهِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the engraving on the ring of the Holy Prophet, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, said, ‘Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’. The engraving on the ring of ’Amir al-Mu’minin (a.s.), said, ‘Allah is the owner’ and the engrav
قُلْنَا جُعِلْنَا فِدَاكَ أَ يُكْرَهُ أَنْ يَكْتُبَ الرَّجُلُ فِي خَاتَمِهِ غَيْرَ اسْمِهِ وَ اسْمِ أَبِيهِ فَقَالَ فِي خَاتَمِي مَكْتُوبٌ- اللَّهُ خالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَ فِي خَاتَمِ أَبِي مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع وَ كَانَ خَيْرَ مُحَمَّدِيٍّ رَأَيْتُهُ بِعَيْنِي الْعِزَّةُ لِلَّهِ وَ فِي خَاتَمِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع- الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ وَ فِي خَاتَمِ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ ع حَسْبِيَ ا
“Once we asked Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), saying, ‘We pray to Allah to keep our souls in service for your cause, is it undesirable to write on one’s ring something other than one’s name and the name of one’s father?’ He (the Imam) said, ‘The writing on my ring says, ‘Allah is the Creator of all things’. مَرَّ بِي مُعَتِّبٌ وَ مَعَهُ خَاتَمٌ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَيُّ شَيْءٍ هَذَا فَقَالَ خَاتَمُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع فَأَخَذْتُ لِأَقْرَأَ مَا فِيهِ فَإِذَا فِيهِ- اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ ثِقَتِي فَقِنِي شَرَّ خَلْقِكَ.
3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from ‘Abd Allah ibn Muhammad al-Nuhaykiy from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid who has said that:Mu‘attib passed by me and there was a ring with him and I asked him what it was? He replied, ‘It is the ring of abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.).’ I took it to read what w
كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع فَأَخْرَجَ إِلَيْنَا خَاتَمَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع وَ خَاتَمَ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ع وَ كَانَ عَلَى خَاتَمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع- أَنْتَ ثِقَتِي فَاعْصِمْنِي مِنَ النَّاسِ وَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ع- حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ* وَ فِيهِ وَرْدَةٌ وَ هِلَالٌ فِي أَعْلَاهُ.
“I once was with Abu al-Hassan, al-Rida’ (a.s.), and he (the Imam) showed us the ring of Abu ‘Abd Allah, and Abu al-Hassan (a.s.). On the ring of Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), it said, ‘You are my trusty so protect me from people. ’ The engraving on the ring of Abu al- Hassan (a.s.), said, ‘Allah is sufficient for me’ and the
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع عَنْ نَقْشِ خَاتَمِهِ وَ خَاتَمِ أَبِيهِ ع قَالَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِي- ما شاءَ اللَّهُ لا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ وَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ أَبِي حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ* وَ هُوَ الَّذِي كُنْتُ أَتَخَتَّمُ بِهِ.
‘The engraving on my ring says, ‘It is whatever Allah wants and there is no power except the power of Allah’ and the engraving on the ring of my father said, ‘Allah is sufficient for me’ and it is what I used for my ring.’”
كَانَ عَلَى خَاتَمِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ع- خَزِيَ وَ شَقِيَ قَاتِلُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ع.
“Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘On the ring of Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.), the writing said, ‘Disgraced and destroyed are murderers of al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.)’”
ذَكَرْنَا خَاتَمَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فَقَالَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُرِيَكَهُ فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَدَعَا بِحُقٍّ مَخْتُومٍ فَفَتَحَهُ وَ أَخْرَجَهُ فِي قُطْنَةٍ فَإِذَا حَلْقَةُ فِضَّةٍ وَ فِيهِ فَصٌّ أَسْوَدُ عَلَيْهِ مَكْتُوبٌ سَطْرَانِ- مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ فَصَّ النَّبِيِّ ص أَسْوَدُ.
“Once we mentioned the ring of the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, and he (the Imam) said, ‘Will you like if I show you?’ I replied, ‘Yes, (I will be delighted to see it).’ He (the Imam) then asked for a sealed package and took from it a
قُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّا رُوِّينَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص كَانَ يَسْتَنْجِي وَ خَاتَمُهُ فِي إِصْبَعِهِ وَ كَذَلِكَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع وَ كَانَ نَقْشُ خَاتَمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص- مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَدَقُوا قُلْتُ فَيَنْبَغِي لَنَا أَنْ نَفْعَلَ قَالَ إِنَّ أُولَئِكَ كَانُوا يَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي الْيَدِ الْيُمْنَى وَ إِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمْ تَتَخَتَّمُونَ فِي الْيُسْرَى قَالَ فَسَك
“I once said to Abu al-Hasan, al-Thani (a.s.), ‘We narrate in Hadith that the Messenger of Allah (saww) after using the rest room performed cleansing while wearing his ring on his finger and so also did ’Amir al-Mu’minin. The engraving on the ring of the Messenger of Allah said, ‘Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah’. He
قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع مَنْ نَقَشَ عَلَى خَاتَمِهِ اسْمَ اللَّهِ فَلْيُحَوِّلْهُ عَنِ الْيَدِ الَّتِي يَسْتَنْجِي بِهَا فِي الْمُتَوَضَّإِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘If one engraves the name of Allah on his ring he must change it from the hand with which one performs cleansing (washing one’s bottom).”’
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الذَّهَبِ يُحَلَّى بِهِ الصِّبْيَانُ فَقَالَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ع يُحَلِّي وُلْدَهُ وَ نِسَاءَهُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ.
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of children; if they can use gold as ornaments. He (the Imam) said that Ali ibn al-Husayn, (a.s.) allowed his children and women to use gold and silver as ornaments.’”
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الذَّهَبِ يُحَلَّى بِهِ الصِّبْيَانُ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ كَانَ أَبِي ع لَيُحَلِّي وُلْدَهُ وَ نِسَاءَهُ بِالذَّهَبِ وَ الْفِضَّةِ فَلَا بَأْسَ بِهِ.
“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), about the case of children; if they can use gold as ornaments. He (the Imam) said, ‘My father (a.s.), allowed his children and women to use gold and silver as ornaments, so it is not unlawful.’”
