وَ رُوِيَ: «أَنَّ وَقْتَ اَلْغَدَاةِ إِذَا اِعْتَرَضَ اَلْفَجْرُ فَأَضَاءَ حَسَناً.
Hadith.1437 - It has been narrated: "The time of Fajr (morning prayer) begins when the true dawn appears and spreads light horizontally in a good way”.
وَ رُوِيَ: «أَنَّ وَقْتَ اَلْغَدَاةِ إِذَا اِعْتَرَضَ اَلْفَجْرُ فَأَضَاءَ حَسَناً.
Hadith.1437 - It has been narrated: "The time of Fajr (morning prayer) begins when the true dawn appears and spreads light horizontally in a good way”.
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ النَّوْمِ بَعْدَ الْغَدَاةِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الرِّزْقَ يُبْسَطُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ فَأَنَا أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يَنَامَ الرَّجُلُ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ.
Hadith.1439 - Al-Alaa narrated from Muhammad ibn Muslim who reported from one of the Imams (as) that he asked him about sleeping after the Fajr (morning) prayer. Imam (as) said: "Sustenance is distributed during that hour, and I dislike for a man to sleep during that time."
إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ إِنَّمَا يَبُثُّ جُنُودَ اللَّيْلِ مِنْ حِينِ تَغِيبُ الشَّمْسُ إِلَى مَغِيبِ الشَّفَقِ وَ يَبُثُّ جُنُودَ النَّهَارِ مِنْ حِينِ يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ إِلَى مَطْلَعِ الشَّمْسِ وَ ذَكَرَ أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ع كَانَ يَقُولُ أَكْثِرُوا ذِكْرَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فِي هَاتَيْنِ السَّاعَتَيْنِ وَ تَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مِنْ شَرِّ إِبْلِيسَ وَ جُنُودِهِ وَ عَوِّذُوا صِغَارَكُمْ فِي هَاتَيْنِ
"Indeed, Iblis deploys his soldiers of the night from sunset until the disappearance of twilight and deploys his soldiers of the day from the time the Fajr (morning) light appears until the sun rises." نَوْمَةُ الْغَدَاةِ مَشُومَةٌ تَطْرُدُ الرِّزْقَ وَ تُصَفِّرُ اللَّوْنَ وَ تُقَبِّحُهُ وَ تُغَيِّرُهُ وَ هُوَ نَوْمُ كُلِّ مَشْئُومٍ إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى يَقْسِمُ الْأَرْزَاقَ مَا بَيْنَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ فَإِيَّاكُمْ وَ تِلْكَ النَّوْمَةَ
النَّوْمُ أَوَّلَ النَّهَارِ خُرْقٌ وَ الْقَائِلَةُ نِعْمَةٌ[1] وَ النَّوْمُ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حُمْقٌ وَ النَّوْمُ بَيْنَ الْعِشَاءَيْنِ يَحْرِمُ الرِّزْقَ. وَ النَّوْمُ عَلَى أَرْبَعَةِ أَوْجُهٍ[2] نَوْمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ ع عَلَى أَقْفِيَتِهِمْ لِمُنَاجَاةِ الْوَحْيِ وَ نَوْمُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَ نَوْمُ الْكُفَّارِ عَلَى يَسَارِهِمْ وَ نَوْمُ الشَّيَاطِينِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ
مَنْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ نَائِماً عَلَى وَجْهِهِ فَأَنْبِهُوهُ
وَ قَالَ ع ثَلَاثَةٌ فِيهِنَّ الْمَقْتُ مِنَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ نَوْمٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ سَهَرٍ وَ ضَحِكٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ عَجَبٍ وَ أَكْلٌ عَلَى الشِّبَعِ[1].
Hadith.1444 - Imam (as) said: "Three things bring forth the dislike (anger) of Allah (swt), the Almighty and Majestic: sleeping without fatigue, laughing without wonder, and eating when already full”.
وَ أَتَى أَعْرَابِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ص فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ ذَكُوراً وَ إِنِّي صِرْتُ نَسِيّاً فَقَالَ أَ كُنْتَ تَقِيلُ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ وَ تَرَكْتَ ذَاكَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ عُدْ فَعَادَ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ ذِهْنُهُ[2].
Hadith.1445 - A Bedouin came to the Prophet (sw) and said: "O’ Messenger of Allah (sw), I used to have a strong memory but now I have become forgetful." The Prophet (sw) asked: "Did you use to take a midday nap (Qailulah)?" The man replied: "Yes." The Prophet (sw) then asked: "And did you stop doing that?" The man answ
خَمْسَةٌ لَا يَنَامُونَ الْهَامُّ بِدَمٍ يَسْفِكُهُ وَ ذُو الْمَالِ الْكَثِيرِ لَا أَمِينَ لَهُ وَ الْقَائِلُ فِي النَّاسِ الزُّورَ وَ الْبُهْتَانَ عَنْ عَرَضٍ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا يَنَالُهُ وَ الْمَأْخُوذُ بِالْمَالِ الْكَثِيرِ وَ لَا مَالَ لَهُ وَ الْمُحِبُّ حَبِيباً يَتَوَقَّعُ فِرَاقَهُ[3].
"There are five types of people who cannot sleep: one who is anxious about shedding blood, the possessor of a great amount of wealth who lacks a trustworthy guardian, one who spreads lies and false accusations among people to gain a worldly benefit, the person burdened with a large amount of wealth but has none himself
وَ رُوِيَ قِيلُوا[4] فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُطْعِمُ الصَّائِمَ فِي مَنَامِهِ وَ يَسْقِيهِ.
Hadith.1447 - It is narrated: "Take a midday nap (Qailulah), for indeed Allah (swt) nourishes and provides drink to the fasting person during their sleep."
وَ رُوِيَ قِيلُوا فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَقِيلُ.
Hadith.1448 - It is narrated, "Take a midday nap (Qailulah), for indeed the Shaytan does not take a nap."
وَ قَالَ ع نَوْمُ الْغَدَاةِ شُؤْمٌ يَحْرِمُ الرِّزْقَ وَ يُصَفِّرُ اللَّوْنَ وَ كَانَ الْمَنُّ وَ السَّلْوَى يَنْزِلُ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مَا بَيْنَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ فَمَنْ نَامَ تِلْكَ السَّاعَةَ لَمْ يَنْزِلْ نَصِيبُهُ فَكَانَ إِذَا انْتَبَهَ فَلَا يَرَى نَصِيبَهُ احْتَاجَ إِلَى السُّؤَالِ وَ الطَّلَبِ[5].
Hadith.1449 - Imam (as) said: "Sleeping in the morning (after dawn) is an omen of misfortune; it deprives one of sustenance and pales the complexion. The manna and quails used to descend upon the Children of Israel between the time of dawn until sunrise, so whoever slept during that hour would not receive their share.
فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ- فَالْمُقَسِّماتِ أَمْراً قَالَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ تُقَسِّمُ أَرْزَاقَ بَنِي آدَمَ مَا بَيْنَ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ فَمَنْ يَنَامُ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُمَا يَنَامُ عَنْ رِزْقِهِ
كَانَ وَ هُوَ بِخُرَاسَانَ إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ إِلَى أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ[1] ثُمَّ يُؤْتَى بِخَرِيطَةٍ[2] فِيهَا مَسَاوِيكُ فَيَسْتَاكُ بِهَا وَاحِداً بَعْدَ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ يُؤْتَى بِكُنْدُرٍ فَيَمْضَغُهُ ثُمَّ يَدَعُ ذَلِكَ فَيُؤْتَى بِالْمُصْحَفِ فَيَقْرَأُ فِيهِ[3].
Hadith.1451 - Muammar ibn Khallad narrated from Imam al-Ridha (as) that when he was in Khurasan, after performing the Fajr prayer, he would sit in his prayer place until the sun rose. Then, a pouch containing miswaks (tooth-cleaning sticks) would be brought to him, and he would use them one by one. Afterward, he would
مَنْ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ سَتَرَهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ النَّارِ
صَلَاةُ الْعِيدَيْنِ فَرِيضَةٌ وَ صَلَاةُ الْكُسُوفِ فَرِيضَةٌ.
Hadith.1453 - Jamil ibn Darraj narrated from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) that He said: "The prayers of the two Eids (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha) are obligatory, and the prayer of the eclipse (Salat al-Kusoof) is also obligatory."
«صَلاَةُ اَلْعِيدَيْنِ مَعَ اَلْإِمَامِ سُنَّةٌ وَ لَيْسَ قَبْلَهُمَا وَ لاَ بَعْدَهُمَا صَلاَةٌ ذَلِكَ اَلْيَوْمَ إِلَى اَلزَّوَالِ.
"The prayer of the two Eids (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha) with the Imam is a Sunnah, and there is no prayer before or after them on that day until noon (zawal)."
لَا صَلَاةَ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِلَّا مَعَ إِمَامٍ وَ إِنْ صَلَّيْتَ وَحْدَكَ فَلَا بَأْسَ.
"There is no prayer on the two Eids (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha) except with an Imam, but if you pray alone, there is no issue."
لَا صَلَاةَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَ الْأَضْحَى إِلَّا مَعَ إِمَامٍ عَادِلٍ[3].
"There is no prayer on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha except with a just Imam”.
صَلِّهِمَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ
Hadith.1457 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about the prayers of Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, and He said: "Pray them as two units (rak'ahs), either in congregation or individually, and say seven takbirs (Allahu Akbar) in the first rak'ah and five in the second”.
مَرِضَ أَبِي ع يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى فَصَلَّى فِي بَيْتِهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ ضَحَّى.
"My father (as) fell ill on the day of Eid al-Adha, so he prayed two units (rak'ahs) in his home and then offered the sacrifice."
مَنْ لَمْ يَشْهَدْ جَمَاعَةَ النَّاسِ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ وَ لْيَتَطَيَّبْ بِمَا وَجَدَ وَ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِهِ وَحْدَهُ كَمَا يُصَلِّي فِي جَمَاعَةٍ[2].
"Whoever does not attend the congregation of people for the Eid prayers should perform the ritual bath (ghusl), apply whatever perfume is available, and then pray at home alone as he would pray in congregation”.
الْخُرُوجُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَ الْأَضْحَى إِلَى الْجَبَّانَةِ حَسَنٌ لِمَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ الْخُرُوجَ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ فَقُلْتُ أَ رَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ مَرِيضاً لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ أَ يُصَلِّي فِي بَيْتِهِ فَقَالَ لَا[3].
Hadith.1460 - Harun ibn Hamzah al-Ghanawi narrates from Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq (as) said: "Going out on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to the open area (for prayer) is good for whoever is able to go." Harun asked: "What if a person is sick and unable to go out, should he pray at home?" Imam (as) replied: "No."
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ غُسْلِ الْأَضْحَى- قَالَ وَاجِبٌ إِلَّا بِمِنًى[4].
I asked Imam (as) about the Ghusl (ritual purification bath) of Eid al-Adha. Imam (as) said: "It is obligatory except for those in Mina."
وَ رُوِيَ أَنَّ غُسْلَ الْعِيدَيْنِ سُنَّةٌ.
Hadith.1462 - It has been narrated: "The Ghusl (ritual purification bath) for the two Eids is a Sunnah (recommended practice)."
سَأَلْتُهُ عَنِ اَلْمَرْأَةِ عَلَيْهَا غُسْلُ يَوْمِ اَلْجُمُعَةِ وَ اَلْفِطْرِ وَ اَلْأَضْحَى وَ يَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ، قَالَ «نَعَمْ عَلَيْهَا اَلْغُسْلُ كُلُّهُ.
Hadith.1463 - Al-Halabi narrated from Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) that He said: "I asked him about whether a woman is required to perform Ghusl (ritual purification bath) on Jumu’ah, on the day of Eid al-Fitr, on the day of Eid al-Adha, and on the day of Arafah. Imam (as) said: 'Yes, She is required to perfor
وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَأْكُلُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْدُوَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى وَ لَا يَأْكُلُ يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى حَتَّى يَذْبَحَ.
Hadith.1464 - Imam Ali (as) would eat on the day of Eid al-Fitr before heading to the prayer area, but on the day of Eid al-Adha, he would not eat until after performing the ritual sacrifice.
لَا تَخْرُجْ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى تَطْعَمَ شَيْئاً وَ لَا تَأْكُلْ يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى شَيْئاً إِلَّا مِنْ هَدْيِكَ[1] وَ أُضْحِيَّتِكَ إِنْ قَوِيتَ عَلَيْهِ وَ إِنْ لَمْ تَقْوَ فَمَعْذُورٌ[2] قَالَ وَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع كَانَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع لَا يَأْكُلُ يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى شَيْئاً حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ مِنْ أُضْحِيَّتِهِ وَ لَا يَخْرُجُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ حَتَّى يَطْعَمَ وَ يُؤَدِّيَ الْفِطْرَةَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ
Hadith.1465 - Hariz narrated from Zurarah that Abu Ja'far Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) said: "Do not leave your house on the day of Eid al-Fitr until you have eaten something, and do not eat anything on the day of Eid al-Adha except from your own sacrifice, if you are able. السُّنَّةُ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَمْصَارِ أَنْ يَبْرُزُوا مِنْ أَمْصَارِهِمْ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِلَّا أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ.
Hadith.1466 - Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated from Ja'far ibn Muhammad from his father (as) that He said: "The Sunnah (tradition) for the people of cities is to go out from their cities for the two Eid prayers, except for the people of Mecca, who pray in the Sacred Mosque (Masjid al-Haram)."
لَا يَنْبَغِي أَنْ تُصَلَّى صَلَاةُ الْعِيدَيْنِ فِي مَسْجِدٍ مُسَقَّفٍ وَ لَا فِي بَيْتٍ إِنَّمَا تُصَلَّى فِي الصَّحْرَاءِ أَوْ فِي مَكَانٍ بَارِزٍ.
"It is not appropriate for the Eid prayers to be performed in a covered mosque or in a house; rather, they should be prayed in the open air or in an exposed place."
هَذَا يَوْمٌ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَخْرُجُ فِيهِ حَتَّى يَبْرُزَ لآِفَاقِ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَضَعُ جَبْهَتَهُ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ.
Hadith.1468 - Al-Halabi narrated from Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) from his father (as) that when he would go out on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, he would refuse to have a carpet (or mat) brought to him to pray on. He would say, "This is a day when the Messenger of Allah (sw) would go
قُلْتُ لَهُ أَ رَأَيْتَ صَلَاةَ الْعِيدَيْنِ هَلْ فِيهِمَا أَذَانٌ وَ إِقَامَةٌ قَالَ لَيْسَ فِيهِمَا أَذَانٌ وَ لَا إِقَامَةٌ وَ لَكِنْ يُنَادَى الصَّلَاةَ الصَّلَاةَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ لَيْسَ فِيهِمَا مِنْبَرٌ الْمِنْبَرُ لَا يُحَرَّكُ مِنْ مَوْضِعِهِ- وَ لَكِنْ يُصْنَعُ لِلْإِمَامِ شِبْهُ الْمِنْبَرِ مِنْ طِينٍ فَيَقُومُ عَلَيْهِ فَيَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ ثُمَّ يَنْزِلُ.
Hadith.1469 - Isma'il ibn Jabir narrated from Abu Abdullah Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) that He said: "I asked him about the prayer of the two Eids (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha), whether there is an Adhan (call to prayer) or Iqamah (second call to prayer) for them." Imam (as) said: "There is neither Adhan nor
لَا تَقْضِ وَتْرَ لَيْلَتِكَ[1] يَعْنِي فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ إِنْ كَانَ فَاتَكَ حَتَّى تُصَلِّيَ الزَّوَالَ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ.
"Do not make up the Witr prayer of your night, meaning on the two Eids, if you missed it until you have prayed the midday (Dhuhr) prayer on that day."
رَكْعَتَانِ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ لَيْسَ تُصَلَّيَانِ فِي مَوْضِعٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ وَ تُصَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُخْرَجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى لَيْسَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ لِأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص فَعَلَهُ[3].
"There are two (units of prayer) from the Sunnah that are not performed in any place except in Medina, and they are prayed in the Mosque of the Messenger of Allah (sw) on the two Eids before going out to the prayer ground. This is unique to Medina because the Messenger of Allah (sw) performed it”.
كَانَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص عَنَزَةٌ فِي أَسْفَلِهَا عُكَّازٌ[4] يَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهَا وَ يُخْرِجُهَا فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا[5].
"The Messenger of Allah (sw) had a staff with a pointed end, which he would lean on, and he would take it out on the two Eids and pray towards it”.
وَ سَأَلَ الْحَلَبِيُّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ الْفِطْرِ وَ الْأَضْحَى إِذَا اجْتَمَعَا يَوْمَ
Hadith.1473 - Al-Halabi asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) about the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha if they fall on a Jumu’ah. Imam (as) said: "This happened during the time of Imam Ali (as), and He said: 'Whoever wishes to attend the Jumu’ah prayer may do so, and whoever stays back, it will not harm him, but he
مَنْ أَخْرَجَ الْفِطْرَةَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ وَ ذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى قَالَ خَرَجَ إِلَى الْجَبَّانَةِ فَصَلَّى.
Hadith.1474 - Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (as) was asked about the verse of Allah (swt), the Exalted, "Successful indeed are those who purify themselves," (Surah Al-A'la 87:14). Imam (as) said: "This refers to the one who gives the Fitrah (charity for breaking the fast)." He was then asked about the verse, "and re
وَ فِي رِوَايَةِ السَّكُونِيِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ص كَانَ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الْعِيدِ لَمْ يَرْجِعْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ الَّذِي بَدَأَ فِيهِ يَأْخُذُ فِي طَرِيقٍ غَيْرِهِ.
Hadith.1475 - In the narration of al-Sakuni, it is reported that "When The Prophet (sw) went out for the Eid prayer, he would not return by the same path he took to go out; he would take a different path."
إِذَا أَرَدْتَ الشُّخُوصَ فِي
"If you intend to travel on the day of Eid and dawn breaks while you are still in the town, then do not leave until you have witnessed that Eid”.
نَعَمْ إِلَّا بِمِنًى يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ.
Hadith.1477 - Sa'd ibn Sa'd narrated from al-Ridha (as) regarding a traveler to Mecca or elsewhere, asking if the traveler is obligated to perform the Eid prayers (Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha). He (Imam (as)) said: "Yes, except in Mina on the Day of Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha)."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص- إِذَا كَانَ أَوَّلُ يَوْمٍ مِنْ شَوَّالٍ نَادَى مُنَادٍ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ اغْدُوا إِلَى جَوَائِزِكُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا جَابِرُ جَوَائِزُ اللَّهِ لَيْسَتْ كَجَوَائِزِ هَؤُلَاءِ الْمُلُوكِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هُوَ يَوْمُ الْجَوَائِزِ.
Hadith.1478 - Jabir narrated from Imam Muhammad ibn Ali Al-Baqir (as) that The Prophet (sw) said: "When the first day of Shawwal (Eid al-Fitr) arrives, a caller announces, 'O’ believers, proceed to your rewards.'" Then He (the Prophet) said: "O’ Jabir, the rewards of Allah (swt) are not like the rewards of these kings.
لِأَصْحَابِهِ وَ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ جَعَلَ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ مِضْمَاراً لِخَلْقِهِ يَسْتَبِقُونَ فِيهِ بِطَاعَتِهِ إِلَى رِضْوَانِهِ فَسَبَقَ فِيهِ قَوْمٌ فَفَازُوا وَ تَخَلَّفَ آخَرُونَ فَخَابُوا فَالْعَجَبُ كُلُّ الْعَجَبِ مِنَ الضَّاحِكِ اللَّاعِبِ فِي الْيَوْمِ الَّذِي يُثَابُ فِيهِ الْمُحْسِنُونَ وَ يَخِيبُ فِيهِ الْمُقَصِّرُونَ وَ ايْمُ اللَّهِ لَوْ كُشِفَ الْغِطَاءُ[2] لَشُغِلَ مُ
Hadith.1479 - Al-Hasan ibn Ali (as) observed people playing and laughing on the day of Eid al-Fitr. He turned to his companions and said: "Verily, Allah (swt), the Exalted, made the month of Ramadan as a racetrack for His creation, in which they compete in obedience to Him to attain His pleasure. مَا مِنْ عِيدٍ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ أَضْحًى وَ لَا فِطْرٍ- إِلَّا وَ هُوَ يُجَدَّدُ فِيهِ لآِلِ مُحَمَّدٍ حُزْنٌ قِيلَ وَ لِمَ ذَلِكَ قَالَ لِأَنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَ حَقَّهُمْ فِي يَدِ غَيْرِهِمْ[3]. وَ صَلَاةُ الْعِيدَيْنِ رَكْعَتَانِ فِي الْفِطْرِ وَ الْأَضْحَى وَ لَيْسَ قَبْلَهُمَا وَ لَا بَعْدَهُمَا شَيْءٌ وَ لَا يُصَلَّيَانِ إِلَّا مَعَ إِمَامٍ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ وَ مَنْ لَمْ يُدْرِكِ الْإِمَامَ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ فَلَا صَلَاةَ لَه
سَأَلْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع عَنِ التَّكْبِيرِ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ فَقَالَ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ تَكْبِيرَةً سَبْعٌ فِي الْأُولَى وَ خَمْسٌ فِي الْأُخْرَى فَإِذَا قُمْتَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَكَبِّرْ وَاحِدَةً[1] وَ تَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَ رَسُولُهُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَ الْعَظَمَةِ وَ أَهْلُ الْجُودِ وَ الْجَبَرُو
"I asked Abu Abdullah (as) about the Takbir in the two Eids, and He said: 'There are twelve Takbirs: seven in the first (Rak'ah) and five in the second. When you stand for prayer, say one Takbir and say, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah (swt), He is alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad
وَ خَطَبَ أَمِيرُ اَلْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ يَوْمَ اَلْفِطْرِ فَقَالَ: « «اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ اَلَّذِي خَلَقَ اَلسَّمٰاوٰاتِ وَ اَلْأَرْضَ وَ جَعَلَ اَلظُّلُمٰاتِ وَ اَلنُّورَ ثُمَّ اَلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ يَعْدِلُونَ» لاَ نُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئاً وَ لاَ نَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُونِهِ وَلِيّاً وَ «اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ اَلَّذِي لَهُ مٰا فِي اَلسَّمٰاوٰاتِ وَ مٰا فِي اَلْأَرْضِ وَ لَهُ اَلْحَمْدُ فِي» اَلدُّن
Hadith.1482 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) delivered a sermon on the day of Eid al-Fitr and said: "Praise be to Allah (swt), Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light, and then those who disbelieve in their Lord (azj) associate others with Him." وَ خَطَبَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ع فِي عِيدِ الْأَضْحَى فَقَالَ: اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَ لِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ عَلَى مَا هَدَانَا وَ لَهُ الشُّكْرُ فِيمَا أَوْلَانَا[1] وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى مَا رَزَقَنَا مِنْ بَهِيمَةِ الْأَنْعَامِ.
Hadith.1483 - The Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (as) delivered a sermon on Eid al-Adha, saying: "Allah (swt) is the Greatest, Allah (swt) is the Greatest. There is no deity but Allah (swt). Allah (swt) is the Greatest, Allah (swt) is the Greatest, and all praise belongs to Allah (swt). Allah (swt) is
وَ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ ع يَبْدَأُ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ إِذَا صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ مِنْ يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ وَ كَانَ يَقْطَعُ التَّكْبِيرَ آخِرَ أَيَّامِ التَّشْرِيقِ عِنْدَ الْغَدَاةِ[2] وَ كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي دُبُرِ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ فَيَقُولُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ وَ لِلَّهِ الْحَمْدُ فَإِذَا انْتَهَى إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى تَقَدَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ بِغَيْرِ أَذَان
Hadith.1484 – Imam Ali (as), used to begin with the Takbir when he prayed the Dhuhr prayer on the day of Eid al-Nahr (Eid al-Adha), and he would cease the Takbir on the last day of the Tashriq (the days after Eid) at dawn. He would say the Takbir after every prayer, saying: "Allah (swt) is the Greatest, Allah (swt) is
وَ فِي الْعِلَلِ الَّتِي تُرْوَى عَنِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ شَاذَانَ النَّيْسَابُورِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَ يُذْكَرُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهَا مِنَ الرِّضَا ع أَنَّهُ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ يَوْمُ الْفِطْرِ الْعِيدَ لِيَكُونَ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ مُجْتَمَعاً يَجْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ وَ يَبْرُزُونَ لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَيُمَجِّدُونَهُ عَلَى مَا مَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَكُونُ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ وَ يَوْمَ اجْتِمَاعٍ وَ يَوْمَ فِطْرٍ وَ يَوْمَ زَكَاةٍ و

يَقْنُتُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ قَالَ قُلْتُ يَجُوزُ بِغَيْرِ عِمَامَةٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَ الْعِمَامَةُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ.
"For the Eid prayer, if the group consists of five or seven people, they should perform the prayer together (in congregation) just as they would on the day of Jumu'ah (Jumu’ah prayer)." He also said: "The Qunoot (supplication) is performed in the second Rak'ah." I asked him, "Is it permissible to pray without a turban?
