“Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘The roots of disbelief are three: Greed, Self- aggrandizement and Envy. It was greed that led Adam to eat from the prohibited tree. It was Self-aggrandizement that led Satan to refuse prostration before Adam. Envy led one of the sons of Adam to murder his own brother.’”

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمْ يَجْعَلِ الْغَيْرَةَ لِلنِّسَاءِ وَ إِنَّمَا تَغَارُ الْمُنْكِرَاتُ مِنْهُنَّ فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ فَلَا إِنَّمَا جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الْغَيْرَةَ لِلرِّجَالِ لِأَنَّهُ أَحَلَّ لِلرَّجُلِ أَرْبَعاً وَ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُهُ وَ لَمْ يَجْعَلْ لِلْمَرْأَةِ إِلَّا زَوْجَهَا فَإِذَا أَرَادَتْ مَعَهُ غَيْرَهُ كَانَتْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ زَانِيَةً. قَالَ وَ- رَوَاهُ الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ جَد
