قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَجِيءُ كُلُّ غَادِرٍ بِإِمَامٍ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَائِلًا شِدْقُهُ حَتَّى يَدْخُلَ النَّارَ
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘On the Day of Judgment all the treacherous people will come with an Imam whose mouth will be badly deformed and end up in the fire.’”
كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ ص يَقُولُ لِوُلْدِهِ اتَّقُوا الْكَذِبَ الصَّغِيرَ مِنْهُ وَ الْكَبِيرَ فِي كُلِّ جِدٍّ وَ هَزْلٍ فَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا كَذَبَ فِي الصَّغِيرِ اجْتَرَى عَلَى الْكَبِيرِ أَ مَا عَلِمْتُمْ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ مَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ يَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يَكْتُبَهُ اللَّهُ صِدِّيقاً وَ مَا يَزَالُ الْعَبْدُ يَكْذِبُ حَتَّى يَكْتُبَهُ اللَّهُ كَذَّاباً.
“Ali ibn al-Husayn (a.s.) would say to his children, ‘Be on your guard against lies, the small lies and the bigger lies in all the serious and trivial matters. If a man lies in a small matter, he grows bold to lie in a bigger one. Have you not noted that the Messenger of Allah has said, ‘As long as a servant (of Allah)
الْكَذِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ ص مِنَ الْكَبَائِرِ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Forgery against Allah and the Messenger of Allah is of the major sins.”’
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْكَذِبَةَ لَتُفَطِّرُ الصَّائِمَ قُلْتُ وَ أَيُّنَا لَا يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ حَيْثُ ذَهَبْتَ إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ الْكَذِبُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ وَ عَلَى الْأَئِمَّةِ ص.
‘It is certain that a lie destroys fasting (invalidates it).’ I then said, ‘Who is he among us who is not such a person?’ The Imam said, ‘It is not as you think it is. It is forging lies against Allah, the Messenger of Allah and ‘A’immah, recipients of divine supreme covenant.’”
ذُكِرَ الْحَائِكُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَنَّهُ مَلْعُونٌ[2] فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ الَّذِي يَحُوكُ الْكَذِبَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَ عَلَى رَسُولِهِ ص.
“It was mentioned before Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) that the weaver (knitting) is condemned. The Imam said, ‘It is the one who weaves and fabricates lies against Allah and the Messenger of Allah.”’
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا كَذَبَ عَلَى مُصْلِحٍ ثُمَّ تَلَا أَيَّتُهَا الْعِيرُ إِنَّكُمْ لَسارِقُونَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ اللَّهِ مَا سَرَقُوا وَ مَا كَذَبَ ثُمَّ تَلَا- بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هذا فَسْئَلُوهُمْ إِنْ كانُوا يَنْطِقُونَ ثُمَّ قَالَ وَ اللَّهِ مَا فَعَلُوهُ وَ مَا كَذَبَ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘A peace maker is not accused of lying’ and then he read the following verse of the Holy Quran: . O people of camel, you are thieves.’ (12:70) Then he said, ‘By Allah, they did not steal and he (Joseph) did not lie.’ Then he read the following verse: ‘. . . in fact, it is the large one
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا هِجْرَةَ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثٍ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘(Due to) walking out on another person (separation) should not continue more than three days.’”
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبِي ع قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَيُّمَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ تَهَاجَرَا فَمَكَثَا ثَلَاثاً لَا يَصْطَلِحَانِ إِلَّا كَانَا خَارِجَيْنِ مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ[3] وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَايَةٌ فَأَيُّهُمَا سَبَقَ إِلَى كَلَامِ أَخِيهِ كَانَ السَّابِقَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ- يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ.
‘Whoever of two Muslims forsake the other and do not make peace within three days they both will be considered out of Islam and there will be no Divine Guardianship relations among them. Whoever of the two speaks first to the other, he, on the Day of Judgment, will be the first one to enter paradise.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فِي حَدِيثٍ أَلَا إِنَّ فِي التَّبَاغُضِ الْحَالِقَةَ لَا أَعْنِي حَالِقَةَ الشَّعْرِ وَ لَكِنْ حَالِقَةَ الدِّينِ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said in a Hadith, ‘It must be noted that in hatred there is shaving. I do not mean thereby shaving and tearing out of hairs, but it is shaving (destruction) of religion.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا تَقْطَعْ رَحِمَكَ وَ إِنْ قَطَعَتْكَ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Do not fail to maintain good relations with relatives, even if they fail to maintain good relations with you.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص كُنْ بَارّاً وَ اقْتَصِرْ عَلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَ إِنْ كُنْتَ عَاقّاً فَظّاً فَاقْتَصِرْ عَلَى النَّارِ[2].
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Be good (to parents), you will have paradise, if you cause suffering (to parents) and are hardheaded, then be prepared to suffer in the fire.”’
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي بِرٍّ بَرٌّ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ الرَّجُلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا قُتِلَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَهُ بِرٌّ وَ إِنَّ فَوْقَ كُلِّ عُقُوقٍ عُقُوقاً حَتَّى يَقْتُلَ الرَّجُلُ أَحَدَ وَالِدَيْهِ فَإِذَا فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ فَوْقَهُ عُقُوقٌ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Over and above every virtuous deed there is a virtuous deed, up to a man’s accepting martyrdom and being killed for the cause of Allah. When he is killed for the cause of Allah, then there is no virtuous deed over and above it. Also, over and above every sin of causing suffering and d
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص فِي كَلَامٍ لَهُ إِيَّاكُمْ وَ عُقُوقَ الْوَالِدَيْنِ فَإِنَّ رِيحَ الْجَنَّةِ تُوجَدُ مِنْ مَسِيرَةِ أَلْفِ عَامٍ وَ لَا يَجِدُهَا عَاقٌّ وَ لَا قَاطِعُ رَحِمٍ وَ لَا شَيْخٌ زَانٍ وَ لَا جَارُّ إِزَارِهِ خُيَلَاءَ إِنَّمَا الْكِبْرِيَاءُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ[1].
“The Messenger of Allah has said in one of his speeches, ‘Beware of causing suffering and disappointment to parents. The fragrance of paradise can be sensed from a distance of a one thousand year journey, but those causing suffering and disappointments to parents, those failing to maintain good relations with relatives
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَ تَعَالَى مَنْ أَهَانَ لِي وَلِيّاً فَقَدْ أَرْصَدَ لِمُحَارَبَتِي[2].
‘‘The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Allah, the Most Blessed, the Most High, has said, ‘‘Whoever insults any of My friends has waged a war against Me.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ قَدْ نَابَذَنِي مَنْ أَذَلَّ عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنَ[1].
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘To cause suffering to My believing servant is certainly a declaration of animosity against Me.’”
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَنْ أَهَانَ لِي وَلِيّاً فَقَدْ أَرْصَدَ لِمُحَارَبَتِي وَ مَا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيَّ عَبْدٌ بِشَيْءٍ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا افْتَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَ إِنَّهُ لَيَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيَّ بِالنَّافِلَةِ حَتَّى أُحِبَّهُ فَإِذَا أَحْبَبْتُهُ كُنْتُ سَمْعَهُ الَّذِي يَسْمَعُ بِهِ وَ بَصَرَهُ الَّذِي يُبْصِرُ بِهِ وَ لِسَانَهُ الَّذِي يَنْ
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, has said, ‘Whoever insults any of My friends has waged a war against Me. Whoever of the servant seeks closeness to Me should know that there is nothing in that matter more beloved to Me than his fulfilling
لَمَّا أُسْرِيَ بِالنَّبِيِّ ص قَالَ يَا رَبِّ مَا حَالُ الْمُؤْمِنِ عِنْدَكَ- قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ أَهَانَ لِي وَلِيّاً فَقَدْ بَارَزَنِي بِالْمُحَارَبَةِ وَ أَنَا أَسْرَعُ شَيْءٍ إِلَى نُصْرَةِ أَوْلِيَائِي وَ مَا تَرَدَّدْتُ عَنْ شَيْءٍ أَنَا فَاعِلُهُ كَتَرَدُّدِي عَنْ وَفَاةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ وَ أَكْرَهُ مَسَاءَتَهُ وَ إِنَّ مِنْ عِبَادِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَنْ لَا يُصْلِحُهُ إِلَّا الْغِنَى وَ
When the Prophet (sw) was taken on the night journey (al-Isra), he said, "O my Lord, what is the condition of the believer with You?" Allah said, "O Muhammad, whoever dishonors My friend has declared war against Me, and I am the quickest of all things to support My friends. I have never hesitated about anything I am go
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَقَدْ أَسْرَى رَبِّي بِي فَأَوْحَى إِلَيَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحِجَابِ[3] مَا أَوْحَى وَ شَافَهَنِي إِلَى أَنْ قَالَ لِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَنْ أَذَلَّ لِي وَلِيّاً فَقَدْ أَرْصَدَنِي بِالْمُحَارَبَةِ وَ مَنْ حَارَبَنِي حَارَبْتُهُ قُلْتُ يَا رَبِّ وَ مَنْ وَلِيُّكَ هَذَا فَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّ مَنْ حَارَبَكَ حَارَبْتَهُ قَالَ لِي ذَاكَ مَنْ أَخَذْتُ مِيثَاقَهُ لَكَ وَ لِوَصِيِّكَ وَ لِذُرِّيَّتِكُم
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘My Lord took me for a journey and revealed to me from behind the curtain whatever He wanted to reveal, and spoke to me vocally and said to me, “O Muhammad, whoever insults any of My friends has waged a war against Me. Whoever fights Me, I fight him.” I then said, ‘O Lord, who is this
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَنِ اسْتَذَلَّ عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنَ فَقَدْ بَارَزَنِي بِالْمُحَارَبَةِ وَ مَا تَرَدَّدْتُ فِي شَيْءٍ أَنَا فَاعِلُهُ كَتَرَدُّدِي فِي عَبْدِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ لِقَاءَهُ فَيَكْرَهُ الْمَوْتَ فَأَصْرِفُهُ عَنْهُ- وَ إِنَّهُ لَيَدْعُونِي فِي الْأَمْرِ فَأَسْتَجِيبُ لَهُ بِمَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ[1].

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَ لَمْ يَخْلُصِ الْإِيمَانُ إِلَى قَلْبِهِ لَا تَذُمُّوا الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَ لَا تَتَبَّعُوا عَوْرَاتِهِمْ[3] فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ عَوْرَاتِهِمْ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَوْرَتَهُ وَ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَوْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ وَ لَوْ فِي بَيْتِهِ. - عَنْهُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ أَبِي الْجَارُ
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “O group of people who have accepted Islam with their tongue and belief has not yet purely and freely entered into their hearts, do not criticize the Muslims and do not seek to search into their privacies to find faults in them; Allah will then do
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص يَا مَعْشَرَ مَنْ أَسْلَمَ بِلِسَانِهِ وَ لَمْ يُسْلِمْ بِقَلْبِهِ لَا تَتَبَّعُوا عَثَرَاتِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ عَثَرَاتِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَثْرَتَهُ وَ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَثْرَتَهُ يَفْضَحْهُ[2].
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘O group of people who have accepted Islam with their tongue and not yet with their heart, do not seek to search into the privacies of the Muslims to find faults in them; Allah will then do the same to them and to whomever Allah will do such a thing. He will bring disgrace upon him.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص لَا تَطْلُبُوا عَثَرَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَإِنَّ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ عَثَرَاتِ أَخِيهِ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَثَرَاتِهِ وَ مَنْ تَتَبَّعَ اللَّهُ عَثَرَاتِهِ يَفْضَحْهُ وَ لَوْ فِي جَوْفِ بَيْتِهِ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Do not seek to find faults with the believers; if one seeks to find fault with his brother (in belief), Allah will find faults with him and whoever’s fault Allah will seek to find. He will bring disgrace upon him and it may take place even inside his very own home.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ أَذَاعَ فَاحِشَةً كَانَ كَمُبْتَدِئِهَا وَ مَنْ عَيَّرَ مُؤْمِناً بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ يَمُتْ حَتَّى يَرْكَبَهُ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever publicizes an indecent act is considered as the initiator of such deed and whoever rebukes a believer for a thing will not die before he himself commits such a thing.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْغِيبَةُ أَسْرَعُ فِي دِينِ الرَّجُلِ الْمُسْلِمِ مِنَ الْأَكِلَةِ فِي جَوْفِهِ قَالَ وَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْجُلُوسُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ انْتِظَارَ الصَّلَاةِ عِبَادَةٌ مَا لَمْ يُحْدِثْ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَ مَا يُحْدِثُ قَالَ الِاغْتِيَابَ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Backbiting destroys the religion of a person faster than an internal cancerous disease.’ “The Imam has also said, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “Sitting in the mosque is worship as long as it does not happen.” He was asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, ‘What has not happened?’ He said,
سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ص مَا كَفَّارَةُ الِاغْتِيَابِ قَالَ تَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ لِمَنِ اغْتَبْتَهُ كُلَّمَا ذَكَرْتَهُ[6].
“The Holy Prophet was asked, ‘What is the expiation for backbiting?’ He said, ‘It is to ask forgiveness from Allah for the person backbitten whenever one remembers him. ’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص سِبَابُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَالْمُشْرِفِ عَلَى الْهَلَكَةِ[7].
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Reviling a believer is like one’s positioning one’s self at the verge of destruction. ’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص سِبَابُ الْمُؤْمِنِ فُسُوقٌ[1] وَ قِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ وَ أَكْلُ لَحْمِهِ مَعْصِيَةٌ وَ حُرْمَةُ مَالِهِ كَحُرْمَةِ دَمِهِ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Reviling a believer is a gross sin, fighting him is disbelief, eating his flesh (backbiting) is disobedience and the illegality of consuming his property is like the illegality of spilling his blood (taking his life).”’
إِنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ص فَقَالَ أَوْصِنِي فَكَانَ فِيمَا أَوْصَاهُ أَنْ قَالَ لَا تَسُبُّوا النَّاسَ فَتَكْتَسِبُوا الْعَدَاوَةَ بَيْنَهُمْ.
‘Do not revile people; it only earns their animosity against you.’”
سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ سَعَى فِي حَاجَةٍ لِأَخِيهِ فَلَمْ يَنْصَحْهُ[2] فَقَدْ خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ.
‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “Whoever works to help his brother (in belief), but is not sincere, has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah.’”
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَشَى فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ فَلَمْ يُنَاصِحْهُ فَقَدْ خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ.
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Any believer who works to help his brother (in belief) but is not sincere enough has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah.’”
أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا اسْتَعَانَ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ فِي حَاجَةٍ فَلَمْ يُبَالِغْ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ جُهْدٍ فَقَدْ خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ وَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ قُلْتُ- لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع مَا تَعْنِي بِقَوْلِكَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ[1] قَالَ مِنْ لَدُنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَى آخِرِهِمْ.
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever of our people is asked for help by any of his brothers (in belief) and does not do his best to help, has breached his trust with Allah, the Messenger of Allah and the believers.’ Abu Basir has said that he then asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘What do you mean by “The believers
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ مَنْ مَشَى فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يُنَاصِحْهُ فِيهَا كَانَ كَمَنْ خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ وَ كَانَ اللَّهُ خَصْمَهُ.
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever walks to help his brother (in belief) but not with enough sincerity is like one who has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah, and Allah will be his foe.’”
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَشَى مَعَ أَخِيهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ فِي حَاجَةٍ فَلَمْ يُنَاصِحْهُ فَقَدْ خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ.
“I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Any believer who walks with his brother (in belief) to help, but is not sincere enough has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ كانَ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَ الْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ فَلْيَفِ إِذَا وَعَدَ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever believes in Allah, and in the Day of Judgment, must fulfill his promise.’”
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ كَانَ بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ مُؤْمِنٍ حِجَابٌ ضَرَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بَيْنَهُ وَ بَيْنَ الْجَنَّةِ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ سُورٍ مَا بَيْنَ السُّورِ إِلَى السُّورِ مَسِيرَةُ أَلْفِ عَامٍ.

كُنْتُ عِنْدَ الرِّضَا ص فَقَالَ لِي يَا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّهُ كَانَ فِي زَمَنِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَرْبَعَةُ نَفَرٍ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَأَتَى وَاحِدٌ مِنْهُمُ الثَّلَاثَةَ وَ هُمْ مُجْتَمِعُونَ فِي مَنْزِلِ أَحَدِهِمْ فِي مُنَاظَرَةٍ بَيْنَهُمْ فَقَرَعَ الْبَابَ فَخَرَجَ إِلَيْهِ الْغُلَامُ فَقَالَ أَيْنَ مَوْلَاكَ فَقَالَ لَيْسَ هُوَ فِي الْبَيْتِ فَرَجَعَ الرَّجُلُ وَ دَخَلَ الْغُلَامُ إِلَى مَوْلَاهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ م
“If a believer creates a barrier between himself and another believer, Allah creates between him and paradise seventy thousand walls each of which will be as thick as the distance of a one thousand year journey, and of the same length will be the distance from one wall to the other wall.”
أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَنَعَ مُؤْمِناً شَيْئاً مِمَّا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَيْهِ وَ هُوَ يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ مِنْ عِنْدِ غَيْرِهِ أَقَامَهُ اللَّهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مُسْوَدّاً وَجْهُهُ مُزْرَقَّةً عَيْنَاهُ[2] مَغْلُولَةً يَدَاهُ إِلَى عُنُقِهِ فَيُقَالُ هَذَا الْخَائِنُ الَّذِي خَانَ اللَّهَ وَ رَسُولَهُ ثُمَّ يُؤْمَرُ بِهِ إِلَى النَّارِ.
“If a believer refuses to give a needy believer something that he from his own or from another person can provide, due to such refusal on the Day of Judgment, Allah will raise him (refusing to help) with his face blackened, his eyes turned blue, his hands chained to his neck and it will be said, ‘Violator of trust who
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ نَظَرَ إِلَى مُؤْمِنٍ نَظْرَةً لِيُخِيفَهُ بِهَا أَخَافَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ يَوْمَ لَا ظِلَّ إِلَّا ظِلُّهُ[2].
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever looks upon a believer to frighten him, Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, will frighten him on the day when there will be no shadow (protection), accept His shadow.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص أَ لَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِشِرَارِكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ- قَالَ الْمَشَّاءُونَ بِالنَّمِيمَةِ الْمُفَرِّقُونَ بَيْنَ الْأَحِبَّةِ الْبَاغُونَ لِلْبُرَآءِ الْمَعَايِبَ[2].
‘The Messenger of Allah has asked, ‘Should I tell you who the evil ones among you are?’ They said, ‘Yes, O Messenger of Allah.’ The Messenger of Allah said, ‘They are those who spread gossip that causes separation among the loved ones and those who seek to label the innocent with faults.’”
وَ اللَّهِ مَا قَتَلُوهُمْ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ وَ لَا ضَرَبُوهُمْ بِأَسْيَافِهِمْ وَ لَكِنَّهُمْ سَمِعُوا أَحَادِيثَهُمْ فَأَذَاعُوهَا فَأُخِذُوا عَلَيْهَا فَقُتِلُوا فَصَارَ قَتْلًا وَ اعْتِدَاءً وَ مَعْصِيَةً.
“The Imam recited this verse: . . for they denied the evidence (of the existence of Allah) and murdered His Prophets without reason; they were disobedient transgressors.’ (2:61) The Imam said, ‘By Allah they did not murder them with their hands or swords but they would hear their Hadith and publicize them, causing them
أَمَا وَ اللَّهِ مَا قَتَلُوهُمْ بِأَسْيَافِهِمْ وَ لَكِنْ أَذَاعُوا سِرَّهُمْ وَ أَفْشَوْا عَلَيْهِمْ فَقُتِلُوا.
“About the words of Allah, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, ‘. . . for unjustly murdering the prophets . . .,’ (3:112) the Imam said, ‘By Allah, they did not murder them with their swords but they publicized their secrets, spread them against the prophets who then were murdered.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ طَلَبَ رِضَا النَّاسِ بِسَخَطِ اللَّهِ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ حَامِدَهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ ذَامّاً.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever seeks the pleasure of people to anger Allah, Allah will make the people who praise him vilify.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ طَلَبَ مَرْضَاةَ النَّاسِ بِمَا يُسْخِطُ اللَّهَ كَانَ حَامِدُهُ[5] مِنَ النَّاسِ ذَامّاً وَ مَنْ آثَرَ طَاعَةَ اللَّهِ بِغَضَبِ النَّاسِ كَفَاهُ اللَّهُ عَدَاوَةَ كُلِّ عَدُوٍّ وَ حَسَدَ كُلِّ حَاسِدٍ وَ بَغْيَ كُلِّ بَاغٍ وَ كَانَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ نَاصِراً وَ ظَهِيراً.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever seeks the pleasure of people with that which angers Allah, the people praising will belittle him. Whoever gives preference to Allah’s obedience with that which angers people, Allah will suffice him against the animosity of every enemy, the envy of all enviers and the transgres
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ أَرْضَى سُلْطَاناً بِسَخَطِ اللَّهِ خَرَجَ مِنْ دِينِ اللَّهِ.
“The Messenger of Allah has said, ‘Whoever seeks the pleasure of a king by a means that anger Allah, has moved out of the religion of Allah.’”
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص خَمْسٌ إِنْ أَدْرَكْتُمُوهُنَّ فَتَعَوَّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْهُنَّ لَمْ تَظْهَرِ الْفَاحِشَةُ فِي قَوْمٍ قَطُّ حَتَّى يُعْلِنُوهَا إِلَّا ظَهَرَ فِيهِمُ الطَّاعُونُ وَ الْأَوْجَاعُ الَّتِي لَمْ تَكُنْ فِي أَسْلَافِهِمُ الَّذِينَ مَضَوْا وَ لَمْ يَنْقُصُوا الْمِكْيَالَ وَ الْمِيزَانَ إِلَّا أُخِذُوا بِالسِّنِينَ[2] وَ شِدَّةِ الْمَئُونَةِ وَ جَوْرِ السُّلْطَانِ وَ لَمْ يَمْنَعُوا الزَّكَاةَ إِل
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "There are five things—if you encounter them, seek refuge with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) from them: No people ever manifest indecency (fāḥishah) publicly except that plague and illnesses not known to their forefathers will spread among them; They do not cheat in weights and measures
وَجَدْنَا فِي كِتَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا ظَهَرَ الزِّنَا مِنْ بَعْدِي كَثُرَ مَوْتُ الْفَجْأَةِ وَ إِذَا طُفِّفَ الْمِكْيَالُ وَ الْمِيزَانُ أَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِالسِّنِينَ وَ النَّقْصِ وَ إِذَا مَنَعُوا الزَّكَاةَ مَنَعَتِ الْأَرْضُ بَرَكَتَهَا مِنَ الزَّرْعِ وَ الثِّمَارِ وَ الْمَعَادِنِ كُلَّهَا وَ إِذَا جَارُوا فِي الْأَحْكَامِ تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الظُّلْمِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ وَ إِذَا نَقَضُوا الْعَهْدَ سَلَّطَ ا
“We have found in the book of the Messenger of Allah the following: after my leaving this world when fornication will turn out to be apparent among people, sudden death will take place more frequently. When weighing and measurement will become light, people will face famine and shortages of livelihood. When they deny p
لَا تَصْحَبُوا أَهْلَ الْبِدَعِ وَ لَا تُجَالِسُوهُمْ فَتَصِيرُوا عِنْدَ النَّاسِ كَوَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص الْمَرْءُ عَلَى دِينِ خَلِيلِهِ وَ قَرِينِهِ.
"Do not accompany the people of innovation, nor sit with them, lest you be considered by the people as one of them. The Messenger of Allah (sw) said: A person is upon the religion of their friend and companion."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص إِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ أَهْلَ الرَّيْبِ وَ الْبِدَعِ مِنْ بَعْدِي فَأَظْهِرُوا الْبَرَاءَةَ مِنْهُمْ وَ أَكْثِرُوا مِنْ سَبِّهِمْ وَ الْقَوْلَ فِيهِمْ وَ الْوَقِيعَةَ وَ بَاهِتُوهُمْ[2] كَيْلَا يَطْمَعُوا فِي الْفَسَادِ فِي الْإِسْلَامِ وَ يَحْذَرَهُمُ النَّاسُ وَ لَا يَتَعَلَّمُوا مِنْ بِدَعِهِمْ يَكْتُبِ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ بِذَلِكَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَ يَرْفَعْ لَكُمْ بِهِ الدَّرَجَاتِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ.

قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع سُنَنُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ص كَفَرَائِضِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ فَرَضَ فَرَائِضَ مُوجَبَاتٍ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ فَمَنْ تَرَكَ فَرِيضَةً مِنَ الْمُوجَبَاتِ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْ بِهَا وَ جَحَدَهَا كَانَ كَافِراً وَ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِأُمُورٍ كُلُّهَا حَسَنَةٌ فَلَيْسَ مَنْ تَرَكَ بَعْضَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ بِهِ عِبَادَهُ مِنَ الطَّاعَةِ بِكَاف

مَنْ شَكَّ فِي اللَّهِ وَ فِي رَسُولِهِ ص فَهُوَ كَافِرٌ.
“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever doubts Allah and the Messenger of Allah is an unbeliever.’”
