“I asked abu al-Hassan al-Awwal (a.s.), ‘Does a believing deceased person visit his family?’ He replied, ‘Yes, he does.’ I then asked, ‘How often does he visit them?’ He replied, ‘It depends upon their merits. Certain ones among them visit every day, others visit every other day, and still others among them visit after

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ص‌ مُسْتَرِيحٌ وَ مُسْتَرَاحٌ مِنْهُ أَمَّا الْمُسْتَرِيحُ فَالْعَبْدُ الصَّالِحُ اسْتَرَاحَ مِنْ غَمِّ الدُّنْيَا وَ مَا كَانَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْعِبَادَةِ إِلَى الرَّاحَةِ وَ نَعِيمِ الْآخِرَةِ وَ أَمَّا الْمُسْتَرَاحُ مِنْهُ فَالْفَاجِرُ يَسْتَرِيحُ مِنْهُ الْمَلَكَانِ اللَّذَانِ يَحْفَظَانِ عَلَيْهِ وَ خَادِمُهُ وَ أَهْلُهُ وَ الْأَرْضُ الَّتِي كَانَ يَمْشِي عَلَيْهَا.

“I once asked abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), to teach me about the most excellent time for the morning Salah (prayer). He (the Imam) (a.s.), said, ‘About the coming of dawn, Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, says, “You must perform Salah (prayer)) and the recitation at dawn. The recitation at dawn certainly was witnessed.”

سَأَلْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ ع عَنِ التَّسْبِيحِ فَقَالَ مَا عَلِمْتُ شَيْئاً مَوْقُوفاً[3] غَيْرَ تَسْبِيحِ فَاطِمَةَ ص وَ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ بَعْدَ الْغَدَاةِ تَقُولُ‌ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ وَحْدَهُ‌ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ‌ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَ يُمِيتُ* وَ يُمِيتُ وَ يُحْيِي بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَ هُوَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ* وَ لَكِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ يُسَبِّحُ مَا شَاءَ تَطَوُّعاً.

“I asked abu Ja‘far (a.s.), about Tasbih. The Imam replied, T do not know of any Tasbih in a prescribed manner except Tasbih of Fatimah al-Zahra’, ‘Alayha al-Salam, and to say ten times after the morning, “No one deserves to be worshipped except Allah alone Who has no partner. قَالَ جَبْرَئِيلُ ع يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا لَا نَدْخُلُ بَيْتاً فِيهِ صُورَةُ إِنْسَانٍ وَ لَا بَيْتاً يُبَالُ فِيهِ وَ لَا بَيْتاً فِيهِ كَلْبٌ.

“Abu Ja‘far (a.s.), has said, ‘Jibril said, “O Messenger of Allah, we do not enter a house in which there are pictures of a human being, or a house used for urinating or a house where a dog exists.’””
