He (Imam 'Ali) then walked for a while, then placed him on the ground and said another five Takbir and so on until he had said twenty five Takbir.’”

‘The case of one who denies death is very odd indeed, while he sees people die every day and night. So also is the case of one who denies the next life while he observers the present life.’”

نَظَرَ إِلَى النَّاسِ فِي يَوْمِ فِطْرٍ يَلْعَبُونَ وَ يَضْحَكُونَ فَقَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ وَ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ خَلَقَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ مِضْمَاراً لِخَلْقِهِ لِيَسْتَبِقُوا فِيهِ بِطَاعَتِهِ إِلَى رِضْوَانِهِ فَسَبَقَ فِيهِ قَوْمٌ فَفَازُوا وَ تَخَلَّفَ آخَرُونَ فَخَابُوا فَالْعَجَبُ كُلُّ الْعَجَبِ مِنَ الضَّاحِكِ اللَّاعِبِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يُثَابُ فِيهِ الْمُحْسِنُونَ وَ يَخِيبُ

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمَّا أَصَابَ آدَمُ وَ زَوْجَتُهُ الْحِنْطَةَ[2] أَخْرَجَهُمَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَ أَهْبَطَهُمَا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ فَأُهْبِطَ آدَمُ عَلَى الصَّفَا[3] وَ أُهْبِطَتْ حَوَّاءُ عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ وَ إِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ صَفًا لِأَنَّهُ شُقَّ لَهُ مِنِ اسْمِ آدَمَ الْمُصْطَفَى وَ ذَلِكَ لِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفى‌ آدَمَ وَ نُوحاً[4] وَ سُمِّيَتِ الْمَرْوَةُ مَرْوَةً لِأَنّ
